Metro UI is absolutely horrible, I hope iOS 7 looks nothing like it!

To be honest, it seems like Apple doesn't want to do much. Alot of people use the "you don't need to fix something if it ain't broke" approach to analyzing Apple's new products, but honestly their products are getting old.
flat design ≠ windows 8
Flat. Not flat. Whatever.
Just give iOS a user-accessible, shared-file system already! How hard can it be to give it an app that does the job of Finder in OS/X??
And an option to use an external pointing device like a mouse of touch pad. Not so critical for iPhone, but would make iPad more useful.
Somebody gets it. +1 for you, dude. I have a feeling we will see more of this Yahoo Weather app look system wide. The new Yahoo weather app is probably what Apple will do with it's weather app. Also people won't be able to say Apple copied android since it incorporated Yahoo weather into the system.
That's a clue right there.

I don't get the compulsion to constantly janitor WiFi and Bluetooth. If I was going to live forever I might find the time to fiddle with those settings, but as it stands now, no way. In about two seconds there'll be a better battery and location monitoring that'll make it moot anyway.
Thanks, and I will add that I WILL have an ipad mini, just waiting to see what is coming.
All I want is to choose default apps for email, browser, maps etc....
Why would you assume it will look the same? They're two different companies with different views on how a mobile OS should look and function. The only reason they mentioned wp8 is because of its flat design which is something iOS 7 will have. That's it. It will not look nor function like wp8.
I *thought* I was bored with iOS so I bought an HTC One. Played with it for a week. Used Google services for everything. Each to their own but there is something to be said for the simplicity and elegance of the iPhone and iOS. Sure, Android offers much more customizing but I flat out *guarantee* you that the vast majority of smartphone users don't give a fat rat's arse about customizing every single little detail of their phone. They want a phone that works out of the box and to that extent the iPhone is still unsurpassed. Read in an earlier post that some dude's father called him a bunch of times when he first bought his iPhone cause he couldn't figure stuff out. I had to laugh. Thank God he didn't buy an Android device or he never would have gotten off the phone he couldn't figure out how to use.
So is there room for improvement with iOS? Duh. For instance, I would love to see an OS where the user can choose whether or not the icon for a downloaded app populates to a screen. Maybe it's my minimalistic nature but I'd prefer to keep all apps in a sandbox and only put those icons on the screen that I choose to put there. I'd also like to see some form of "snackable content" like BlinkFeed in the HTC One. IMO, BlinkFeed is freaking awesome and the single feature I will truly miss. Not enough to keep me using the One but awesome nonetheless.
How about a new type of app. Maybe call them iApps. When you depress the open app for say 3 seconds you are given the option to have them populate to a screen and you can define whether they take up 1/3 or 1/2 of the screen or the full screen. The app will refresh at a preset amount of time or upon swiping down. What think you? I'd tap that but then again I'm a news junkie.
I've fooled around with a fair amount of Android phones and IMO the One is the best one out there. Yes. It does work out-of-the-box but the devil is in the details. Would take more than a few lines to explain what I mean. That said, HTC has done an incredible job with the One.In the HTC one's defense. It does work out of the box, and you do not have to customize every detail if you don't want to. At the very least having that option is awesome.
Exactly! Everyone is different and anecdotal stories are not necessarily illustrative of a pervasive problem. Now, don't get me going on how often my mom gets confused about passwords! How many times has she reset her password for iCloud??![]()
