An interesting observation: could it be that the reason why the release date was pushed out 6 weeks past the typical release date is to amass enough stock to accommodate the launch in 30 countries?

Good point. However, if Ming-Chi Kuo is to be trusted (see the most recent article on the front page), the anticipation of the iPhone X is behind the sluggish 8/8 Plus sales.
I am 100% certain the new X model will sell out within 10 minutes in the USA. if not everywhere. supply will be low, demand high, buyers have been taught from past iphone launches to buy first and ask questions later. buyers, scalpers, flippers, etc. it will be gone.
Sadly, I'll be out of the country that day but will try and setup a VPN over my sat phone connection and pick one up at 0:00 PST on the 27th. We'll see.

I think it is safe to assume that there won't be a supply/demand balance (meaning you can walk into a store and buy a model easily) until mid next year

i am thinking there 2 reason people buyless
1- too expensive
2- beside face-id nothing else buyer interesting
thye might keep old model in there hand again ,

This is the first redesign in 3 years. It will be months within 5 minutes max.
Shipping dates will start slipping almost immediately after pre-orders start.
You have no way of knowing how the general public will react, in regards to iPhone X sales etc.

I dont think so redesign .., still look a same as 6-6s-7-8 = 4 yrs round up
Redesign mean = 3sg to 4
Redesign mean = 4-4s to 5
If you don’t get your preorder in within 3-4 minutes you’re screwed. 4-6 weeks after that.
