out of curiosity, how would you logically minimize the amount of space required by all of this stuff:

that's a lot of necessary things being crammed into a relatively tiny space.. without seeming crammed.

how would you do it better?

.

I would rather they just made it a black line at the top where the line would hide the notch, and the white notifications/status would lay on top ... That's just me though

You need a 3rd option. It doesn't bother me but I wouldn't go as far as to say I "like" it. It is what it is. I would choose no notch over a notch but I would choose a notch over a bezel. I don't really look at the notch as cutting into my screen, I more so look at the "ears" as cutting into the bezel.

Just feel like that would make it look like a Samsung glalaxy phone and maybe they wanted to try something different.

Of course not. Anyone who says they do is either lying or simply a sheep.

However, I don’t hate it as much as I thought I would. During actual phone usage, it’s barely noticeable since you’re focusing on content, mostly toward the middle of the screen.

But in pictures, or just looking at the phone in general... it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Although it doesn’t bother me as much I think it’s pretty cheesy.
