But what's the car????

That's what I want to know :)

BTW, USUALLY the only time my classic car has a computer in it is when I have my backpack in it on the way to work.

But then there was this one time...

Early Jaguar XK8

Ive gone for the G3 Lombard as the laptop of choice

Very nice-I looked at one of those before buying the MG. It definitely was a great ride in a lot of ways.

I'm rather fond of the AJ-V8 engine in those, which is what powers my daily driver(albeit in 3.9L FoMoCo form).

My updated list:

Big closets help :p But most of them are setup throughout my house, mostly in the basement or in my room.

Yeah, the G60 overheats a lot... Someone gave it to me without a battery. Its decently specced but the lack of battery and the fact that it overheats prevents me from using it too often. I have the same issue with the HP g6 laptop. Bad battery, and over heats within 5 seconds of turning on. That laptop has since been retired from its daily family usage. And don't even get me started on the 500-c60... That is a disaster that I fully regret buying.

Another hot laptop is the Dell Latitude E6410. It has a good battery (a giant 9-cell one), but something on the laptop went faulty. I tried repasting and even going so far as replacing the whole logic board (the first lobo's RAM slots failed), but sadly it did not resolve the overheating issues. Prior to having such issues, I used it every day in school and was a really nice and durable laptop.

Fortunately, every other working computer on that list doesn't have overheating issues, or at least not any outside of normal operating temperatures *looks at AMD FX-6300*

Well, I guess I'll post my list so far, it's small, but not bad for just getting started in PPC collecting:

•PowerMac G5 Dual Processor 2.3GHz
•eMac G4 700MHz
•Power Macintosh 6100/66

On Order-

•9x PowerMac G4 AGP
•iBook G4 1.33 GHz

Wish list-

•iMac G4
•TiBook
•PowerBook Pismo
•Some Old World ROM computer with OS 9

At some point, I will hope to make a shelving unit and display all of my computers for everyone to see. I am also considering buying either a Macintosh 512ke or SE for the same price ($100) off my local craigslist.

Ahh humble beginnings... Never did end up getting those PowerMac G4 AGPs. Still don't have a Pismo and my GigaTiBook has died, but I have plenty of OWR Macs, running OS 7-9 :D. Also, I made the right decision in getting the 512ke, as I got so many goodies with it, and I wound up getting an SE recently for free anyway. Annnnnd the shelving unit has since turned into piles in my closet LOL

I see this mentions on this thread now and then, so I thought I would give out an update: while I have received a handful of machines since leaving the PPC forum/world, I ended up throwing away nearly 11 Windows PCs, taking my total down from around 90 total computers. I don't know where it currently sits, but it must be at 70 or 80-something.

I haven't gotten rid of any PPC Macs; but, either way, one or two of you have me beaten now!

That'll happen! I had a tower of towers in a closet of mine, and I did a lot of cleaning out. I tossed about 11 Windows PCs, two Xbox 360s, and various parts. Still, my own walk-in closet in my bedroom has so much stuff in it, there's only clearance for the door to swing open. I've re-arranged it many times as well, in some creative ways; however, there's just too much stuff in there for it to be usable anyway. Hoping I can transfer it somewhere, some day. It includes tons of parts and peripherals on the shelves and in a couple drawers, two big 1980s televisions, a 1995 HP printer, Apple RGB display (I think two), Beige G3 tower, two PowerMac G5s, I think one PowerMac G4, several laptops, and a few 1980s portables.

But, yeah, this happens when you collect. It's hard to know where to put things. I have computers and computer parts within two rooms of the house. I tried hard to keep things in one room only, but I couldn't do so. Not everything can be displayed, and I usually don't want the nicer machines in storage.

Definitely not more than others here, but I have:

68k:
Macintosh Classic
PowerBook 520c
PPC:
Power Macintosh 9500
iBook G3 300 Blueberry Clamshell
iBook G3 466 SE Indigo Clamshell
PowerBook G3 Wallstreet
PowerBook G3 Pismo
iBook G3 600 12"

Power Macintosh G4 450 (AGP)
iMac G4 800 17"
PowerBook G4 1.0 Ti
PowerBook G4 1.5 12"
Power Macintosh G4 1.42 DP (MDD)
Power Macintosh G5 2.5 Quad

Intel:
Xserve 3.0 2006
MacBook Pro 2.6 2008 15"
iMac 3.06 early 2009 24"

MacBook 2.13 mid 2009
MacBook Air 2.13 2009
Xserve 3.33 2009
MacBook Pro 2.66 2010 13"
iMac 2.93 2010 27"
Mac Mini 2.66 2010
Mac Mini 2.7 2011
Mac Pro 2.4 2012

I'm not sure if it counts as they aren't Mac, but I also have a PS3, an Xbox360, and a Wii which are all PPC.

I guess that's 11 total PPC Macs, and 24 total Macs.

I noticed there were more color options when Apple was making PPC Macs. Aside from the newest Intels, they've only been white, black, or silver.

[edit] now I finally also have a Mac Pro.

I have a Late 2005 Power Mac G5 DC 2Ghz, with 4GB RAM, and 2 1TB 7200 HDD's, also including a GeForce 6600.

And yes, this is my main computer used for all tasks. Works beautifully.

Hoping to sometime get a 2005 15" 1.66 Ghz PowerBook G4, or perhaps a 12". Not sure.

I also have a Mid-2012 13" MacBook Pro with stock configuration.

(Ugh, this thread is already making me feel self absorbed.)

Seeing some of the (very) long lists in the thread, I'm both slightly envious and slightly terrified ;) Mine's quite small, four PPCs in working condition, three more of which I have at least the logic board; also two 68k Macs:

Working PPCs:
  • Power Mac G4 Digital Audio, 466 MHz (in Quicksilver case, w/ ex. Sonnet 1.6 GHz CPU upgrade)
  • iMac G3, 350 MHz (some video issues; analog board?)
  • Power Macintosh 4400/200
  • PowerBook 3400c/200
Broken PPCs:
  • Power Mac G4 Gigabit Ethernet (missing parts)
  • Power Mac G4 Quicksilver (missing parts, maybe broken)
  • Macintosh Performa 5200/75 (logic board and drives only; was my first PPC Mac, chassis basically tore itself apart over the years)
68k:
  • Macintosh IIci (bad PSU)
  • PowerBook Duo 230

I’ve been collecting older macs for some years now. I had an old unused room in my previous home that I was filling up, but since we moved they’re no longer on display. I have 22 PPC Macs. Some are visible in the picture, though my collection has grown considerably since those times. By now the different iBooks and all PowerBook G4’s have been added, three colours of iMac G3, the eMac, iMac G5, Mac Mini, Xserve G5,.... I sort of like how I’ve gotten hold of original flyers of the machines to accompany them. When (or if) I have my collection on display in my new house I’ll try to take some better pictures.

Any other collectors here from (around) Belgium?
