Ok an update on my problem with battery drain in sleep mode. As I mentioned in the last post I put the iPad into airplane mode before putting it to sleep this morning. Opened it up just now after over 12 hours and the battery hasn't dropped at all!!!!

So is this what people are doing when they say their iPads don't drop any battery percentage overnight??? Are you guys putting it in airplane mode??? Or do I maybe have an issue with the iPad's wifi that is causing the battery to drain in sleep mode.

Cheers

Dave.

Dave, since you tried air plane mode and it didn't drain drop any battery..
I'll ask you this: Have you tried closing some of the apps that run in the background? I assume that you have a lot of apps running in the background that need to be connected to the internet. Like Maps, Reminders, etc location based apps. So close the apps and then test again, without going in air plane mode.

As for being on topic, I don't turn my things off. They don't need to be turned off. They go through the whole day, while they charge at night. And my computer simply goes to sleep mode within 15mins of no use.

I do turn it off, but for 2 reasons:
1: I'm running low on battery, and I know I won't be able to charge it for a long time. (Maybe at a concert or somethif) I'll turn it off for later use.
2: RAM needs a refresh.

Other than that, no reason to turn an iPad or iPhone off really. Computers I understand for some, electricity bill might get too high for them. But I'm fine with mine being on.
I want to have quick access to all my devices the moment I need to use them.

When I'm charging it. Charges faster that way.

Impossible. If you turn it off and plug in the charger, the iPad turns itself back on. Unless there's a setting I'm unaware of that changes that behavior.

Anyway, I can't believe how many people do this. I have found on both the iPad 2 and 3 that not using it is virtually the same drain on the battery as turning it off. I've left it for days before and not had the battery go down even 1%.

If I turn my ipad 3 off and plug it in it stays off til I turn it back on. Now my ipad 1 would turn itself back on when I turned it off and plugged it back in.
Not sure if either is a flaw??

As far as, ever turning it off, on occasion, maybe once a month.

I plug it in and then I turn it off.

If I turn it off and then plug it in, it turns back on. But when I plug it in first then turn it off, it doesn't.

I've noticed over the last few days that my boyfriend turns his off as soon as he's done using it. So weird.
