How is it possible for Apple to take away a feature in your phone that you already bought? They can disable things by software but I assume that's not what you're talking about. Maybe you're talking about Apple removing features from subsequent generations. But 1) I don't see how that's relevant to your current phone, and 2) when has Apple ever removed features specifically from the smaller Pro? Sometimes they kill features across all iPhones (3D Touch, headphone port, etc), but in my memory never only specific phones.

I guess what's really happening is you're confusing the bigger phone gaining something unique with the smaller phone losing something it had. Those are two very different things, and the latter has never happened as far as I know.
Jonas, just stick with the Pro Max and don’t use a Apple Silicon case if you want the phone lighter and smaller.

One can go totally naked if one is just very careful, but a grip accessory is a compromise that can help a ton. I just found a good one called Snap that is super thin and does pass through MagSafe charging, but opening it one-handed takes a little practice.
The Apple case just make the phone way bigger than it should be.

Maybe Apple can make a slimmer case, but I doubt they do that.

Try the Pro Max without a case and I promise, you will love it better and it feel much lighter. The Apple silicon case unfortunately makes the 16 Pro Max heavier and taller
I've tried it without a case, it's uncomfortable. They made the phone much too big. By every single spec the Pro Max should work for a 6'+ gentleman who has big hands and wears a size L pants. The Pro just feels so much better. And for a device that needs to be carried and stowed in a pocket, while used by hand, the comfort should be most important. Battery is great but not when I dread taking it out. I travel through a city a lot and I see women with purses carrying the PM and almost all men have the P. Even LeBron James carries the P. He carries two of them but it's telling that someone his size doesn't use the bigger device.

The problem with the slim models is that it will be a non Pro. I want a super light smaller Pro model.
You’re gonna have to patiently wait then. Apple first has to see how consumers react to the non-pro slim model. Remember this will be a brand new model from Apple 🍎 If sales are good then the slim version will be incorporated in the Pro Models.

I can say something after a month with Pro (I was on the fence with Max). I’m pleased.

It's lighter, fits better in the hand, it's fun to handle, it's a pleasure to use and it's just with me all the time. I can't imagine bigger phone.

And one more interesting fact. Regular Pro is absolutely dominant in my environment, the Pro Max is used exclusively by people 10-15 years younger than me and, like we say that in my country, “gadget-freaks”. I know it's not a rule, but it seems like many people thinks that bigger=better so if they splurge that much cash on a phone, they want it “best” and “most visible”.

A lot of People get the Pro Max due to needing a bigger battery and bigger screen!

Checking in after a month of switching from the 14 Pro Max to the 16 Pro, I'm confident I made the right choice. As someone who travels frequently, the more manageable size has been a real advantage, and I rarely miss the larger screen.

While the battery life occasionally leaves me wanting more, the benefits of having a more pocket-friendly device far outweigh this minor drawback. I recently had the opportunity to try the 16 Pro Max for a few days, and it only reinforced my decision - the larger size just felt too cumbersome for my needs.

In an ideal world, a 6.5-6.6 inch screen might be the perfect middle ground, but between the current options, the 16 Pro hits the sweet spot of portability and functionality for my lifestyle.

I think you did. I did the exact same thing. Did you ever consider the 16 Plus? I am considering it since they weight the same. It might be the perfect compromise.

This is a good question. I will jump in and give my response on it.

I would have given this a lot of consideration if I did not have the 15 plus as my work phone. It’s a marvellous creation tbh; light and nice to hold, lovely screen, good cameras, snappy and an almost unbelievable battery life. The 16 plus is likely even better… but, always a but, I really appreciate specifically two pro features. The promotion and the pro camera specs/features. In my case I would regret not having them, I think it’s worth it. So, to not have a brick of a phone, this landed me on the 16P. Having said that, if those two features were not that important to me, the 16 plus would probably have been my second choice.

How are you finding the 16p battery? I’m undecided. It’s not the best but definitely better than I thought it might be.

It’s been more then ok for me, and I can be quite a heavy user most of the time. I just charge it when I need, almost every day I have had good margin at bedtime. Spec wise the 16P is not far away from the 15PM…

After a few weeks of owning the 16 pro (previously owned a 14 pro max), I have been really happy with going the smaller pro. This decision was cemented when I got access to another 14 pro max recently and now find it too heavy and bulky. Sure the extra screen size is nice, but for one it’s not as big a benefit as I thought and it’s just not worth going heavier and larger.

But everyone is different 😁

Good question, I hadn't considered it honestly as I wanted a promotion screen. If the plus had that, I would have. I must admit though, you had me go to the website again for another look ;)

Decisions, decisions
The 16 Pro Max with a case is literally a brick lol
The pro max with a case is brutal. I enjoy the pro max caseless. I have a few diff cases that I use from time to time but naked is the way to go. The 15PM was the best size and weight phone IMO.

I can't use a phone careless unfortunately. I find it too slippery and I don't want to crack the screen/break the phone.

I use a screen protector and have broken the back twice bu have AppleCare+ so I pay the 29 and keep it moving.

Honestly I have the 16 pro max and use the Apple silicone case. It doesn’t make the phone that much bigger and I love that it actually covers the camera button. There is no cut out.

Hi there, I am thinking of upgrading from my current iphone x to the 16 PM. How are you getting on with the PM? Also I would certainly be looking to buy the Apple Silicone case for peace of mind, rather than buying a cheaper brand off Amazon...
