When not charging overnight, Find My takes 1% of battery every hour.
My phone doesn’t lose that much on standby. So the battery drain is eliminated with Bluetooth off? How many find my devices do you have?

As for charging overnight, that seems like a normal thing most people are doing anyway?

On my 16 Pro, I only lose 3% overnight. Plus I don't charge my phone overnight, I charge it in the morning while I get ready for work.

I have eight Find My devices and items. Turning bluetooth off drops the battery drain down to 3-4% which is more reasonable.

Now I got curious to check my overnight drain. So how much % do you usually have in the morning before charging?

I did after carrying the 14 pro max for the last two years. I can deal with the battery, but had to increase the text size due to these aging 48 year old eyes. I don't miss the weight of what I had, and largely don't miss the pro max screen size. Traveling soon for work, so we'll see.
Aging eyes at 48? Jeeze im 41 and better than I was at 25. I hope this aging eyes and other stuff doesnt hit me all of a sudden in 5 years. I still use the iPhone mini and can read off the watch.

I had a Pro Max before and decided to switch back to the Pro model, so I got the 16 Pro. I don’t have many regrets. The battery life isn’t as good, but I think that’s partly due to iOS 18. I don’t see as much content on the screen, but those trade-offs are worth it. It’s much easier to hold, lighter, and more portable. That makes it worth it for me.

I’m happy going from 14 Pro Max to regular 16 Pro. I kinda always hated the size and weight of the Max but I loved the battery life. But they really improved the battery life with the 16 Pro. I almost don’t see difference and I always charge to only 80%. And I’m happy with the smaller form factor. The smaller real estate in comparison with the Max is not very noticeable. Let’s be honnest every iPhone is a huge phone. The Max basically gave me half of one line of text in most apps and in few apps one extra line. From the real estate perspective I think it’s not worth of getting the biggest iPhone.

Just got my replacement 16 Pro from EE, now to decide if I try it out to see if I still get overheating issues and battery drain or not. I still think that the 16PM offers a lot more phone for the money...

What to keep, what to sell- decisions, decisions! Both are 512GB in black.
Decided to keep the PM. Getting it without vat takes it down to the same price as the Pro too.

Agree, you pretty much nailed it there. After 2 years with 14 PM I just really feel I want something lighter, more manageable and let’s say pocketable. I have a 14” MBP, IPad Pro 11”, 15 plus as a work phone, if I need bigger screens… Sometimes I just want a leaner device/phone with me and nothing else. My other extra phone, the all time favourite, the 5s, just baffles me how small the phones where then, but of course it doesn’t cut it anymore being unsupported, but wish it would lol

They both equally suck to hold. Might as well get better battery life.
Depends on the hand. I find it fairly easy to use 1 handed. I played with an iPhone SE at the Apple Store recently and the size was very nostalgic and comfortable. But some elements just looked a bit too small and it felt like I had to be more deliberate for touch accuracy, especially typing.

I think the 5 was my favorite too. The 4 was a close second though because of its significance at the time.

I considered it, thinking about how uncomfortable it was to carry the 14ProM even naked, but the 16PM feels awesome and how such minor differences in weight can make a difference. No regrets.

Too funny but the original iPhone SE was my absolute favorite. That was instant love at first sight. Even today when I look at it my heart still throbs. 🤣
On a serious note, I can’t believe that I ever used that size of screen. And when you think about having to charge it 2x a day, the Pro doesn’t seem as bad!

Once I went max, I can’t go back , I always pick up my wife’s iPhone 15 pro and her curious. I could one handed no problem with the max, size in the pocket of the regular pro sounds very nice though, I’m not going to lie. But battery is huge for me, so here we are. lol

Still pick up and use my 5s too, amazing it works surprisingly well still depending. 😂
Think the 16 Pro gave me little bit of those 5s vibes in a more contemporary package.

I totally think you’re onto something there. Sure, I love my big screen, but there’s something about those little tiny pieces of awesome technology that I think is totally cool. In fact, there was a point where I would’ve gotten the mini if it had all the bells and whistles

Yes did both the 12/13 mini but just couldn’t deal with the limited battery life. The 13 mini was clearly better in that regard but just had to face I’m a medium/heavier user I guess. Shame really. And we do want some of those bells and whistles don’t we 👼

The only reason I use the pro series is for the telephoto lens. If it weren’t for that, I would absolutely love a regular 16, or 16 max whatever they’re calling it nowadays. And they have better color options in my opinion

That and 120hz screen for me. Looking at a 60hz screen look awfully choppy to me now.

If anyone is curious I took some pictures side by side of how much real estate you gain with the Max. IMG_7713.jpegIMG_7716.jpeg

I had an identical dilemma and chose the 16 Pro. I am delighted and absolutely can not imagine buying the Max version.

And I switched from XS MAX - so both sizes were out of my comfort zone for me. The 16 Pro is just a super comfortable phone - I'm happy to use it, happy to pick it up, happy to use it. It is sort of...pleasant. I can't describe it well, but with this size I feel like in a beautiful, comfortable apartment, while with the Pro Max - like in a huge beautiful house, which lacks the comfortable feeling of home warmth and feels strange everywhere.

Hi all, as the titel says, did you? I’m on the fence getting the 16 Pro, and interested in your thoughts and reasoning if you’re coming from a Pro Max. Maybe it’s time to give the Pro a chance again with a tiny bit bigger screen and better battery time, relatively lighter too. Having the 14 PM now, and the main point to keep it is of course; it’s still a damn good phone. But… it’s a daily tool that gets used very much, so maybe time for a lighter and sleeker package. Thanks in advance for sharing!
Had a 14PM, got the 16 pro because The 16PM was even bigger and my 14PM was already borderline too big. I was worried the 16 pro would be too small but actually it’s great. My first impression was wow, can’t believe how HEAVY my 14PM was compared to this. Very happy with my new phone and wouldn’t go back.
