If you can't see the relationship with any of the streaming services that compete with ATV+ for subscription dollars... a lot of other stuff on this site is going to be just as baffling to you.

It's not that the articles are unrelated to Apple. It's that you aren't seeing the connections. Not everything on this site is verbatim out of Cupertino. Never has been, never will be. In fact I know of no Apple-centric site that does that.

You can conjure up any kind of connection. The brand of toilet paper in the Foxconn bathrooms is relevant because Foxconn is a manufacturer. So now MR should start writing articles about toilet paper.

The common thread is most Apple users couldn't care less about what Samsung, Spotify, or Disney are doing. It's just fodder for forum trolls.

Okay fine but don’t mess with the four simultaneous stream part of the deal or were out.

They had a terrible first year whereas Apple TV had a tremendous first year, but D+ is killing it with the new stuff this year. Neither can touch Netflix yet though. Or HBO Max for that matter.
See, I have no desire to keep HBO. No one is watching it but My parents. D+ we will keep. How else will my 16yo binge her way through the Suite Life of Zach and Cody and Wizards of Waverly place??? 🤣🤣🤣

We’ve learned to expect these constant increases. No contract equals a license to increase subscriptions as often as the want to.

Disney+ is okay for younger folks (especially children) and Star Wars fans. I personally found very little of interest for me though.

ESPN+ is a big waste of money in my case. I do watch a bit of live sports on occasion, but this service is not for those who watch a lot of live sports.

Hulu is the best of these three for me, but like any streaming service I usually run out of enough stuff to watch after a few months. The same goes for Netflix and other services. After a few months the new stuff runs low and these services are no longer worth a monthly subscription. So with Hulu, Netflix, Britcom, etc., I tend to get them for two or three months then cancel for several months until they get enough new stuff worth streaming. I usually stagger them and subscribe to only one at a time.

Why conjure anything when the obvious connections to Apple already exist in pretty much any story on this site. No need for silly hyperbolic examples. A few dismissive individuals not wanting to see certain content is definitely not a reason to only show 100% Apple content. No site does that because it's myopic and insular. Pretty sure you can't find one either.

Not sure who these "most Apple users" are you're referencing but I'm pretty sure they only exist in your imagination. It's a fairly easy bet to place (and win) that most Apple users don't lack the intellectual curiosity required to be only focused on Apple singularly. But hey, you can believe what you want to believe. MR is going to continue to post on a wide range of topics and the members will continue to engage in a wide range of commentary. You and those like you, who only want all Apple all the time, can simply click on articles you deem sufficiently Apple. Just ignore the offending articles. No harm, no foul.

The Imagineering Series was fantastic (will, if you are interesting in park building).

But all the back catalog that yes we own - on laser disc or VHS - at our fingers in high res? yes please. Of course, I have the teens that were sad our WDW passes expired during the shutdown. We are on the 3 year deal and will renew that when it expires.

Different strokes for different folks... not watching HBO like I thought I would and it’s the most expensive, forgot I did CBS, peacock via Comcast is Watched. I’ll reevaluate all of those others in the coming months.

That's an unreasonably broad scope for a niche website called MacRumors. That would necessarily include articles about GM, Ford, VW, Peloton, Fitbit, Amazon, Google, FaceBook. Yet I don't recall any new articles about the Volkswagen ID4 or the new Mustang EV, or about the new Peloton bike.

People might have some peripheral interest in hardware that directly competes with an iPhone or IPad or Mac, but most people don't come to an Apple-themed news site to learn what Ford, Peloton, or Disney are doing.

Imagine picking up an issue of Car and Driver and seeing articles about Apple TV because Apple is developing a car. Or picking up Runner's World and reading about the new Mac Pro. Articles about CarPlay and Apple Watch might make sense in those publications, but at some point it gets ridiculous.
As a new member you can ask for your subscription money back... Oh Wait🤣

It is a big deal. Disney subscription is not the only thing going up in price.
Gas (for home, heating, cooking etc)
Gas (for your vehicles)
Water
Electricity
Groceries
Property taxes
Phone bill
Tuitions
Clothing
And the list goes on and on...

And everything else in general thanks to inflation.
So, yes, it is a big deal when you add everything up and now your paying literally hundreds more but your salary does not follow COL or inflation. Get a grip.

Actually the more you add up the less of a big deal it is, especially if everything else is going up as well.

If your ONLY bill was Disney, then yes, percentage-wise it's a "big deal"

And so it begins... *sigh*
When have prices ever gone down? There will eventually be an apocalyptic shakeout of all these subscription services. People will reach a point where they settle on one or two and that’s it. The age of cord cutting is coming to an end when it costs you more to cut the cord than to keep the cable account.

In the UK, we were rather aghast to see Wernher von Braun on television chatting about rockets. My hometown was the recipient of many of his unfortunate inventions. A long time ago I know, but then Donald Duck is 86.

I’m sure the answer is no, but just in case, is there a way to add years to the 3 year D23 subscription? Like stacking? If so, I’d add another 3 years right now as my kids will be using this for years to come.

It's a shame to see how far Pixar has fallen since being swallowed by the mouse. Sequels galore.
Whatever, their non-sequel movies have been great. The sequels are bad but can be ignored. It's not like Star Wars where they actually killed a good franchise through low standards and over-milking, except for its TV show people say is good but I wouldn't know.

Still loving my $3.92/mo for 36 months deal I got right before they launched. Hopefully I will be considered a "Charter MemberZ" and get a good renewal deal in 2022!
I too got in early. I will renew if that kind of deal I offered. If not, I won't renew. I have a lot of purchases and persona rips to keep me busy. I really don't need a streaming service.

Lol.
How to increase annual income by (100m subscribers x $1 each x 12 months = ) $1.2 billion dollars per year...
With yearly subs and students, let's say a round $1bn?

Anyone got a Dr Evil gif?

Cable TV is going to look attractive again soon, it will be cheaper than all of these subscription services, if people subscribe to multiple services.
If people are cord cutting to save money versus paying for cable, and then they sign up for every streaming service simultaneously, then they are doing it wrong.

Besides, for just the cost of renting a few HD STB from the cable company, one could subscribe to multiple streaming services and have access to more content than they would ever be able to access via cable.

Also..... why is this stuff on “MacRumors” seems unrelated to anything Apple?
It’s so that we can bash Disney+ for the price hike. Have you seen how many stories about Intel have been posted lately and how many comments those threads get? Lots of clicks and lots of competitor-bashing!
