Does Apple Reserve = Guaranteed?

Pretty sure it says that because you can no longer make a reservation.
In other words, "first come, first served" refers to "un-reserved" iPhones available on the 24th.
I'm sure we'll be seeing A LOT of this on the 24th. I reserved an iPhone also but wasn't confident I would have one waiting for me after work on the 24th. So I went to an AT&T store and pre-ordered and went back online and canceled my reservation.
If you think yesterday was frustrating, I can't imagine all the people who reserved and have to show up at an apple store next week will feel.

I called and spoke with the apple store manager near me. She explained everything.. I will have my iphone on the 24th. My reservation is confirmed.

After failing to get through the process several times yesterday, I was able to reserve a phone for pickup at my local store last night. I took a screenshot of it and so it appeared to me that all was good. However, I never got a confirmation email. So I called my Apple store just now and they have no record of my reservation and basically told me I'm just SOL. Unless of course I want to stand in line and take my chances. Uh no thank you. That's why I reserved online.

People could do what they want. I passed along the info from the store manager at my local Apple store and you could either use the info or not. I was simply trying to help the other people here but for those of you that want to ignore it and just try showing up late on the 24th, good luck.
I'm just not going to worry about it. I have my reservation email and I'll be getting in the reservation line the morning of the 24th. Odds are, I'll be walking out of the store with an iPhone 4.
Those of you who got a confirmation email then called and found out you were cancelled, did you check the apple store app, assuming you have an iPhone currently? I am still shown as registered on there, just wondering if this also means nothing...

I chatted with an Apple representative online yesterday morning, and she said they will definitely hold reservations until close of business next Thursday. I won't be able to make it over until after work anyway.

I don't know where you can check online, but download their new Apple Store App in the App Store. It's free and syncs with your Apple ID account. You can see your reservation there. I could not find the same information anywhere online.
People, if you received an email, you're phone will be there waiting for you.
If Apple.com doesn't show your reservation right now, I wouldn't sweat it until at least a couple days before launch day. It's going to take a while for it to catch up to yesterday's craziness.

I pre-ordered through Apple Store, just checked the App and it says I have a reservation and that it will be available until the end of the day on launch day.

You have to select the store at which you made your reservation, then follow the steps to sign in and check your current reservations.
But again, I wouldn't freak out if you received the email confirmation yet it doesn't show on the site. Hell, I wouldn't even trust the store employee that tells you it's cancelled. Their entire system is still playing catch up.
