Today was the first time I looked at the Disney+ content, as a parent this knocks it out of the park for us (those classics). I think the real looser here is Netflix.

There's a couple of movies they can't show until next year because of "agreements" but when they're up, Disney gonna pull them...

That's why I bought all the "TRON:Uprising" off iTunes because I would imagine they'll start pulling those as well...

Wasn't working properly with my new Wi-Fi setup and also I had updated it to the non-jailbreakable system (don't know if that is still true), oh well, RIP...

Ah, that's to bad, my story is similar only I replaced it with an aTV3. Kept my aTV1 for some reason...
But the aTV4K is a massive upgrade to the aTV2 so I imagine it was worth it.

What do you mean pull them?

Actually the ATV2 to ATV4 (OG) with the App Store was extremely welcomed and love a few of the games!
(my OG ATV burned out as it was a hot-plate ;) )

Do you happen to know what the bitrate is for Disney+? Since you said it's not even close and laughed, I'm hopeful you know if it's up there or not with Apple TV+.

According to a recent article, Apple TV+ averaged 29 Mb/s and peaked at 44 Mb/s, while Netflix maxes out at 16 Mb/s. Bitrate is only one factor, but it correlates with quality, and in this case it can be said that Apple TV+ 4k does look better than Netflix. The article only used those two services as an example, so it's not easy to guess where Disney+ falls.

I posted bitrates earlier in the thread. Disney+ compares to Netflix. ATV+ still the leader for bitrates.

Got a free year through Verizon, FYI.

Current unlimited wireless customers (me), and new FiOS customers.

I can't login to Hulu or ESPN+ with the email I used to sign up. Is anybody else able to login?

You don't believe that this poster doesn't prefer to watch Star Wars, Marvel, or cartoons and would rather watch the adult programming offered by Apple TV+?

Why would someone make that up?
The apple tv plus programming is crap..at least for now. some of the disney program is adult oriented

No free trial with this one, eh? I suppose you could burn through the interesting parts of their back catalogue in a month, easily.
There is a seven day free trial

Is anyone having issues with your Apple TV?

Whenever I play a title my screen goes black and I just hear the audio.

Netflix, etc works fine. Just the Disney+ app???

Does anyone know if there is a way to sign up for the Disney+, Hulu, Espn+ bundle and have it bill through iTunes?
Is that bundle available yet? Thought it was in march

In case anyone missed it, new disney series (star wars) episodes drop each Friday. 8 in total

PSA: For all those who are cancelling their Hulu subscriptions or saying you can't have Hulu's no-ad or live-tv options, you actually can. If you have an existing Hulu account and sign up to the Disney bundle with the same email address, you'll receive a credit to the amount of $5.99 on the Disney bundle. Even if you don't have a Hulu account yet, it's actually better to sign up separately rather than through Disney because then you can pick & choose which Hulu options you want. See:

So, it looks like if you go with the annual subscription rate of $70, Disney+ is effectively a free add-on to your existing Hulu subscription.

EDIT: It appears this only applies to the bundle deal. You still have to pay an additional $7 or so a month after the Hulu credit. No go for me because I don't want ESPN.

Better ? I tried it and the Disney Pixar movie Toy Story 4 isn’t available on their own streaming service but it is on Apple TV +

Just wait, the movie is still in it's "renting" new movie phase. It's available on ATV+ but only to rent/buy. No streaming free yet. I figured the new movies wouldn't be available yet. Which is fine by me.

The Simpsons back catalog was enough for me to sub for the $89/year easy. I watched the pilot episode and was surprised how good it looks. My only memories of those old episodes from the 80's are from watching them on a CRT with analog cable... Snow, fuzziness, etc.

Probably won't sign up for it but I do hope this translates to a Netflix price increase freeze or even price reduction.

Surprised Disney is having connection issues. You are streaming 4K content, you would think they would have proper bandwidth lined up with all the money they have.

This is interesting. I just switched to the $12.99 bundle thinking there wasn't an option to keep the ad-free Hulu. I'll see how annoying the ads are, I do like the ESPN+ add on though.

Not even sure why you bothered to reply to me if "Apple TV plus programming is crap" is all you could come up with. Your OPINION is obviously not share by everyone.

quality wise(picture/audio) appletv+ is much better than Disney imo.

Yeah, no. Disney+ has all of the Star Wars films (except "Last Jedi") in 4K. Apple doesn't even have that.

What he's saying is ATV+ has better video/audio quality than Disney+. This is true. It has the highest video/audio quality of any streaming service.
