It saddens me to think that this is a real possibility.
“We’ve never offered a 16” laptop before. We think you’ll love it” [and you’ll pay through the nose for the privilege].
Stop repeating the same over and over again because there will be no October event this yet or else the invites would’ve already been sent. This new MacBook Pro could be released in March next year, at best.
There are other laptoos as thin as the MacBook Pro that don’t have these issues. If anything people seem to blame all problems on thinness. That’s what they blamed for the removal of the headphone jack on iPhone even though iPhones keep getting slightly thicker. It's not the mechanism that's unreliable. It's that Apple decided to make the whole thing thinner.
Indirectly there is a cause in the fact that the mechanism improves the stability and levelling of the keys, while being more compact. This is what allowed them to make it thinner, but they didn't have to.
It'll probably turn out that all these people have been misinterpreting a keyboard with the same travel as previous laptops to mean that it has scissor supports.
so funnyMakes sense. It has been a common complaint about the iPhones of recent years that they cost as much as a laptop, or more. Now Apple will show us that they listen to their customers.![]()
Apple's widely rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro will be available by the end of October, suggesting that an announcement is imminent, according to supply chain sources cited by hit-or-miss industry publication DigiTimes.

16-inch MacBook Pro concept by MacRumors
The report claims Taiwanese manufacturer Quanta Computer has already begun volume shipments of the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which the supply chain sources expect to feature a more reliable scissor keyboard, an "ultra-thin bezel design," and Intel's latest Coffee Lake Refresh or Ice Lake processors, although Intel has yet to announce Ice Lake chips appropriate for a high-end MacBook Pro.
The slimmer bezels would result in the 16-inch MacBook Pro being around the same size as the existing 15-inch model despite having a larger display. IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin said the notebook's resolution will be 3,072x1,920 pixels.
Last week, icons depicting a MacBook Pro with slimmer bezels in Silver and Space Gray were uncovered in the macOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta, lending credence to an upcoming release. Both icons were created just over a week ago, have "16" in the filename, and reference an unreleased MacBookPro16,1 model.
Apple's plans to release a 16-inch MacBook Pro were first revealed by Ming-Chi Kuo, who back in February said the notebook would be released in 2019. Kuo later said the notebook would be equipped with a scissor keyboard. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has also reported that the notebook is coming in 2019.
Apple is expected to position the 16-inch MacBook Pro at the high end of its notebook lineup, with existing 15-inch and 13-inch MacBook Pro models remaining available and following suit with scissor keyboards in 2020, according to Kuo.

You are asking the wrong people. Call upTim Cook at Apple to find outHow much is this going to cost?
Are you kidding me? Who in their right mind would buy this, let alone anyone here on the MacRumors forums has enough cash to buy this?
I wanted to "LIKE" this comment, meaning I agree with it, but I don't actually like this comment... I'm torn.I think it will cost 3299 for the i7 and 3599 for the i9. Configured with vega, 4000+

To be fair, many sources called for AirPower's release… and then it was canceled, which is incredibly rare. Apple screwed up. The end. I don't blame that one on DigiTimes, but I certainly understand your point that they aren't the most reliable source.Good ol' DigiTimes...
22nd March: Announces AirPower to launch in 'Late March'
29th March: AirPower cancelled
...
21st October: Announces 16 inch MBP to launch in 'Late October'
Let's just wait and see
You'll have to explain that. While we've certainly gotten used to this behavior from Apple, there is nothing here that justifies it.$2999 starting price I estimate.
It isn't even a relevant comparison. Apple had AirPower in the box ready to go before someone came to their senses and said, "This thing is not reliable, and is going to start a forking fire." And then it was canceled. Apple was the source. Right until they hit the abort button. To be fair, many sources called for AirPower's release… and then it was canceled, which is incredibly rare. The 15" MacBookPro starts at $2399. This product is clearly meant to replace that product (and has been rumored to do so).
There is nothing about this product that justifies a dramatically increased starting price. The keyboard and return of the escape key are things Apple owes its customers after 3 years of a total joke.
Same casing with slightly larger screen is quality of life upgrade...its not a new tier.
Beyond that, what is there that isn't also iterative?
Even if this includes Face ID (which I hope to god it does), it still doesn't justify major increases.
I see this replacing the 15" MacBook Pro, and the new starting price being $2599, somewhere around that.
I also see myself buying one immediately.

The 15.4" MacBook Pro is $2,399. To increase the starting price to $2,999 is going to take a lot.
...Unless it is Titanium.
iOS 13 has PowerBeats Pro icons when changing the volume while they’re connected. There’s also images of them when the case is opened and the iPhone screen is on. So yes, there is precedent for visual integration.Apple has owned Beats for many years and there has been no OS integration in a visual sense. You’re basically using your predication, to back up your predication.
