Just checked my order and I have a tracking number and will be at the store tomorrow(July 16). I ordered a Black 16 Gb on 7/11 at 12:52 P.M. in Madison Heights, MI
 
I have the same exact message, I'm hoping when I wake up tomorrow, mine says "shipped".:D

That's what I'm hoping for too.

And all this about the white iPhones keep getting shipped and arriving annoys me. I ordered black 16GB and like two hours later regretted it and wished I had ordered white. Now I still want white and could possibly have gotten it by today.:(
 
I wrote a small screen scraper to help me track my iPhone purchase. Its worked pretty well [[when the AT&T servers are up]].

It expects your zip code and the last 4 digits of your order number, similar to running a purchase order query on the AT&T site.

I am not getting any output from your script, and am failing to see what logic you guys are using in your scripts to cull this info. I'm probably just a bit dense tonight and missing it. Can I put the last 4 digits of my order number into AT&T's site to find this info, or is it only attainable through a php or (shudder) asp.net script?

I finally gave up waiting for Apple to stock their stores and just ordered one from AT&T. I want to play the backorder game now too.

Put the PO Number (i.e. the 5 Digit number after "Order Number" on the At&T site) and then the last zeros make the zip code of the store you ordered the phone at. Sample:

Mine is coming in tomorrow also, estimated delivery time of 3PM.

I ordered a white 16GB at 11:30am on Saturday (12th) in Texas. There's still a good few people ahead of me that don't have theirs shipped, but I guess that could mean they have black 16GB's or 8GB's.

Don't get your hopes up too much. I had that message and then about 2-3 hours later it moved back to "back-ordered" on both things. Then 3 days later it got shipped.
 
DF 7-10 days?

Unless AT&T starts to get huge shipments in, the 7-10 days quoted to many DFers is starting to look very dicey. 5 days in, and for the most part they haven't even filled the Friday orders yet. For my store in NJ over 50 in the queue in front of me and only a handful shipped in the last day. :(

I went in late Friday afternoon (after the crowds left) and ordered mine with no extra shipping payments. Just got on my computer this morning and saw a ship notification in my inbox from AT&T. I ordered a black 16gig.

Some have been saying they are angry how slow it's going. I'm actually pleasantly surprised to see how fast it's moving, given the fact that supplies are dwindling at Apple stores and all but gone at AT&T stores. I suspect Appleand AT&T have shifted priority now to those who ordered rather than the folks who are lining up at the stores.

In a way it makes sense. They should try to discourage the mob scene situation. It's not good for business. In fact, I'm guessing that's exactly why AT&T stores only had a few dozen units each. I'm sure they anticipated this. They can't be operating under chaos for days on end like the Apple stores. They have a business to run. They have other customers with other needs. I think they were smart to stop the madness and force people to just order one. I think we can all wait a few days IMO
 
Last night, according to ATT's order status, my phone was removed from back order which as we've learned this week is meaningless. But this morning both the phone and the freight are now off back order. Could this be a good sign? Nothing to suggest the phone has shipped but freight has been un-back ordered for the first time.
 
Mine has been shipped and will be here today!!! I went to bed around 10 last night and woke up to the email. I ordered the 8gig on Friday in NJ around 1pm. I think it came fast. It seemed slow as i waited but really, it's great that it will be here today.
What the other poster wrote about AT&T avoiding chaos at their stores when they have other customers to attend to really makes sense. As i stood on line friday, many people who came there for other reasons had to walk away. Imagine that happening for weeks. Hopefully everyone else that has ordered from Sunday and on will get theirs quickly too.

Same here. What store did you order from. I ordered from the Toms River store, in the ocean county mall.

I only see 2 that have shipped. The rest are all FRT backordered

I'm inclined to agree. We're getting are phones within a week and that's excellent. But the issue for me never was the length of the wait. It was always about the conflicting and ill-informed answers about the wait time. I would have loved it if an ATT rep could have said "we're expecting to process X number of phones this week and while we can't guarantee anything until we have the phones in our warehouse we are doing everything we can to fulfill your order with X number of days. We appreciate your patience."

There was a chaotic element to ATT's DF process that didn't inspire confidence.

this is kind of entertaining in a sick way...before you get mad a me...yes, i am still waiting too...here are some interesting stats from my AT&T store. I am only looking at friday (7/11) orders...if someone that ordered after me gets theirs before me, I dont wanna know about it anyway....

71 DF orders from my store on Friday
33 of those have shipped
38 of those havent shipped
7 of the ones that havent shipped say the freight is backorder and the phone isnt
31 of the ones that havent shipped say nothing is back ordered

I am in the group of 7 that say the freight is backordered

I am assuming that the 33 that shipped were either 8gb or 16gb white and that the 38 that havent shipped are 16gb black...who knows...kind of fun to hypothesize though

By the way, thanks to the guy who made the "screen-scraper" I never would have looked in to it this in depth if he hadnt made it so easy

I totally agree with that. Every rep gives us different answers. That is poor business. Total lack of communication. They seemed unprepared for answers. They were unprepared Friday. Totally. It seemed the store manager was in contact with someone higher up. He kept waiting for answers from someone else. Doing nothing but confusing everyone waiting.
 
I think the orders that shipped to the store I ordered from are coming from Ft Worth when Memphis is closer. I wonder how they are doing the fulfillments. Any warehouse to any store or certain warehouses to certain parts of the country.

My Store is getting them from both Fort Worth and Memphis. I was the last to order at my store on Friday (Black 16GB), number 91. As of this morning 27 have shipped, 11 have been cancelled. If I remember right two have shipped from the Saturday orders. This is all according to the website status. My credit card hasn't been charged, there is a pending charge. I take this to mean that mine REALLY hasn't shipped. I expect thecredit card webpage to update really quickly after the card gets charged.

This has to be somewhat of a good sign snce about 9pm PST Last night my online order status has shown a 0 in the back ordered portion for the phone and a 1 in the back ordered for freight....

Could it be?

Could they coming from different warehouses or do you doing order look-ups for your same zip-code.

It's possible they're coming from different warehouses, which would make it understandable, but slightly frustrating.
