I've been using my Air no case, no bumper since day 1. I do love it but as to be expected the battery is terrible but I am a heavy phone user. I do love how thin it is and I think it's so chic 😍
I picked up my Air case yesterday (I owned an Air for about half a week) - and I miss it so much. Holding my 17 Pro Max for more than 20 mins hurts. I could hold that Air all day long and it was amazing.

My brain: "Maybe a ... relative... wants a 17 Pro Max.... then I can go back to an Air!" lol

I sold my Space Black Air for £800...

...And bought Sky Blue for £699

It looks as good as the promo images on Apples site.

The tone shift in different light has made it look so fresh to me.

I have the black one although now I wish I'd gotten the white for the silver frame!

Battery life is one thing, but I think the worst part of this phone is the mono speaker.

How does it affect you iPhone Air owners? Are phone calls good enough on the street? Is playing videos a good enough experience?

Does it get loud enough?

Depends on the person. For me it’s fine. Calls are super clear on speaker or ear.

Watching videos is fine as well.

Battery life has been fine for me.

The Air's max volume is maybe one or two volume button presses lower than say a Pro's, so if you find the Pro's max volume barely loud enough, then the Air will probably not be loud enough for you. I don't use speakerphone on the street, but I use the speaker for podcasts in the shower. That's the only time I use max volume and it's usually sufficiently loud enough for me. Once in awhile there's a quiet podcast in which case I turn on my bluetooth shower speaker, so loudness hasn't been an issue me. And neither has the one-sided speaker while watching landscape videos. I just don't expect to feel immersed watching videos on a phone.

And I find the Air's battery-life abundant, but I'm not a heavy user.

It is more than enough for all this things. I have no issues at all, It doesn't bother or affect me at all.

Agree, this issue gets tiring: defending the speaker all the time but here goes. It is fine for normal videos (non music), I'm completely used to it. I use AM's for music and couldn't tell the difference what phone it's connected to. If you already use air pods for 90% of your listening needs it won't matter at all.

Honestly, the crying over the mono speaker and single lens camera is incredibly overblown. Yes, if you previously owned a Pro, the battery is shorter but the phone is much nicer to hold and use.

I am more than happy with the design trade-offs, but accept I'm in the minority.

What is wrong with me!? I have a 15 Pro Max, which is more than great, but I still want an Air.

The Air is totally wrong for me, as I appreciate and use the 3 cameras of the Pro all the time. And I've never had anything other than black phones, but I like the Air in white. White!? Again, something's wrong here!

At least there's one factor in favor of the air: I barely use my phone for anything but navigation, texting and photos, so the battery life wouldn't bother me. Still...

Please stop me before I make the greatest single mistake of my ENTIRE LIFE and get an Air! 😂

Oh, and one question: Is the camera in the Air the exact same as the main camera in the 17 pro's, or is it a down-grade from that? Thanks.

I went from my 15 Pro Max to my current Air (in my case a 1TB Space Black Air) and have not had any regrets since getting mine on launch day. I do cycle around with my iPhones and have swapped in my Air after three weeks of using my 15 Pro and Pro Max iPhones. For me using the Air feels very refreshing and I enjoy just how light and thin the Air is compared to my 15 Pro/Pro Max iPhones.

The Air is not for everyone however it does share the A19 Pro and 12GB RAM that the Pro series iPhones have although the processor in the Air has one less GPU core . . . no big deal for my use case. The single 48 megapixel main "Fusion" camera has not been an issue with me as the pictures taken have been very good. I also use the Halide app for my camera and have been pleased with this so far.

Here is a comparison of the Air to the 15 Pro Max to the iPhone 17 below:

In the image above you can clearly see the differences in the camera systems between these three iPhones. I lol'd when I read you asking to be stopped before buying the Air.

Here are comparisons with the 17 Pro and then the last picture, the 17 Pro Max showing the comparisons of the camera setup between these three iPhones . . .

These comparisons come directly from Apple's website.

Here is the link to the Halide app if interested:

To answer my own question after a little research: No, the Air's camera is not the same as the Pro's. Neither is the lens, which focuses a little closer (though no macro abilities) but may have more abberations. Also, the fake background blur (which I never use) is extra-fake, since there's only one lens and thus everything has to be done unaided in software. So both are technically slightly worse in ways, though probably unnoticeably so unless you pixel-peep both.
