Don't you find the weight tough to deal with or do you have large hands?

I have average size hands and holding the Pro Max is not a problem. In fact, I’ve never had a problem handling any of my previous larger iPhones over the years. As for the weight, it “feels” lighter than the 14 Pro.

I find the 16 Pro has much better battery life than my 15 Pro. I had the 14 Pro Max and got fed up with the size and weight. The 16 Pro for me now is the perfect combination of screen size, battery life and physical size. I’m really pleased with it.

That's my fear with the 16 Pro! The battery...
Yea. I still got 1.5 weeks to decide if I’m keeping this one or going back to the 16 Pro Max but the battery is kinda giving me second thoughts. It’s def draining faster than expected. Not sure what changed.

I’m wondering if that’s an iOS 18 thing. I’m on an older iPhone but around the time I updated to 18(.0.1), it’s been draining like crazy. Might be something else, gonna wait it out and see if it goes back to normal.

Maybe all these widgets are draining my battery even more. But it sucks to get a new phone and not be able to use widgets due to battery drain.

Pretty much my experience.

13PM > 14P > 15PM > 15P > 16P

16P (with Apple silicone case) for me is the upper limit in terms of size. Pockets, carrying the phone in hand when taking photos, holding it for longer periods when texting...

Sure the battery is nice on PM, but I never really needed it. Screen is super nice but then again, this is where the bulkiness comes from.

Very happy with 16 Pro.

I just remembered I could check the battery usage per app, and at the top of the list was Sound Recognition which constantly runs in the background. So that was probably the reason for poor battery life in my case.

FYI- Apparently this is an issue with 18.0.1.

I have used the bigger phone option ever since they were offered (other than the year of the X). I thought I would want the pro max again this year but after using both and switching back and forth, I am keeping the pro.

Last year I used both the pro and pro max. I just switched them out depending on what I was doing but I mostly opted for the pro max. The pro this year is just a great size and I enjoy going caseless when I’m off work and I use an apple silicone case for when I’m working because I like the added grip.

After moving to the 16 Pro from the 15 Pro Max, I wish I would have just kept my 15 Pro Max, solely for the battery life. It was much better than the 16 Pro. My wife’s 16 Pro Max lasts significanly longer than my 16 Pro. I just thought the 16 Pro Max size was too big this iPhone cycle and thought that Apple’s claim that the 16 Pro battery life was improved this cycle would be enough.

I do really like the size of the 16 Pro, but battery life is too much of a hit from the 15 Pro Max and 16 Pro Max models. Especially if you travel a lot.

So are you going to return thr phone for the 16 Pro Max?

No - I am past the return period now and will keep the 16 Pro for a year. I still think the 16 Pro Max is too big and heavy compared to the 15 Pro Max. That was the perfect size. I know the specs don‘t seem that it is a big difference, but it does make a difference.

Maybe the battery life with get better on the 16 Pro. It has been about 3 weeks now. Not like it is bad, just when you get used to the battery life in the Max, there is a big difference.

That is true.

I will be getting the Pro but I feel I will miss the battery life of the Pro Max.The 16 Pro Max is just too big and you have to take into account I will be using a case as well which will make the phone even bigger.

I did not use a case on my 15 PM, as always had the normal Pro before and the size was no big deal without a case. When I did have the 16 PM this year, even without a case it still felt quite a bit larger and heavier. I could have probably lived with it, but last years 15 PM was the perfect size, at least for me.

Think it funny how last year Apple was bragging how the 15 PM was so much lighter and then they go back to heavier. Makes no sense to me. At least give it a couple years. 😂

I also have an 11inch M4 iPad Pro so I guess the Pro Max is not really needed.

So after nearly driving myself crazy trying to decide which size of Pro I wanted, I’m happy to say that I’ve stayed with the Max again this time around. Sorry Pro, maybe next time!
Seriously though, after setting up my son’s Pro and my wife’s Max (theirs came in before mine 🙁) I realized that I’d have been more than happy with the Pro, but the screen on the Max is absolutely amazing!
I went with a Black Max and I couldn’t be happier. Good luck to y’all on your decision and have a fantastic weekend!!!

Don't you find it too heavy/uncomfortable to hold after long periods?

I have had the 16 pro, coming from
A 15 pro max, for about 3 weeks now and am very happy with the switch. Admittedly my 15 pro max had 87% battery health after using it for a year, and my new 16 pro’s battery life easily beats the battery life of the the 15 pro max I traded in. I have wanted to go back to the regular Pro size for some years, and after Apple made the 16 pro max so darn big this year, it was the right time to do so. The 16 pro battery lasts easily throughout my day, the one handed use for most tasks is great, and I charge my phone every night no matter what, max or not, so this works for me.

First impressions: the size and weight is definitely felling very nice, kind of a relief coming from the 14 PM. Think the relatively small dim and screen size increase is very close to optimal, now I just have to use it for a little while to see exactly how I feel about it. The 14 PM was my first max and I tried it for 2 years, not for me I think. But the battery time… have I been too spoilt with the max…?View attachment 2429060View attachment 2429059
Edit: typos
Lovely phone. Is this the black titanium?

16 Pro Max here from a 13 Pro Max

Its the MOST significant upgrade not only for me but in 5+ years.

new Dynamic Island
2 new buttons
instantaneous responses
does not get hot
