The first time mine went to the apple website within iTunes..never seen anything like that. 2nd time I got the "pending..will receive email...try again" message. I am trying again now. I still have my 4 working I think....it got a text a few mins ago.

Same problem here. Tried with itunes, nothing, phone, nothing. My old phone won't work, new one is in a activation loop.

Ug I keep getting the same thing on my new phone. My 4 still works but I want to use the new phone I paid money for. Damn AT&T

Oh..you relax! Its not like its never gonna work or its only happening to you...."new phone I paid money for" hahaha..

Are we all AT&T here? This is them right?

Finally, after about 10 tries..

Their servers -- I mean SERVER -- is getting hammered. Man they really should have the infrastructure in place to handle these launches. Pipe dream I guess.

I have unlimited data, I'm guessing thats the problem. It shouldn't be an issue, I selected unlimited data for iPhone 4s upon checkout with apple.com. The number leads to an AT&T number that seems overloaded atm

Typical AT&T. Never enough resources, whether its service, customer support, or apparently now servers to activate phones.

Anyone using an upgrade from another account? Apparently you can't just switch the SIM card anymore.

Not working here... seems like the SIM swap won't work. Have to activate under the account, then CALL AT&T and inform them that you'd like to switch SIMs. Haven't tested this out yet. I thought the point of SIM cards was the easy swappability without having to contact the carrier. What a pain in the ass.

Running into the same problem...Should have gone to Verizon I guess. Looks like I know what I'll be doing for the next 6 hours....

I went to my local AT&T store and they downloaded the IMEI data to my phone and I'm no longer getting the error about a wrong sim. It just won't activate which I believe is due to a server overload.

hmm just recieved the 4s and put the old 4's sim in there. It wouldn't activate after a few tries like everyone else . I'm currently going to try to restore in DFU mode to a blank ios 5. Will report in a few minutes:D.

If this is a problem, I am going to be pissed. I thought we were all grandfathered into unlimited data and $5 texting if we had it. If that's not the case, why were we allowed to choose it when selecting a phone? I would have switched carriers if I could not keep those.

I'm in the same boat! Please let us know what happens! I would HATE to lose my unlimidated data and $5 and would also have switched over to Verizon if I knew that was going to happen
