I don't understand: exactly WHO here has said any negativity or 'bashed' 5C? As far as I know, 5C has another design and that's why you can't hear any rattle. I tried a dozen of them in the stores here.

One kind soul...

Well maybe your the one 5s user with a kind soul...thank you. But a lot of people on Mac Rumors complain about the 5c but half of them probably haven't even touched one before. A lot of 5s owners on this website just beat the lives out of 5c owners saying that they are poor because they buy a plastic phone... I know lots who like the 5c just for its color...I could have bought a 5s but I went for the 5c.

BUT YES, that rattling is common for the 5s and it isn't really worth replacing because u will probably just get the same problem.

I have yet to experience any rattling from my 5s... The home button and power buttons both seem pretty solid with not much room to wiggle around anyway.

Yeah, the 5c doesn't rattle.

Everyone can and have right to choose what phones they want. Nothing wrong with 5C, it's a improved 5 and it looks a bit cooler than 5S if you ask me.

Personally I like both models.

I use the 5s and my son uses the 5c.

I visited the apple store near me today and found most of the buttons rattle.

Smiled and moved on with my life.

Yup, my iPhone 5s rattles a little when I shake it as well. The sound apparently comes from the sleep / wake button on the top. If I hold it down while shaking, I don't hear a thing.

If you didn't point it out, I probably would have never noticed it. :p

Has anyone tried not shaking their phone, putting a case on it, or turning vibration off if not needed? Perhaps staying away from internet forums and using your iPhone to do something creative would help.

This is very common, if not the same on all devices. They all have some give to them, some more than others. Some even have loose volume rockers.

Mine has a loose volume rocker, it bugged me at first, but I got over it once I realized I didn't have time to swap phones over and over hoping to get a "perfect" one.

I'd rather have an iPhone 5s with a rattle than a plastic phone. (yes, my 5s has a rattle) I felt the iPhone 5c and personally DIDN'T like it. I liked the iphone 5S better. A7 processing chip, A completely different M7 chip, and other minor features that convinced me it's worth the extra 200 or so. And by the way, the finger ID wasn't and isn't the reason everybody buys the 5s. I have a lifeproof case so i dont even use it. Who needs to anywho.

Got my iphone 5s and the power button is loose.

The rattling is indeed pretty intrusive if you record video.

Here's what I'm talking about.

Does anyone have a iphone 5s that doesn't rattle? Should I order a new one in a few weeks or just wait for iphone 6?

I can assure you that every iPhone 5 has this.(and since the 5S isn't that different they probably have it too)
I've gone through quite some iPhones and all of them had it. I have a lot of friends with iPhones and all rattle.
I even worked at a RMA department of a national phone store and I occasionally got an iPhone returned due to this problem. We usually have them a new phone, but it would never be fixed. They would just realize that it's no use to send it back for this problem again.

In short: I've had a lot of iPhones in my hand and I've never came across one not rattling. If someone says their phone doesn't rattle they either don't notice it or it might be to soft to hear due to an anomaly.

In fact, as far as I know almost all phones rattle. In most cases it's probably the power button which is a bit loose. I've also read somewhere that the camera lens, to work properly, has to be just a little bit loose. I'm not sure if this is true (if it is, the rattle is probably less audible than the button rattling though), but I know for sure that a lot of phones have the same kind of rattle.

So basically.. Don't worry :)

Realize it or not...the first three iPhones were plastic:)

If the bashers were android users they have nothing to say...most android phones are plastic, also the 5c is expensive compared to some android phones.

U can't even tell the difference from a7 and a6 at this point. If apple said the 5c had an a7 even though it didn't u would still believe them because their is no difference at this point in time.

Seriously, the iPhone 5S is FAST!! That A7 chip isn't for nothing!

To the Fandroid comment, +1! Motorola droid crap is all cheap and plastic not made for endurance..

I know the a7 is better than the 5c a6 but it won't be that noticeably faster for a year or two when ios8 is released.

At least the 5c plastic doesn't feel like the cheap Motorola or Samsung plastic they use. The 5c plastic feels kind like an iPhone 5 but with a thin plastic case over it because it has that aluminum frame under the plastic...

I have to admit I'm an avid Androidian. I'm also a happy owner of a 5c. I prefer the plastic and am happy with the fact that they provide beautiful colors. I like my Note III and 5c. I feel like I'm getting a great enrichment of experience. =)

I feel bad that the 5s owners are getting a rattle that obvious. Hopefully they'll fix this on next release. I also hope they'll release a 6c. Heh.
