this is just for your curiosity of my experience incase anyone finds any interest. this is not a gloat.

i ordered my df in oconomowoc (between milwaukee and madison) wisconsin friday 12:30pm cst. 16 gig black. when she was entering my order, she had to call someone over because "there are none left in the warehouse, it's showing back ordered now." i tried to get more info out of her but she wasn't divulging. i heard someone mention "well tell him to get the white and he'll get it faster." (i stayed with the black)

so i've been playing the game of checking order status, reading everyone's stories, watching it go from back order to no back order to back order etc. thought for sure it'd be another week.

then all of a sudden it's showing as shipped. picked up 4 hours earlier and due by 3pm tomorrow.

so...att's order status is bs. only use it for to get your fedex tracking number once it's shipped and not for your actual status, imho.

Are you the guy who checked 690 times? I'm still laughing. I get obsessed like that too. but omg, 690? I'm afraid to see how many times i checked. I did get out today though. This is why i NEEd the iPhone. To check stuff all the time.
 
so just check the status of my order...still on back order...

I am order number 4107 (55116 area code) and the order number 4105 shipped today...

Anyone else in the same boat? Does this mean maybe mine will get shipped tomorrow? (Ordered mine on Friday around noon)

What do you guys think?
 
according to the "identity button" in firefox by the address bar: i have visited https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status a total of 690 times today:D:D:D:eek::eek::eek:


LOL! Upon further inspection, it actually says: Have I visited this website before Today? Answer: Yes, 690 times

so it really means I've visited wireless.att.com (not necessarily just the order tracker page) a total of 690 times prior to today; not actually 690 times today :D

I had the same thing happen, oddly enough over at an AT&T store near Bayshore Mall at pretty much the same time.

This pisses me off more than just a little bit. :mad: I ordered a 16GB black at 11:10 on friday morning from the oconomowoc location and mine is still on backorder. My status has never changed from backordered the entire time thus far..... so apparently if you order later, you get your phone first? LOL
 
Ahh, my Black16 ordered on 7/12 has never changed yet and still says "in progress." Here's hoping that there was some credence to the earlier post that those ordered on Fri/Sat had shipped out today and that the ATT site is just being a evil meany pants! HA! Even if it doesn't/didn't ship out today, I do hope that I get it soon. I'm going to my cousins birthay party on Saturday and I'd love to show it off there! ;)

My black 16gb just shipped! FYI ordered Friday at 12:48 EDT. I'm sorry for those of you that posted you ordered earlier and haven't gotten it yet, I really do feel bad but at the same time can't wait until tomorrow at 3pm!.

Funny story, I was showing my wife how to setup email accounts on her 8gb that we had JUST picked up 20 minutes ago, that's what I saw the email from Apple that said it had just shipped. The guy in the store sounded pretty confident that I'd be getting mine tomorrow or Thursday so that may say something about what they've been told about stock.....good luck!

EDIT:Oh yeah, I had just check my status before we left to pick up her phone and it still said back-ordered so don't fret about back order.
 
Has anyone who ordered one after Friday had theirs shipped yet? I ordered one today and was wondering if the 10-14 day thing was true.
 
Curious...what is the SKU# for a white 16GB printed on your receipt from ATT? The rep assured me its a white one, but it does not say that in the description. It just says: PHO APPLE IPHONE 16 GB $299.00

The numbers to the left of the "PHO APPLE IPHONE 16GB 299.00" are "69115". The funny thing is that the AT&T rep promised me a black as I had asked for it, and then that evening I looked at photos and decided I really wanted the white. When I called Saturday they said it was impossible to change the order but I could maybe swap at the store. Then, when I received my iCare notification (2 days after order was placed) it said white so I guess it worked out.
 
I ordered from ATT yesterday after waiting on the line at apple.. getting to the front.. and apple not being able to complete my order in store (even with the help of the att store across the way)

I'm order # 191... ordered on 7/14
it looks like they shipped the first 111 that were ordered on 7/11
ehh... 80 phones to go till they get to mine... lets hope that happens soon...
 
Still waiting on my 8gb phone that was ordered at 10:00 (Central Time) or so on Friday. I'm hoping it ships tonight or tomorrow! My case will be in tomorrow ready to go, but phoneless :(
 
I was just able to access the order status for the first time in a few hours, and my 16GB Black is now showing as shipped, and will arrive tomorrow by 3PM.
I ordered Friday, July 11 at 11:00AM in Jefferson City, MO.

This is more than a little frustrating to me... I ordered mine at 9:02 am (the person in front of me got the last 16GB-er) on 7/11 in Greenville, SC, and still haven't seen anything about it shipping... Glad you got yours, though =)

I've checked 10x a day since I ordered it Saturday 7/12 at 10am in the ATT store. Finally, just now, it shows shipped ... to arrive at that store tomorrow!

I type in the zip code from the store and here is the message I get "We're sorry, but the information you entered was not recognized by our systems. Your order may not yet be available or the information may have been entered incorrectly. Please try again." Now, I have tried the wireless number and home number. No luck on those either. Nothing works and csr is no real help just tells me 10 to 14 days now. Thanks

It's the last 5 digits of your order number and the zip code for the store you ordered from
 
I've tried that too, no luck.

Which Verification Method are you using? I first started with Order Number/Confirmation Number and that worked for a while, but for some reason I recently had to switch it to Purchase Order Number. Using the last 5 digits and the store's area code (which happens to be mine as well).

Mine is of course still back ordered.
