Currently the bundle is Disney+, Hulu with limited adds and ESPN for 12.99.
No word on just Disney+ and Hulu only.

"August 6, 2019
Disney is finally bundling its three streaming services and it’s going to cost you $12.99 a month.
On an earnings call Tuesday, CEO Bob Iger said that U.S. customers would be able to get Disney+, ESPN+ and ad-supported Hulu for under $15 a month."
Oh OK. But there should be no ads in a service where I’m paying a monthly fee. That’s BS.

Like I said, neither service is making it easy. Which is understandable, it is the competition.

For me, when I went to the site the countdown clock had just been replaced, and a link directing you to the app was there.

Competition? It’s integrated in the tv app. Apple would love to sell you a Disney sub. They get 2.00 a month from each one they sell you.

Yeah Hulu with ads doesn’t work for me. And ESPN + is kinda worthless. Acc network and all that. Have YouTube tv for that.

Disney looks blah to me. I get it they have classic content. None of which i want to see yet again. The new content will take a few years to ramp up.

What's your basis? Have you tried watching in 4K, Dolby Vision, Atmos? Disney+ is fine to me.
yes for all. My basis is my own eyes and ears. Quality wise appletv+ just looks way better to me for their own content. Same for audio. Everything seems less in comparison to apples service or even Netflix. Netflix audio quality improved a lot their last update they did to increase it in Atmos and 5.1. Picture wise I put disney+ and Netflix about the same but audio wise goes to Netflix. All just on my own eyes and ears. 7.2.4 setup and a Sony 900f 75".

I'll probably register...………..if I get a year free like AppleTV+
Otherwise...…….pass!

For those interested in some bitrate numbers. Service so far seems on par with your typical streaming service. Definitely not sending the same bandwidth as ATV+, but did anyone really expect that? Everything I've tested still looks good to me. Nice to see some older content in 4K as well! All tested on ATV 4K DV with NO Atmos.

Most complete means "most"

Netflix is mostly fat now. Garbage not worth the time.
I think you were going for "almost" not "most." I think any rational adult would consider Netflix, Hulu, HBO, or Amazon's library the "most" (as in utmost) complete library. Netflix is mostly garbage and fat, if you ignore the still existing backlog they have. Disney, by that standard is a barren wasteland.

Eh. The production quality of For All Mankind is good-not-great. They should have reassigned the budget from See, which is a bad show, to FAM.
[automerge]1573568876[/automerge]

And even if it's not, there's just no real ATV+ content.
The production quality on FAM is off the charts - are you kidding? Have you seen what they have done with the moon, rocket launch takeoffs? Have you seen the attention to detail in costume and period piece details? Bonkers.

Glad to know my eyes and ears still work correctly.
Can you post one with See and another with an atmos Netflix movie?

This x 10.

Far Better than appletv+ at launch. Just waiting now for verizon to email me so I could take advantage of their 1 year free promotion.
Verizon's offer is up and running now, just visit:

I call shenanigans by Apple.

I just went onto the App Store on my iPhone, specifically searched for "Disney+" to download it, and it's located 30 apps down the list. I almost thought the app wasn't out yet.

Intentional burying, perhaps?

Is Apple making hard for people to get the Disney+ app? I literally thought I was doing something wrong when on both my ATV4K and my iPhone, I search for "Disney+" and...nothing.

Come to find out, on my iPhone, Disney+ app was #30 down a list of apps. Literally searched for "Disney+" and it was #30 down the list!

Same, but not quite so lost on the ATV.

Is there some shenanigans going on here?

And, the Disney+ site should have links to the apps so you can at least know what you're searching for. Instead they just list devices, but no links to apps FOR those devices.

Haha, I just saw your comment a couple pages back. Same for me. Looks like Apple is playing games.

Disney+, Hulu with limited adds and ESPN for 12.99.... Is it ONLY through the Disney website?

I cannot find this as an in app purchase on the iPhone app.

I see the 6.99/69.99 offers but NOT the 3 bundled for 12.99.

I may have missed this, but is it only available on the Website?

thanks

Oh, ATV+ is definitely the leader in streaming bitrate - by far. But you kind of expect that from Apple. I'm really hoping other providers step up their bitrates now that Apple has done it. Most of what I've seen on D+ still looks really good, it's just that Apple took it up a notch. However, at the end of the day, if the show is compelling, the bitrate is nice, but not critical, as long as it doesn't dip too low.

Here are some screens taken by someone else of The Morning Show and See:

I don't have an Atmos setup, so I can't take any samples with Atmos, sorry.

I believe so. However the website is not working. Spinning Circle. Has anyone been successfully able to sign up for the bundle today?

Disney+ appears to remove the ambiguity and potentially prove that it's technically possible to dynamically label content based on the capabilities of the attached equipment.

4K HDR content is labeled "HDR10" for me, but I've seen screenshots showing "Dolby Vision" for the same content.
My Samsung TV does not support Dolby Vision 🙄
On the iPad app I see 4K content labeled "HD"

This is nice because Apple movies and TV+ content does not do this. They only label "HDR" or "Dolby Vision", leaving me wondering if I'm getting HDR10 (in either case).

Can anyone with Dolby Vision capability confirm? Avengers Endgame, for example, shows me 4K HDR10 Atmos. Does it say "Dolby Vision" for you (on a 4K Apple TV)?

Minor side complaint:
The Mandalorian is not in Atmos 😐

Really? I mean, I watched Rogue One in 4K HDR and it's pretty amazing.

There's really no comparison between Apple TV Plus and Disney Plus. Disney is just so much better. In fairness, though, AppleTV Plus is more like HBO Now than Disney Plus.
In video quality there is a comparison and ATV+ takes the crown. It's no contest. You can look at the bitrates and see a pretty large difference there alone. Even my own eyeball test shows a big quality difference between the two. Disney+ looks more like Netflix. ATV+ looks more like a disc played on my oppo 203.

As a service I don't think they can be compared. Disney has a century of content. Even without buying star wars and marvel and fox they still had a century head start. So they're going to have more out of the gate. However the only series I see worth watching(currently available) is the mandalorian. And by now most of us own all those movies they have. I have all the star wars and marvel movies and many of the others they have.

ATV+ has to build content from the ground up. Netflix used everyone elses content for many years before they started building up their own library so they had an easy start.

Hulu has a ad free option for a higher fee. If you already subscribe to Hulu and register for the Disney+ bundle with the same email address you keep your Hulu account separate and receive a 5.99 credit each month.

HDR10 and HDR are the same thing. If your TV doesn't support DV and the app says HDR, that's HDR10.
Yes, endgame show as dolby vision for me.

By default, HDR is always HDR10. If the movie has Dolby Vision, then it will play as Dolby Vision if your TV supports it. Otherwise, it defaults to HDR10.
