exactly the reason Tesla chose to not support itIt's Apple's app and their interface. They can do what the will with it. If you don't like it, nobody forces you to use their app.

Some of the bugs still exist to this date. What bugs are on CarPlay?
Have two cars with CarPlay and I see no severe bugs to speak of
Lack of CarPlay is the one* thing keeping me from buying a Tesla.
* - Not having space in the budget for a $60,000 car also a heavy factor if we’re being honest.
I think they both hate each other. Let’s be real, it’s 2022 and we cannot even name a single product or feature Tesla and Apple have worked together on. Let's be real hereYou think its apple stopping tesla from providing carplay?
Musk is being a child because of the rumors that Apple chose not to buy Tesla when it supposedly was offered to them years ago. Besides, Apple, if they do produce a vehicle themselves will be directly competing with Tesla.Odd how even long holdout Toyota eventually settled on CarPlay, yet Tesla is still shrugging their shoulders. Then again, didn't they also not have FM/AM radio for the longest?
In 2/3 years Apple will be announcing Apple Car so why start trying to get Tesla to get CarPlay installed now when their own car is almost here?
If this is correct, I'm surprised. Obviously a passenger can use the system too, but a basic safety principal of infotainment systems seems to be that they don't allow anything that could distract the driver more than momentarily whilst the vehicle is in motion (no video, no web browser, no scrolling text etc). Any information should be available at a quick glance. Of course there's a degree of subjectivity there, but I'd suggest that any driver activity involving time-synced lyrics wouldn't include paying sufficient attention to the road. Some electric cars that seek to directly compete with Tesla, such as the BMW i4, BMW iX, and Porsche Taycan, offer heavily integrated versions of Apple CarPlay, as well as other Apple services such as Apple Music and Apple Podcasts, including support for features such as time-synced lyrics.
Oh it’s worse than that. The teslarati hate Apple and Android. They think Tesla software is the best and hate that people want options.Crazy, I had no idea Teslas are without CarPlay! I can't live without it.

I’m not joking either. Look in forums where people dare to ask for CarPlay.
Specially if your in a loan on a $25K ICEV + Gas. Savings adds up fast over the term (if you can home charge). I honestly don't miss CarPlay. Stuck a Autosonus iPhone/charger & holder in my Y, and that took care of the times I wanted my phone in front of me.If you're talking USD, you can get a brand new Tesla for as little as $46,190 MSRP; and possibly even less if your state has EV tax credits/rebates.
it's his ego that is in the way ...It really is sad that the leader in EV tech is too arrogant to admit that some AV standards are worth embracing. I'm all for vertical integration, but come on, Elon, get with the program!
Musk ego ...I agree. It’s frustrating and it makes no sense why Apple CarPlay isn’t allowed on Teslas by Apple.
uh, Toyota has CarPlay option for their vehicles, as far as I can tell.Odd how even long holdout Toyota eventually settled on CarPlay, yet Tesla is still shrugging their shoulders. Then again, didn't they also not have FM/AM radio for the longest?
only in the latest model for the past 2 years or so, not sure it is implemented in all vehicles yet ... posters point was that Toyota was late to the gameuh, Toyota has CarPlay option for their vehicles, as far as I can tell.
? Tesla can't even get FSD working (Musk told us we'd see full self driving Teslas in 2020) and you want them to work on implementing CarPlay? ?Odd how even long holdout Toyota eventually settled on CarPlay, yet Tesla is still shrugging their shoulders. Then again, didn't they also not have FM/AM radio for the longest?
