Isn't it about time for a new Mac Pro?
Isn't it about time for a new Mac Pro?
I'm not saying there is a need for new or redesigned products every year but updated internals are a must. At the price they're selling the devices they should at least include the latest chips.I wish they would stop doing this yearly-cycle and focus on reliability and dependability of their products. They are creating themselves the mess they're in. iOS is buggy because there are too many devices. It is not tought-through in ease of use, because they push themselves every year. This is Apple, they can take a year off - granted, in case of the Mac Pro, they did it for years - the next iteration must be a diamond.
Digitimes really scouring their sources to figure that out yeah?
Tell you what "dannys1" thinks Apple could start refreshing products in March, like they did last year.![]()
You are right they can always make a emulation layer to run the apps, like when we moved from PowerPC to Intel, we had universal apps. Though the only problem is Intel hasnt given a release date for Cannon Lake. Do you think it would be first announced in an Apple event?I doubt that. Marzipan, if it ships at all, is more likely to be improvements to make AppKit more UIKit-compatible, to wrap it (like UXKit), or to replace it altogether. I don’t see why it would have anything at all to do with CPU architecture, given that UIKit already runs on x86 and always has (cf. iOS Simulator).

Not sure why it needs to be obsolete when they have up-to-date Non-TB 13" in their lineup.
OK... So you're not into cpu/gpu/ram/ssd/keyboard updates, apparently feeling it would still be "obsolete."
What exactly are you looking for?

I still feel like MR should launch a trackrecord.macrumors.com, where folks like DigiTimes, Ming-Chi Kuo, Gene Mueller, Mark Gurman, etc. get introduced with their affiliations, their past predictions, etc.

I understand this as "it is almost certain that Apple will not release those before March 1, after that who knows lol"."new-generation iPhone, iPad and MacBook devices, slated for debut starting in March 2018." All three in one go?
I mean, it is obsolete because its the pre-2016 design. Its literally the base 2014 MBP that was left there as a "cheaper" option to compensate the higher price of the 2016/2017 generation. Just as Apple left the non-retina MBP for some time after the retina models were introduced.
So as such, that laptop is not going to get any updates since the design is EOL. I guess it will just get dropped and replaced by a 256GB TB-version, potentially with a slower GPU.
C'mon Apple, Daddy needs a new MacMini.
