Apple One Premier is essentially that. This is what Apple should probably do with Apple TV +. If it was just offered as a free benefit for having some Apple subscription or other it would be a hit.

Hey, Apple needed to give away a free year of TV+ to get the word out. It's pretty easy to add subscribers when your service is being given away for free via Verizon.
I liked for All Man Kind...glad they extended the free year so I actually got to see season 2. Once they stopped extended it I canceled...I got a Playstation 5 and they're officering 6 month free trial you can redeem until July of next year. And I bet you won't say the same about Apple tv+ which apple is pretty much giving away to EVERYONE.
Not when Disney raised Disney+ prices 7 months ago and ESPN+ prices 3 months ago and Hulu+ prices 1 month agoSubscription fee increase coming soon.
yep, I got "free" hulu, disney+, espn+, apple music and a free year of apple arcade with my verizon.... theres more but I havent signed up for discovery stuffIt's pretty easy to add subscribers when your service is being given away for free via Verizon.
For now. Give it five years.I signed up for Disney+ right when it launched at $69.99/year and even at $79.99, it’s a great deal!
It’s a great service. I’m glad they are still able to keep the price cheap when purchased on a yearly subscription
I don't know why anyone would pay for more than one subscription. Netflix is enough.
It's not exactly free. It's pretty easy to add subscribers when your service is being given away for free via Verizon.
of course you would see Apple tv+ having more original content because thats literally all the have; and let's be honest it really isn't that much and half of it are documentaries.A more than disingenuous comparison but I understand it was made to justify a post about Disney news. I’ve gotten more “original” content worth out of TV+ than Disney, since launch, but, yes LOL, obviously their back catalog is unmatched across all the services. We enjoy them both, no one needs them all, though, which some reason seems to become the argument on all this posts.
Disney+ now has more than 118 million global paid subscribers, Disney announced today in its earnings report for the fourth quarter of 2021 [PDF]. The streaming service has gained 2.1 million subscribers in the last quarter, and 44.4 million subscribers over the course of the last 12 months.

In November 2020, Disney+ had 73.7 million subscribers, so its growth over the last year has been astronomical. Disney+ has exceeded all expectations since it launched in November 2019. When the service first came out, Disney said that it wanted to reach 60 to 90 million subscribers by 2024, a milestone that it hit before the end of 2020.
Disney now expects to have 230 to 260 million subscribers worldwide by 2024, and if Disney reaches that goal, Disney+ will have more subscribers than Netflix does today. As of October 2021, Netflix has 213.5 million subscribers worldwide.
Netflix and Disney+ are two of the most popular streaming services, with subscriber counts that outpace other services like Hulu and Apple TV+. Hulu has 43.8 million subscribers, but Apple has never shared subscriber numbers for Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ and Disney+ launched at the same time, but Disney+ has seen much more rapid growth because of its back catalog of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars content, along with popular new shows like "The Mandalorian," "WandaVision," "Loki," and "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier."
Apple is working hard to bolster its selection of original movies and TV shows, but it will take years for Apple TV+ to have a catalog that can compete with the offerings of other streaming services.
Back in April, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that Apple TV+ is going "very well" and that Apple feels "really good" about where Apple TV+ is at.

Of course, the fact that Disney had a huge library behind it of content going back decades, and a massive slate of movies in the pipeline had absolutly nothing to do wih that, right? And the percentage of paid vs free subscribers is far higher than Apple, who literally gave it away with every device and extended it out of pure desperation.
Agreed. I feel this is somewhat underestimated. Apple is producing a lot of original content but none of it has resonated through popular culture quite like the much smaller ctalog of new content that Disney has. If you look at social media Mandalorian generated more buzz than all the ATV+ shows put together. I personally don't find that show all that great but Disney's audience obviously does. And their Marvel shows are really good, especially Loki. Apple has Ted Lasso but that is not enough. They need a really big hit to attract new members. They obviously banked on Foundation being that but it's already clear that it's nowhere close to be good enough to play that role. It's not too surprising because of the vast and popular catalog they had at their disposal when they launched. But they've also done a good job of creating popular new content. They certainly seem to know their audience.
That’s why youtube kids thrives.Parents will do anything to shut their children up
So you’re basically saving $25, and this excites you?I liked for All Man Kind...glad they extended the free year so I actually got to see season 2. Once they stopped extended it I canceled...I got a Playstation 5 and they're officering 6 month free trial you can redeem until July of next year.
I'll take advantage of that and then cancel again. They're slowly getting better content but nothing for me to keep it full time like I do a few other
Instead of watching 24hours a day, you can try to watch 48 hours a day (run in 2x speed) then you have 2 lifetimes to finish the back catalogI love my Disney+ and Apple TV+. I really hate the comparisons amongst streaming services though. Apple is strictly creating original content from the ground up. Netflix had a HUGE head start. Disney+ owns more content than can possibly be watched in a lifetime. But I will try...
I don't. Ghibli person right here. Considering that Disney is owned be Japan, there is quite a considerable amount of people here, who dislike Disney and prefer Ghibli.Dang! That’s pretty impressive! Let’s be real. Who doesn’t love Disney.
This is the unfortunate side effect to Apples methods. It’s a ridiculously slow process, and sometimes some countries never see various services. But that’s not always Apple problem, it really depends on license agreements.2 years and still not available in my country.
