I went with AT&T for one reason:
AT&T iPads can still use the faster HSDP+ network when there's no LTE coverage.
Verizon iPads can only use the slower EV-DO network when there's no LTE coverage.
I ordered a verizon. Which is a change for me as I have always went with ATT on both iPads and iPhones. However im driving to Florida for a few weeks on march 23rd as I do every year and literally EVERY year I have NO SERVICE in the southern states. Plus I figure the verizon LTE coverage map is much better then att. lets hope verizon is honest about it. As the ATT map says we have 4g HSPA+ where I live and im yet to get over 5mb/s (which was only once) most of the time I get 2-3mb/s which is close enough to verizons 3g.
Big Red, my iphone and ipad 2 are with them.
Does anyone know if when 4G isn't available. does it go back into 3G like the iPad 2 uses?
That's surprising to me. ATT is usually preferred in the midwest and south (where I live). I've never had any trouble with my iPhone on ATT honestly, very fast network speeds and good coverage (again, in the south where I live). So I went with ATT for my first iPad.

I live in Tampa one of AT&T's best cities and Verizon is still the best coverage in the area. My friend was happy with them aswell untill he traveled once and lets just say he is a Red Man now.
