5-15 seconds for launch day iPhone Xs in light of the most recent news that production will not start until mid-October.

You know, its great that there is no X Plus or 3 storage size options. Can you imagine how constrained the supply would be then?

I think 64gb will be bigger seller. Last year it was the 128 cause he lowest was a 32 but now 64 is good for most people.
That’s what I’m banking on! I briefly considered going for the 64GB but I wouldn’t be able to have all my music locally, which is something I value. Plus hopefully I can snag a 256 on launch day whereas getting a 64 may be difficult.

One thing I’m worried about is the Silver actually being the most popular color, as I would imagine all the people who normally buy Silver, Gold or Rose Gold will all gravitate towards the Silver.

True. But idk I thought black would be popular like the jet black was

Rumors said X will be ship lately DEC

lucky i got 8+

There’s nothing lucky about getting an 8 Plus. Supply is still plentiful and it hasn’t even officially launched. I have every expectation of walking into most Apple stores Friday before noon and being able to walk out with a 256GB Space Gray 8 Plus.

But I’ll probably hold out for the X.

What's the quickest way to purchase? Through your carrier or through the Apple Store app? I was thinking the app since you can favorite your purchase, but I've been hearing the carrier may be faster.
The carrier sites may come online a bit faster (even several mins faster), but uniformly those who order through them and come back to gloat that their orders have been processed while the rest of us are still trying to get the damned Apple Store to load find that their ship dates slip almost immediately. almost happened to me for the 6 Plus launch, I think--I couldn't get the Apple Store to come up and AT&T's site was up and running at like 2:55 am or so; I had everything entered and selected and was about to hit the "buy" button when I noticed that it was already saying it would ship in 2-3 weeks. Went back to the AS app, which had opened by then, and was able to order for launch day delivery.

Here is vote ......

Tim Cook said in his recent interview that he’s not expecting customers will pay full price for X. But will go with installments and lots of companies selling phones on installments. I think it will sell out quickly within 5 -10 minutes because they can cancel the order anytime if mind changes. After ordering lot of thinking.

So all the people saying it will be like 30 seconds, how can people even complete orders that fast? Just out of curiosity I decided to see how quickly I could get to the confirmation stage of an iPhone 8 preorder and even with all my account info already there it took like a minute and a half.

People are not going to divulge their secrets. We are in a competition to beat each other to get the minuscule quantity of launch day phones.

I just did a test run for the iPhone 8 and on the Apple Store app was able to get to the place order screen in 1 min and 45 seconds. That was with ordering 2 phones. It took 40 seconds for it to connect to my carrier, so if I wasn’t placing an order through my carrier and if I would’ve only did 1 phone, I could’ve did it in a minute. I also tried Verizon’s website and it took 58 seconds to get to the Check Out screen. I don’t know if there’s any additional stuff after Check out or if that is actually placing the order, but I didn’t want to click just in case it did place an order. I think I’m going to have 2 devices open and try both. It may add an additional few seconds being on 2 devices.

Did you save the phone as a Favorite beforehand?

Got it to 26 seconds on the Verizon site.

I think this will be a completely different experience though on Verizon's site with the amount of traffic on their servers with this iPhone X launch. It might take a little bit longer than that.

Selling out quickly? No.

Having artificial supply constraints to make it appear that way? yes.

The ignorance of somebody that doesn't understand what artificial supply even means or is improperly using it in the context that you are. Please, understand the difference between what artificial supply is and having equitable stock available.
