Bought today an iPhone 5s and .... I rattles :D

It's something under the power button, it's not the button itself.
If you keep the power button pressed , you can't hear the noise.

I'm not going to return it, while the power button is working properly. Maybe after 10-11 months I will return it under warranty to receive a refurbished unit with a brand new battery :D

Exact same issue here.

Getting a replacement is not worth the trouble as all iPhone's have this issue?

No rattle ....yet ( probably jinxed now :p )

Got a few ' are you retarded ? ' looks while checking for it at the Apple store!!!

After a few weeks of normal usage I can definitely say this is just another "non issue".
There is absolutely no rattle in any video I did, and I can actually hear that sound only in a very silent room shaking the phone.
Not exactly the way I'm using a 900$ smartphone :D

Does anyone have an iPhone 5s that DOESN'T rattle?

You actually filmed it?? Oh mighty Mjölner. And yet you heard the sound. Like I did as well, and many, many more around this Apple-globe. Time to live the life people. Looking for a needle on a open field will turn into a eternity. ;)

I recently ordered a 5s and it rattled like a babies toy. I could even hear a clicking sound inside the phone when I had the phone against my ear when tilting my head either way.
Its definitely one of the worst. I could hear it rattle before I even got it out of the box in fact!

The more people complain rather than put up, the more it will hurt Apple and they are more likely to do something about it. Ive got another 5S on its way and I insisted it was a full retail replacement and not a OEM blank box replacement as it wasn't even a day old when I called them up.

I must admit the hassle of getting it exchanged as regards to courier inconvenience etc is probably the only reason why I might put up with it, if it happens again.

Is it true that some foxconn factories have a better quality rating than others? I.E factory DN is better than say FL? I must admit my 4s from factor DN has been solid as a rock!

Pure BS…….everyone says Samsung phones are crap because they are plastic…then out comes the 5c and all of a sudden plastic phones are cool now……..because they come in pretty colors? I think it is just funny what people say to justify their choices……...

Theres plastic and then theres plastic!

Believe it or not, Apple even have a good quality plastic!

Android phones are toys! End of!!

So says you…..except that those plastic phones out sell all other phones! End of!
My IP5s is my my favorite….but it is so fragile…that the first thing i did was put a case on it.

And yet the other one will have same "defect" and the other one after the other one and the other one after those two the other ones till you have sent back and forth 20 iPhone 5S.

I myself feel even more stupid than ever that I even bothered to visit this useless thread, or especially that I've sent my first 5S and got one back who was exactley the same.

And your point is ?

Yes, forgot to tell it in my post. Sorry. My point is that you have same thing like everyone else. :) And everyone around the world who has 5S. It's just lame to deny it, or even to try. And no, there is still no such thing as "perfect phone." Nokia 3210 and 3310 was that once upon in time. Maybe even N95. But now? Nope. No matter what brand or OS, it will ALWAYS be flaws. ;)

What I'm saying is that this is not an issue and it doesn't affect my real usage in any way....

I have to shake it to hear the rattle sound ... and there is absolutely no reason to shake a smartphone

Same here. I don't have or had any issue in first place and I also need to shake the phone to hear that. No, but we idiots did it anyway because of some other idiot/s before us who pressed at panic-button and scaled up entire situation. That's the paradox. :)

So my advice is to everyone is to enjoy of the phone, cause it's really great. I love it and I probably will buy iPhone 6S as well.

I don't bother to check my phone rattles. It's such a minor issue that I don't bothered with.

Just purchased 64gb model and have the rattle. Hmm...I'll mention it when I'm at the apple store today.

But why? Is it even worth it? They'll tell You exactly same thing as we already know here. Don't waste your time, enjoy it!

It's funny that I mentioned the rattle to my wife and asked her to check her 5c. She just kind of stared at me for a second and stated, "have you been reading that mac forum again?" Lol. I'm an apple fan for years, so she's been dealing with me agonizing over product issues for some time now.

I agree with you and others that have said it does not affect how I use my iPhone. But………for quality control sakes….it really should not rattle at all. Just saying…….. Unless there is an app out there that uses the shake effect to use the app there is no need to shake a phone. But you can say the same thing about any product. If i shake my MBA…..i would expect it NOT to rattle.

Here's an advice: listen to your wife! Don't even read anything in this extremely stupid thread. Your phone is FINE and it's no need having it replaced 50 times.

I really hope some smart moderator will close it ASAP. Because this "debate" will be going in circles forever and with absolutely with no conclusion what so ever. And if some here think they are smart enough to design or redesign a phone like this one, please send your job application to Cupertino so they hire you and you can solve this jigsaw. Apple are sure interested to solve this, stop the production and remanufacture all of 5S because of this matter. I'm pretty sure they are.

The rattle is normal. On closer inspection:

You are so lucky .... I know myself and I'm going to buy iPhone 6 as well :D
