I went from 15 PM to 16 Pro Max to 16 Pro and yesterday decided to try the 16 Pro Max again cause I missed the bigger screen and battery. So currently alternating between both 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.

Gotta say so far that while the 16 PM is much more immersive, this thing really is a heavy beast.

Basically, when I pick up the 16 Pro my wrist is happy. When I pick up the 16 PM my eyes are happy. Lol

Still debating on which one to keep. Leaning towards 16 Pro so far but we’ll see.
Decisions, decisions
The 16 Pro Max with a case is literally a brick lol

Once you go Pro Max, it’s hard to go back!

I tried the smaller 16 Pro but felt I was being left out of what Apple offered as there Top of the Line phone. If I’m spending close to $1000 for a phone I want the best of the best.

The larger screen on the Pro Max just seems very modern and high tech and I love that. If they could just one day make the Pro Max even with a case as light as a non-pro phone then that would probably make it sell more as people care about weight and holding it in one hand.

Probably gonna get the iPhone Ultra next year at whatever size they have.

Yeah a big ol brick. I def feel more immersed on the 16 PM when viewing content and reading etc. And the more I use the 16 PM, the smaller the 16 Pro feels, but I just put the 16 PM with a case in the pocket of my gym shorts and it pulled that side of my shorts all the way down lol, like a literal brick. Not sure I'll enjoy this in the long run, but we'll see.

How do you come to that conclusion? The only difference is the larger screen. How does it feel "top of the line"? Additionally you say, it's modern and high-tech, but the design is the same as the Pro version.

I understand that people have their preferences, but that doesn't mean the Pro Max is a more advanced phone from Apple. It's simply a bigger phone, and that's all.

Stay with the Pro Max. If you switch to smaller size you will envy the people with the Pro Max’s Larger more immersive modern looking screen.

Next year they will differentiate the Pro Max even further with more top of the line high tech features and the gap will be larger between 17 Pro Max and 17 Pro.

Well it does have a larger battery 🔋 and longer battery life.

I felt jealous of the people who had a Pro Max and I just had the regular Pro. Apple creates a entitlement in there consumers and you just flat out want the best of the best.

Next Year Apple will differentiate the Pro Max even further with a Ultra and so I’m staying with the 16 Pro Max now so I will be used to a Top of the Line phone with all the best features.

In order to get all the best features which I like, then Apple 🍎 makes you get the biggest phone 📱

Well, I’m not sure where you’re getting your information from, but this is all speculation, and not very good speculation at that. You can believe whatever you want, but ultimately, it all boils down to having a larger phone with a bigger battery. That doesn’t make it more advanced.

Does it hurt your hands/pinky finger...

It's a bit uncomfortable in my wrists but my biggest gripe is carrying it with me. It's been pulling down my shorts on that side when I put in pocket. Today I'll be doing a 7 mile walk so it will help me make up my mind on which one I'm keeping as today is my last day to return the 16 Pro if I decide to.

THIS!

Pro Max would be perfect without the case. With a case it's just too much.
Well just don’t use a case and definitely get Apple Care if you go that route. The Pro Max just offers everything and you don’t have to worry about picking and choosing features and that’s what I like.

There is no AppleCare here.

But most importantly, for me the phone is too slippery to be used without a case.

No, but, I’m also a 340 pound weightlifter so…
My biggest gripe is how it feels when it’s in the pocket, especially when I have shorts on. Got my Son the pro and honestly it’s not noticeably lighter, nor is it noticeably smaller when it’s in your pocket. So going on that I decided to stay with the max size again.
Pro is a great phone without a doubt. But it’s still a heavy phone for what it is. I’m not concerned with battery life, and I don’t get why that’s such a huge factor for some people. I mean nowadays, who doesn’t have access to a charger when they need it.
I get it we all have our wants and needs, but for me the pros of the max outweighed the cons. Sorry for the long winded reply, hope it helped in your decision.
I see a lot of people complaining about how heavy both Pro models are. I know for myself my last three iphones have been non Pro models strictly due to the weight of the phones. I want the features of the Pro model, and I don't care about their price, but I refuse to deal with phones that heavy. They need to drastically reduce the weight on the Pro models.

They already did with using titanium. Perhaps back to plastic?

As a non-pro max customer I would hate not having the best battery 🔋 Even having 1 less feature would get to me.

Been on the fence for a long time. Weeks. I have the PM and P in hand and coming from a 14PM I still can't swing the bigger device.

The intention was to use the PM careless but it's not just a matter of it being huge, it's just unnecessarily tall and I can't even focus on the entire screen. They really should have gone 6.5. At that size they pretty much could have just one model. I think they do this to keep people wanting to be on the other side of the fence and then buy when the new model comes out.

For reference I have big hands and am tall so my pockets and hands are big enough to accommodate. The 16P just feels better. Screen size you get used to. The only thing kind of lacking is the battery, but even then the Pro is pretty good compared to previous iterations.

They will and it will start with the iPhone Slim next year. That slim will eventually go to the pro line.

Try the Pro Max without a case and I promise, you will love it better and it feel much lighter. The Apple silicon case unfortunately makes the 16 Pro Max heavier and taller

They did make them lighter with the 15 Pro models, then upped the weight again with the 16 models so go figure. They need to change something to make them lighter whether it be plastic, aluminum, or whatever.

It’s doable without a case. Many people in this forum go case less and love it. Just be conscious of holding the phone near concrete.

There getting lighter next year with the iPhone Slim version which will trickle down to the Pro lineup in the coming years.

How is it possible for Apple to take away a feature in your phone that you already bought? They can disable things by software but I assume that's not what you're talking about. Maybe you're talking about Apple removing features from subsequent generations. But 1) I don't see how that's relevant to your current phone, and 2) when has Apple ever removed features specifically from the smaller Pro? Sometimes they kill features across all iPhones (3D Touch, headphone port, etc), but in my memory never only specific phones.

I guess what's really happening is you're confusing the bigger phone gaining something unique with the smaller phone losing something it had. Those are two very different things, and the latter has never happened as far as I know.

One can go totally naked if one is just very careful, but a grip accessory is a compromise that can help a ton. I just found a good one called Snap that is super thin and does pass through MagSafe charging, but opening it one-handed takes a little practice.
