Did you order to have one shipped @ ATT store?

Has anyone experienced AT&T not delivering in the dates promised?
I ordered on the 7/16 a 16G black iPhone and am about 20th in line.
They promised me 8 days- do you think they will be able to kept the date promised?

Nope. If they promised you anything, that was foolish because they really have NO idea what is shipping when as evidenced by the countless posts about random shipping and varying estimates from AT&T. Frustrating, isn't it?

Just got home from work. Checked the queue, and at least ten shipped from area code 17110 -- including eight (or more) that were after me in queue. Mine apparently did not ship today, although the AT&T order status page has had a "0" in the backorder column for over twelve hours now.

Looks like I'm now number one in queue. Not that it means squat.
 
When I first checked last week, I was 70 something in the queue. As of right now, I'm #38, so it's getting closer and closer. I just can't be patient any longer.
 
16gb black shipped!

It just showed as shipped!!! I ordered on 7/12! There is hope guys!!! Good luck! :)
 
Hang in there folks! I ordered on 7/11 and received mine on 7/18. No e-mails and constant back order notices them "Bam" a phone call. I know you're excited but occupy yourself with something else and before you know it you will get the call.:)
 
In defense of AT&T

I stood in line on July 11. They sold the last iPhones just ahead of me. I was the first customer to make a DF order at that store (10:45AM EDT). I paid for expedited shipping ($15) for each phone (16GB White, 16GB Black) The black arrived on the following Tuesday (15th) the white a day after.
AT&T staff were great every step of the way, they shared what they knew and admitted it wasn't much. I later read that others were not being charged for expedited shipping and that most (everyone?) got expedited shipping anyway. I didn't squabble or try to get the shipping refunded.

Today I was reviewing my card card activity on-line and discovered that I had two $14.95 refunds from AT&T. They had refunded my shipping charges without being asked.

Thank you AT&T, I say you're a class act.
 
I ordered a black 16gb on Saturday July 12. I received the shipped email this morning. Good luck to all.
 
Ordered a black AND a white 16GB

My wife and I both have the first generation iPhone, and I went to my local AT&T store last Tuesday (July 15) to order iPhone 3Gs for each of us. I ordered a white 16GB and a black 16GB, because I thought that would make it easier to distinguish one phone from the other around the house. Both orders were basically placed simultaneously.

My white 16GB shipped on Friday July 18 and arrived at my AT&T store yesterday (Monday July 21). The black 16GB has not shipped as of this morning.

BTW: The AT&T reps told me that it was a 10 to 20 day waiting period for the orders to be fulfilled.

after att took the money from my card yesterday and i was no longer backordered for a few hours, i got a tracking number at 1.15 am!!!!!
it's foing to be mine in only a few hours....
am excited.
btw: ordered on the 14th 10:00 in NYC
 
I ordered my iPhone 16g black on the 17th. Can somebody help me use the "where's my damn iphone" site? I put in the store's zip code. Then it says "start order number" and gives the example of those five numbers. My order starts with two letters the goes to all numbers.

So for example, I'm typing in something like this:
Zip: 55435
Start: CT123 (the site gives an example of all numbers)
End: 45678

However, the site doesn't work for me. Am I looking the wrong numbers and such? All I'm doing is typing in the first five digits/letters of the order code in the first order box, then the last five in the last box. Alas, no avail.

enter only the lst 5 digits of your order number

First...all of the order numbers (at least that I know of) are numbers only, so the letters would be throwing you off. If your order number is 45677 (example), you'll want to put in something like 45599 for start and 45690 for end, that way you get a good range. Order numbers are the last 4 digits of your order ID, not part of the "scan" number. Also, the zip is the zip of the store, not your home.

No, that's not what you're supposed to do. For that site, you put in the store's zip code, and then for the starting one you have to GUESS what order number starts your store.

For example, my ORDER ID (on the receipt) says Q545020991. The length of yours varies by store but:

The first 4 are the store number. Look at the top of your receipt and it will say "Store No. (Q545)", so ignore those numbers because they aren't the ORDER ID. So that "CT123" is just the store number. The zero is also not part of your ORDER ID, it's just a place holder or something. So all this Q5450 is junk, I only need to pay attention to the last five numbers (keep in mind that the amount of numbers varies store to store).

So my ORDER ID is 20991. Yours would be "45678".

Now, my order is 20991, and I ordered Sunday, 7/13. I guess that... 40 people placed a DF order before me. So I enter "20951" as the starting number (first field), and then "20992" (pick one number after your order number otherwise yours won't show up, pick a higher number like "20999" to see how many people are behind you).

The site will now show all the orders from 20951 to 20992. You'll have to keep guessing as to how many orders are in front/behind of you. I finally figured out that my store started at 162 and my number is 208, and then there are like 50 people behind me (which I don't care about).

To get your correct order number, check your order status on the AT&T website (the link is floating around various threads). The status page will have your name, your order number and your order date. Use that order number on all the other sites.

Then, to check the range, just enter a starting range before your order, and an ending range after your number.
 
As of today, my store has three 7/12 orders left. Yesterday I was #84 and now I'm #69 so it looks like those of us who didn't order 16GB black are moving steadily :)
 
Thanks for all the help guys. I now understand what's going on! Thanks again. It appears I'm pretty far down on the list. So the wait begins! I hope I'll have it within a month at least:(.
 
Ordered a dock several days ago from Apple. Should get it by 7/28, it's a race to see which I get first my 16-blk or my dock.

Looks like my Dock made went round-trip from Hong Kong and back to CA before I got my iPhone.
The race to Indiana is on!
