Did you order to have one shipped @ ATT store?

AT&T told me

I think it is a serious case of douchebaggery(tm) what AT&T did and we should all call them and let them know how we feel

we werent trying to hack them or take down their system we just wanted more information than they are providing those of us who had already forked over 300 or more dollars to them....

In terms of legal and political ramifications, exposing the names and locations of people who ordered phones is a bigger problem than you not being able to use the tool. If the loop-hole had been better publicized the changes would have been made earlier on grounds of privacy.

Thats scary, I hope my order is not canceled either. I got mine in Carlisle, PA not far from Harrisburg. It doesn't seem fair that you lost your place in queue, it wasn't your fault.

+1. I thought it was interesting that one of our local professional baseball players was 20 slots ahead of me and had purchased two iphones.
 
Well I'm just gonna get me one from the Apple store. This is BS. I've been waiting, and now I don't even know if my order has been canceled or not? I am not able to see any changes under my account or find my order using my phone number.
 
It took me a few tries, but I was finally able to look mine up by telling it wanted to search by home/contact number, using my cell phone number and the stores zip code (which also happens to be mine).

So, try all your phone numbers and both the cell and home option, with both the store and your zip code and maybe you'll find it.
 
About the mysterious order cancelling... same thing happened to me. What was worse about it was that was actually out for delivery due to arrive before 3pm. The fedex guy never showed, so I checked the fedex site to see if they left it at the apartment office. The note on fedex's site said the recipient had moved and no longer lives at the address. Huh?

Okay, so anyway, I call fedex, and they tell me that it was never delivered because around 9am at&t notified fedex to return the phone to them. Okay, so I'm thinking it's strange that there is a "recipient no longer lives at address" note, but I went with what they said.

So I called the local att&t store to find out what's going on, and they said that there was an error in my account and when one of the employees tried to correct it, it cancelled my entire account. I asked if they could set it straight and I could drive 2 miles to where my phone sat in the fedex office and pick it up. They said they couldn't, and the only way to fix it was to re-init the account and place the order again. I asked if that would place me at the back of the queue again and they said they didn't know. Now with the order site down I can't tell.

Very frustrating.
 
I'm still waiting for mine. It's too bad AT&T changed their status website so we can't find out where we are in the queue anymore. When I checked last night, I was #29, so hopefully I'll have mine by the end of the week.
 
ive had such a sour experience with this Iphone. the first one went smoothly, went to ATT and picked it up and activated it later that day, no probs.

this one comes out, i put my old one up on ebay, fetched $335, enough for a new one!

i plan to go wait in line to get one, i get added onto my moms policy as a authorized user, when she called to do that, she told them her bill was due on the 1st and she didnt get paid till the tuesday after the iphone came out, and asked to make a note of that so it wont effect my getting an iphone, the lady at ATT said it wouldnt be a problem.

So July 10th i go to an ATT store to check and make sure im eligible, she looks up my info "oh you have an iphone already? then your eligible for the new one"

i go to the apple store at 6:30, wait in line, finally get in to buy it at 1:00pm, and the guy is like "uh its not showing your eligible for the upgrade?"

so we called ATT and because of the past due balance i wasnt able to get the subsidized price. I tried to tell them about the agreement we had, but they werent having it, so i had to leave empty handed, and go to the post office to ship off my old iphone. Back to my samsuck.

i went on friday the 18th to ATT to see if they had any, was informed about the reserving and i reserved a 8gb black. told 10-21 days.

i read yalls threads about Apple stores having them, so i left around 2pm today to go check, as i walk in, the mac guy is closing this barrier thing, they had just enough for the people in line :mad:

they get their shipments around 10 i heard so im gonna try to be up there around then 2moro.

Will i have a problem with cancelling the ATT order? I dont wanna cancel it unless i know im getting a new one.
 
Last night I was able to check on 3 of my orders...

Was 3rd, 4th and 5th in the queue!


Now, theres another white 3G I ordered just yesterday, and it shows 0 on backorder for phone, but 1 for frt and it hasnt changed at all.


Who knows, I just hope that the first 3 come in pretty soon!
 
i got my phone today from apple

Funny story today i went to freehold store to fix my 2g phone and as i was sitting there thay got a shipment of 3g's, well guess what i got a replacement for my 2g and then i got my 3g phone. i still have the 3g on order from AT&T. i called them and they told me i have to wait until it comes in to cancel it. Funny last night when i check the store availability they said they did not have any. just goes to show u.

I ordered at Black 16GB on Monday 7/14 and it still hasn't shipped...hoping for tonight or tomorrow though as I was #12 on my store's queue and my credit hold was taken off my account.
 
I was the 1st to order a 16G black on 7/14 from my store, and 2nd in line as far as I could tell before the ability to check went away. My backorder status changed to 0 sometime this afternoon. Fingers crossed for shipping tonight.

I ordered two 16 gig black phones on the 13th and haven't received them. The authorization on the AmEX expired two days ago and they haven't submitted another one yet - I am starting to get a little worried.

I spent 4 years in Carlisle... can you guess what I was doing there? ;)

I'm waiting too. Supposedly I'm number 1 in my local queue since yesterday and I ordered it originally on the 16th. They told me 1-3 weeks. Today is one week, so here's hoping for sooner than later.

BTW, I find myself really surprised at just how anxious I am to get this damned phone. I haven't felt like this since I ordered the custom guitar of my dreams! I'm so lame...

It probably cost them a lot in bandwidth. Plus there was the privacy issue (which should have been obvious to the programmer making the system in the first place). I'm surprised they let it last that long. Of course the smarter thing would be to reveal our actual place in line without making us forage for it, oh and maybe explain how it is that this damn system works in the first place. I only want to know that my place in line has changed. The last I know I was 130! It wouldn't have been that hard for them to add that info. It's a simple query. Even the database itself could calculate that information!

What annoys me most, however, is that none of my numbers work. The only one that has a shot ends up with a 404 error. I've tried to find the address of the page to no avail. Anyone else having this problem?

And now it works and with my number instead of my wife's. I'm not backordered on the phone, but I doubt that's going to stay that way. Still, it's nice to see a little movement. Now, I wonder if there's a way to exploit this to figure out my position :) Hmm, not that I can tell. Unless there's a secret number or something.
 
You need to click the 'send' button as opposed to hitting enter. Then it should work. Use the zipcode of the att store and your ph no
 
Quick questions

Ok here is the thing I am a Verizon customer and am switching to AT&T(you guys know why) and have 2 8GB iphones on DF from the AT&T store nearest my house.
Last night I checked the nearest Apple store and they had them all in stock, me being a total dork sometimes was kinda like well its an hour and a half away and by the time I get there they will be out. So later around 3 I called the Apple store and asked if they had any in stock, he said yeah all of em so I asked him how long of a wait he said only an hour.
Me still being a dumbass today was just like well I can wait a little for my DF. I am/was until ATT changed the site 75th at my store and ordered them on the 18th. Needless to say, might have some more waiting to do.

So tonight I check the Apple availability and they have the one I want (2 8GB) in stock.

My questions:

1. Can the Apple store do my switch from Verizon and port my numbers?

2. You guys think I should go for it and hit the Apple store in the morning, and cancel my DF while I am there???

You guys hold my future... :p
