Your numbers show the 5.4” to be bigger and heavier, unless my eyes deceive me.

And what is with writing like the old days, when you are using a fine Apple Mac, iPad or iPhone? :p

Because that person is "Old School Kewl" Question is..what did he use? Parker Ball Point, Blue, #7 point. ;)

I've been slowly decreasing the size of my iPhones over the past few years (from an 8 Plus, to a XS Max, to an 11) and I've been increasingly enjoying my experience.

I would have considered going for a standard, non-Max Pro model this year if they kept it at 5.8", but I will likely be going for the 5.4" model this year.
I “downgraded”, happily, back to the 5.8” size. I originally had the lovely iPhone x , then attempted the Xr, then to the iP11. I kept “longing” lol for OLED!! LONG LIVE OLED!! 😘
The space grey 5.8” is a happy medium between 5.4” and 6.1”.

i would beed to actually hold the 5.4” to know IF I’d jive wit it!!

Soon we shall know...

be safe! 😷

Too fluid to be a Bic. lol Parker Ball sounds right or in the right ball park. :D

I am old school as well. However, when it comes to tech, I make full use of it as I can.
Need to change the Blue to Black ink....;) And, Yes, I love my Tech too!

No. After 3 years with an iPhone X after having 7 Plus and 6 Plus phones, I’ll likely go with the 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max.

Pre-summary: For aging eyes, the OLED display (not on 1Phone 11 but presumably on all iPhone 12s), in my experience, provides crisper text thus is easier to read.

I owned an iPhone XS Max With OLED display. It was, as I saw it, too big and cumbersome. So I sold it and bought an iPhone 11 AND an iPad.

With the XS Max, the first thing in the morning I would do is pick it up and read the news, not bothering to put on my glasses. With the iPhone 11 (true, the screen isn't quite as large), the next thing I know I'm picking up my glasses. I believe the difference has most to do with the crispness of the text on the OLED screen.

I'm going to try the 5.4" iPhone 12 with OLED. If that doesn't work for morning reading, I'll do what I've been doing more recently anyhow, just putting the iPhone back on my bed-stand and grabbing my iPad - and - leaving the glasses where they are (when I was younger, in my 70s, this vision thing wasn't such a hassle).

On the other hand, if it weren't for wanting a camera, I'd love to not have a phone at all and just have an Apple Watch and my IPP (if it were possible to pair them)-- that part of me likes the idea of minimizing my phone as much as possible.
This is what I’ve been daydreaming about as well. As I currently conduct myself, there are loads of little things I do throughout my day with my phone that the watch can’t do (or it’s impractical) and I just don’t see myself pulling out my iPad for. But would it be so bad if I couldn’t compulsively check email or respond on slack right away? Maybe it would make me more deliberate about the things I do.

Funny, you got me to remembering way back when starting 5th grade at L.A.'s Palms school, going through the rite of passage, coming into the classroom and finding a wooden pen and nib on our desk, and finding that that round hole in the upper right corner of our desk now contained a true, honest to goodness, full to the brim, inkwell.

I’m interested but also unsure.

It will come down the features and price personally. I like the idea of having the best camera. But may still comprise on that. I remember back in iPhone 5 days all I wanted was a bigger screen.

Now I have an iPad and Apple Watch. I use Apple Pay and in my state in Australia we also have online ID. So my wallet has become a tiny card hold which if anything has made me notice how huge phone feels and I’m using an iPhone X.

This year’s 5.4”phone is the first iPhone I’ve cared about since the 2017 iPhone SE. Everything since has been too big for my preferences, and practically don’t exist as far as I’m concerned.

iPhone 4s is my EDC. YES a 5.4 iPhone12 form factor is a BUY. BUT not if the S.S. band and glass back are swapped out for the painted trash can look shown in prototypes.

Can you really see Apple painting the sides though? When have Apple ever released a poorly finished iPhone apart from the black iPhone 5? Not likely is it?

My thoughts exactly!!! I've had the original SE since 2016 and the longed-for a smaller phone but unwilling to shell out $$$ for a top tier smallish iPhone 11 Pro.

I blame Samsung for starting the stupid trend of big ass phones.

It seems all but certain the 5.4" size is coming and will sell very well. I think the battery might be the weak spot, but we shall see. I'm hoping for at least a couple hours more than the battery life on the 2020 SE.

In all honesty, if a battery life is an issue for you, that probably means you are actually spending too much time on your phone. Take a break, see the life and not the screen with pixels. No offence btw!

On the other hand, if this device uses 5nm technology, these ICs will require less power to do the job. It's my guess that if the battery is indeed smaller, it's because Apple has determined that less battery is required as a result of the 5nm technology improvements.

I'd love to see what criteria Apple uses to determine what's "sufficient" battery capacity (which we'll never know...).

Fingers crossed the battery isn't smaller (for any of the new models). I know it won't happen, but I'd love to see a 3500mAh (or larger) battery in the new 5.4" phone!

I think it might be 2500mAH

When I came from using a Samsung S9, which I think is around 5.8", I knew I wanted something smaller that could ride in my pocket better. Enter the SE 2020. It sits in my pocket MUCH easier and with the added benefit of it being in a wallet styled case (which has eliminated a need to carry a wallet in my back pocket), then all the better!

As someone who uses his iPhone to replace a couple of devices I for one like the larger size. But I can definitely see the want/need for something smaller.

I am thinking about it last 2 months, but I would miss my unbeatable 11 battery life

That’s me as well. I used to have the 11 Pro that I had for almost 4 months and it was somewhat pocketable but the SE 2020 is comfortably pocketable.

Although I would prefer flagship features I’m not sacrificing comfortably pocketable.

I don’t want a phone that sticks out of my work pants cell phone pocket like it did with the 11 Pro. I like how well the SE 2020 fits perfectly in the back pockets of my Levi’s selvedge jeans. I also like if needed the SE 2020 fits nicely in my t-shirt pocket.

Now I will admit if I preferred minimalist cases like the Pitaka then the 11 Pro could work. But in my line of work I need a more protective case like my go to Magpul Bump case. My SE 2020 in a Magpul Bump case is the same size as an 11 Pro in a Pitaka case.
