Yes I have a job - I'm a doctor!

But I myself had a "doctors appointment" last Friday. And by doctors appointment I mean an appointment with an Apple Genius who sold me a 64GB White AT&T iPad 2 (lol).

Nah.. we don't have jobs, but we can buy 499 dollars ipad or higher.

Does that make your happy now?

I stood in line because we had a tsunami the night before the launch, so I was given the launch day off. Since I was unaffected, I decided to spend it waiting for an iPad and catching up on some books.

I didn't stand in line as I hate lines, but I have a pretty flexible schedule despite working a lot of hours.

I'm a college professor so I stay busy, but outside of teaching two classes a week and having meetings, I can do my work whenever I want (late night, weekends etc.).

I ordered online, but would have preferred to stand in line had I known the shipping wait would be up to 2 weeks despite ordering at 4am ET!

And I'm on-call, so I happened to have been called in that day. Otherwise, I would have had the time.

Yes I work.

How could anyone interested in Apple not have a job. Not necessarily the least expensive stuff out there.

How did I get to wait in line Friday for my iPad 2? Took a paid vacation day.

We have to feed our Apple addiction somehow. I work for my university. Great pay, super flexible and they understand that your degree comes first. Any freshmen I strongly advise getting a job with your university, so much better than private companies.

It's easier than you might think. I'm a law student home on spring break, but even when I'm attorney, it won't be hard. Read over documents in line on my iPad or comp. I'm sure many many other professions are similar. The workplace has gone a lot more mobile.

Sure, secret shopper. I get paid to stand in lines while you work your regular job. Only requirement is that I remain incognito....dang!

Love it!

I love how everyone here is just answering the question....."derp de derp yeah I have a job" I think the original poster meant it a little facetiously as in Apple picked a crummy time for typical working people to pick up an iPad.

Instead of a reserve system like they did in the past. They royally screwed a lot of people plain and simple.

Im going to wait until I can just walk in and purchase one without having to stand in a line and that will be abou the time the iPad 3 comes out

I am salaried, I can leave early or come in late at times, makes up for long days and working weekends. I ended up buying two through Enterprise sales was able to get order placed on 9th, through my company, I am hoping it will show in in a week or so.

That is true until you graduate :) I worked at my university for 3 years, was offered a job afterwards doing something similar to jobs out in 'the real world' but at $20k less per year than private companies.

I fail to see how they screwed anyone. People had a choice, either order online or try to get one in the store. Since I had the afternoon off, I took my chances at the store. If that hadn't worked, I would've just ordered online.

I program for living but what's important is what's important. I have my priority straight. :D

I schedule my time around when apple release their stuff.. so no problem.. no more xmas... I celebrate my own xmas when apple release their stuff.. :apple:
