Good price and honestly about the max I would pay for a Surf Blue or a Cactus band. The market got flooded with both colors when Apple had to send them out to customers who ordered the wrong size solo loop last fall.

I agree. The only band I’d pay full price for is probably the Unity band.. which I’m still deciding on if I want to get.

ETA: Decided to cancel for now and possibly grab the unity band..

I received the Beryl and Linen bands today from Amazon. Both genuine but I was surprised that the Linen - which was cheaper - was brand new just in a slightly bent and marked up box. Saw another Linen pop up today, ordered for a family member who also wanted it. I love this color!

Hmm where did you look to find the linen from Amazon? Or did they have some left for the 44? I don’t see any for the 40 😔

Yeah when Apple’s home measurement tool for the solo loops turned out to be horribly inaccurate, they were flooded with a ton of returns and didn’t have nearly enough solo loops in stock to cover them. So, they sent people free sport bands in Surf or Cactus so they would have a band while they waited for the right size to come in. I’m assuming Apple offered those colors because they had extra supply or because it was easy to ramp up production.

What I am guessing happened is that a good chunk of S6 buyers were coming from a previous gen Apple Watch and already had other bands they liked better. So, a bunch of them took their free sport band and threw it up on eBay hoping to make $30-$40 off of it. That’s why there are about a million Surf Blues on eBay/Mercari right now.

According to leaker Jon Prosser, Apple has reversed its requirement for users to return their Apple Watch Series 6 if its Solo Loop, or Braided Solo Loop, isn't the right size for them.

wow, that is good to know. I decided to cancel the surf since I looked at pictures and realized it was too similar to my Gen 1 Blue. Probably going to put that money towards the unity instead.

I measured as a size 7 on the printable one, but a size 8 on the in-store one.

Turns out I’m a size 8.

I just pull up the normal Sport Band listing and look through the available colors. Whatever they have there will show up. Usually it’s only one or two at a time so you gotta be quick.

Interesting! I love the cactus color, Surf Blue not so much. But I paid $16 for Cactus and like $19 for Surf from Best Buy (open box and on sale) so it’s whatever lol.

Oh nice! I didn’t have a hard time getting a replacement Dark Gray Ti band sent to me (I never had to provide a SN). But I couldn’t be sure whether that was due to having started the call from within the Apple Support app (which might have attached the watch SN to the support ticket) or if it was the agent I spoke forgetting to ask for the SN. This sounds like all you have to do is ask the right questions and maybe talk to the right person.

Also, what are all the eBay scalpers going to do once they realize we have this hack!?

I think it’s worth a try. You just need little fibs ready if they try to question that aspect of it. Some people just try the “call and get a different agent” method. I don’t feel too guilty in all of this because you’re still paying retail plus shipping.

It may have been because you were in the app. I tried to replace my ceramic strap twice (because the first attempt failed and I was sent plain white).

First time I went in via being signed in on the website and I choose my watch from my device list. I wasn’t asked for the S/N.

Second time I went to support outside of being logged in and I was asked for the S/N.

Both times failed because the band is no longer stocked by Apple in the U.K., it was eventually discovered.
