I hope none of you will ever become politicians.

For the record I'm proud to say I've never smoked anything, not even a cigar or cigarette. I have, however, smoked opponents in ping-pong.

I'm 30, BTW.

Sounds like a bit of a dull life so far then...

I smoke when I can get it. Usually this means I'll do it once or twice a week. I tried the whole daily thing for a little while, but I find that the experience is better after you take a few days off. Maybe that's just me. Gotta be kind of discrete with it though, the school loves it's drug testing.

And BTW, Salvia is great for 5 minutes of tripping balls. :D

 Your school does drug testing?! Where are you? That is surely an illegal invasion of privacy (as, in my opinion, it should be for most jobs).

Nope. I'm 17 and never have, never will. Same with alcohol.

1) I'm a born again Christian, and 2) I don't like being without full control of my mind/body. Had to take painkillers after a surgery I had and I HATED it.

I tried all of those things and I have to tell you, you must at least try sex with other people!

But seriously, painkillers after surgery play an important role in the recovery and healing process. Pain is bad, pain cost energy. Painkillers can be legitimate. But I actually envy about the alcohol and the drugs. At least, where binge drinking is concerned. I would still drink wine with my dinners in my second life.

I have no regrets smoking pot when I did back in the late 60's and throughout the 70's. It was a different time back them. Everybody I knew smoked pot. If I had to do it over today would I do it? no way!. I survived that time in my life and I'm happy to say I'm a healthy 57 year old

Even though I'm in high school, I've (surprisingly) never smoked anything before. I've been wanting to try it just because I'm a curious person, but I've just always preferred other things instead.

I've always found this comment to be odd. Who is ever in full control of their body (mind is a part of it so I won't make the same distinction)?

Christians take (illicit) drugs too, by the way. I'm not questioning your beliefs, but your rationale seems a bit sketchy.

I am, which is why I don't take mind altering drugs. Hell recently I had to take some Co-codamol and it messed with my mind. I was just sat working and then I got lightheaded and dizzy. Wasn't fun, kinda realised that the pain I was feeling wasn't as bad as these pills so I stopped taking them.
No sir I like full constant control of my mind and body.

You can control your heart beat? I want a recording of you beating your heart to the beat of jingle bells, please.

To suggest that marijuana is bad because you somehow lose control of yourself is ridiculous. It's quite the logical fallacy to assume you are ever in control of yourself. 'You' are a construct of your body and mind. Body and mind are one in the same, body through and trough. Food affects the way you think and feel, light affects the way you feel, etc. etc. Control is just a comforting delusion.

In a way. I can slow my breathing down to 2-3 breaths a minute which slows my heart rate down, taking more breaths from that point makes both breathing and heart rate faster.
I do fell running which is a particularly precise sport. One false foot and you've sprained it with the nearest civilisation miles away. You need full mind and body control for that.
