I don't have issue with anyone getting a free case since Apple is offering them to its customers as "compensation".

I think it doesn't sit well with me that people are not only accepting the offer but profiteering off of the offer who ALSO deemed those that had a genuine issue as whiners and complainers.

I'm sorry if other people don't agree with me. And I doubt any of those so vocal and argumentative would even admit that they were a hypocrite. I just "wonder" how many there are and if they realize that they ARE, indeed, hypocrites. :)

Perhaps these "hypocrites" thought that the antenna complaints were a non-issue because, like me, they already intended to put a case on their phone just as they have done with every iPhone they've ever purchased. Apple offers a free case... ;) Luckily instead of whining I just paid for a bumper, and now I'm sitting nicely with a free one on my phone w/o having to wait for one to ship.

Those aren't the people I'm talking about. I think we both know the "kind" of person I'm referring to.

hey OP!

just dropping back in to let you know that the funds made it to my account today for my refunded bumper, and my free griffin case is still set for august. man I'm so proud..

HI!

My funds made it to my account also. So I went online to cancel the free order, but it wouldn't let me cancel it. I guess I will have to call them to cancel it.

Is anyone else who received the refund going to cancel their free case order? Or not order one at all? Because, I really think that if you got the refund, you should cancel the order. The website won't let you do it, you have to call. To cancel. The order. cancel. Cancel.

Some of us are getting lots of cases. I had 3 cases refunded and 2 free ones on the way

Apple didnt seem to feel the least bad selling me 3 pieces of plastic for $90+ so I don't feel bad that this iPhone situation came back to bite them in the ass and the plastic pieces arent costing me anything. Their true cost for those 5 bumpers are probably under $10

Antenna issue aside - you object to Apple making a profit on their products? Just curious.

In a way, yes he is criticizing them for making a profit. However, I'm pretty sure he isn't against making a profit lol, I think that's what you're trying to bring out. All he is saying is that they are not worth $30 plain and simple.

I REALLY think I'm getting away with it. Got refunded for my bumper and received my order confirmation for my FREE griffin reveal graphite. Woohoo:D

P.s. I didn't ask for my money back, I love my bumper. But who am I to complain.[/

Wow. I'm impressed. Those feebies will really change your lifestyle won't they!

Got refunded for both of my bumpers and my order for free case is still on the way.

Not canceling my free case order. Selling it when it arrives as I'm doing with my refunded bumpers.

Looks like I'm getting three free cases.

Got a refund on the one I bought.

Apple sent me a free one (bugged Apple Care on June 25).

Third one ordered via App (chose Griffin case this time).

Not sure what I will do with so many.

Did you really take the time to make this up yourself?

gehrbox is actually not making that up. Delete and redownload the free case program app and check under terms and conditions. they have changed.

my second free case is still on order though.

Why make up something when I can highlight and copy the text from the app for the iphone that you use to file the claim.

How hard would it be for any of you to verify? There is a button on the app screen that is called 'Terms and conditions.

Check it out Mr. Wizard. Prove me wrong!

Apples website still doesn't say it's not allowed, and I sure as hell am not wasting my time downloading the app again for this. If they change the terms now, so be it. My order was placed before that there for I really don't give a damn.

It is interesting that Apple updated the terms and conditions for the app but not the website.

Anyway, these terms and conditions apply only to new downloaders of the app.

If you ordered before the change, more likely than not you will receive a second free case. End of story.

If you order now, you'll probably have a high chance of getting a second free case if you use different methods of payment for the cases.

So they changed the terms in the actual app after I used it to order my case and deleted the app. How does this change anything for those of us who already ordered our cases?

It doesn't change anything for us really. Apple may or may not cancel our orders if they can verify that we've ordered two free cases. If they don't, then they are trying to stop people from ordering two free cases from now on.

It's really weird that they have yet to update the website terms and conditions though. That's rather sloppy of them (as is adding a new term in the first place to the app only).

I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens here. Looks like another storm brewing on the horizon for Apple...

I got my refund for my bumper today and ordered the free case a couple of days ago... Does this mean I will not get my case?

One of the following will happen:

Apple will cancel you order
-or-
Apple will ship your order without billing you.
-or-
Apple will ship your order AND bill you for the case.

Though I think it unlikely you will be billed, if only because Apple wants to avoid another media circus.
