In a way. I can slow my breathing down to 2-3 breaths a minute which slows my heart rate down, taking more breaths from that point makes both breathing and heart rate faster.
I do fell running which is a particularly precise sport. One false foot and you've sprained it with the nearest civilisation miles away. You need full mind and body control for that.

Well, aside from trivial things that you clearly can't control like heart beat, cell generation, toenail growth, I think the larger fallacy is that you are "in control" of your thoughts, your mind etc. seeing as those things which we may beleive we 'control' are much more contextually dependent than we like to think. I've yet to meet someone who has never said "What the hell was I thinking?!" or some such approximation of that. Please don't tell me you never have or I will be inclined to believe you are computerized and have actually biologically installed error correction. :D

Perhaps this is splitting hairs, but what you describe is advanced coordination, not control as such.

All that aside, I'm not encouraging you to try any mind altering substances.

 Your school does drug testing?! Where are you? That is surely an illegal invasion of privacy (as, in my opinion, it should be for most jobs).
If you want to do extracurricular activities (Band, Sports, etc.), Yes unfortunately. The school district I'm in tries far too hard to be the "best".
if she goes to a private school then her student contract probably mentions the use of drug testing.
Nope, public.

My favourite: White Russian.
And the drink is also very tasty.

My mom does it, my dad does it, and my brother does it...
One time we had stuff that was straight purple, no lie. It was $35 a gram. We found this black guy who rolled the biggest blunt I've ever seen. He must have been licking that f*cker for 10 minutes... Ahh. I haven't smoked since July '09.(When I turned 16). I have been applying for jobs like crazy, and have been drug tested 5 times...Still no job.

I smoked weed quite abit when I was in my early teens to early twenties. Then one day I had only $20 to my name and I just couldnt decide whether I should buy diapers for my son or buy another bag of weed. That was the day my pot smoking stopped and I haven't touched it since.

Good choice. I haven't touched it in almost 20 years.

Listen, you did the right thing by quitting the weed. Dont get discouraged because you havent gotten a job yet. One will come along, just keep on going forward in a positive direction and positive things will happen for you. My son is 18 now and he smoked weed from age 16-17 and he ended up on probation because he thought it was cool to smoke weed and go to school with his friends all stoned. When he turned 18, he quit and has been applying for jobs everyday too. It takes time so be patient and pat yourself on the back for quitting.

recipe/instructions? I have made nothing but a mess in my attempts:(

There is plenty of info on this all over the net but I'll get you started with canna oil (which is easier and more effective than canna butter, in my experience).

Get yourself either clarified butter (ghee) or pure coconut oil. Coconut oil is a solid at room temperature but melts easily when warmed. You can even find it on eBay if you have trouble finding it at a health food store. I prefer coconut oil because it's just nice and it's also high in saturated fat (but not bad for you). That's a good thing because the cannabis needs fat to bond to. (this is also why it is detectable in your system for so long, it sticks around in fat cells) A lot of morons think that just dumping some weed into their brownie mix is enough. It's not and can in fact be utterly useless.

If you make your canna oil right, there is very little weed waste. I use just slightly more than I would if I were smoking it and my cookies knock people on their asses for about 6 or 7 hours. Some people weigh it, I have no such scales so I just eye-it/guess.

Right so measure out your weed. Like I said, plan on using just a little more than you would smoking it and dose that out per cookie/brownie/whatever. Grind it really well but don't entirely powder-ize it because it makes it hard to strain out later. I have a coffee grinder that exists solely to grind cannabis for baking purposes.

Warm your oil on the stove/hob. Put your ground-up weed in it. Simmer it on medium to low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. It will turn the oil greenish brown.

After that strain it out with a metal mesh thing. Throw out the sludge. It's the oil you want.

Allow the oil to cool a little. Use it in whatever it is you are cooking that requires oil.

Viola! <- (I've answered this question before ;-))

I wonder what % of weed smokers also smoked cigarettes on a regular basis. Tobacco is the nasty bit IMO.

It's weird but a lot of people think/wonder this. I don't smoke cigarettes. Just because I smoke weed doesn't mean I am out looking for other crap to smoke.

Some people are smoking Salvia now. Anyone here tried it?

It's mostly intended as a Shamanistic substance and doesn't always do great things to everybody. Salvia is not comparable to weed at all.

I wouldn't call it a "new" drug. It's a plant that's been around for quite a while, but it definitely is gaining popularity.

I don't understand why many substances are illegal. For example, salvia is becoming illegal in more and more places. Why? It doesn't cause any long term damage. You don't get addicted to it. You don't get all hopped up and violent on it, and even if it did make you feel violent good luck standing up.

Trying to understand the legal status on "drugs" is something that is sure to really annoy a logical mind. It's purely political and often based on bad information and governmental urge to control teh people. Frustrating.

Saw a boy in casualty last night after he smoked some "dodgy" and started feeling unwell afterwards. Needless to say I wasn't terribly impressed with him. Given how funny this website is about having hacked OS forums I'm very surprised that threads that contain cooking instructions for illegal drugs are tolerated.

I'm disappointed in all of you.

That's a shame for him. Maybe if the UK had a little more logic and fewer lies and agendas behind the laws with cannabis there would be less dodgy weed going around. As it happens now we have shady dealers and propaganda over truth and freedom of choice.

If you think weed is so bad, tell me how many alcohol related incidents you typically see to the number of weed ones?

You're disappointed? So am I!

More mephadrone than anything else these days, don't get too many bad drunks (amongst the kids), and the last one was slightly more complicated than your average drunk (and, surprise, she had mephadrone on board too). Arguing that a worse drug is legal does not justify the legislation of anything, it merely serves as a cautionary tale showing that maybe legalising something won't make the problems magically go away.

One person's dodgy cannabis is another person's stronger stuff. It could well have been the strongest cannabis he'd ever smoked; it certainly hadn't been any good for him.

I never smoked anything, and I don't intend to. I just don't see the point. :)

I'm surprised that the majority here haven't smoked weed. Could there be sample bias?

You're harshing my buzz.

Meth ≠ Pot. Not even close. Things are made illegal by people, not by a higher being. So, yeah, there are definitely degrees of legality when it comes to drugs.

We're all adults, if I want to smoke some pot instead of having a beer, that should be my right.

Hopefully, people will vote properly in the fall to legalize it here in California.

I haven't touched the stuff in years, but I still think that it should be just as legal as alcohol.

Happy 420, ya bunch of crazy hippie potheads.:p
