Ok, let us so called fanboys make this easy for you:

Please don't buy it.

Thank you and goodnight.

Edit: 10 pages! lol

Wait, I cannot hear you, you breaking up. What did you say? [Static]. Come again, please. [Crackling noises and more static]. Still cannot hear you, sorry. Check if the bumper is attached properly, and please for the love of Apple make sure that you are holding the phone as your master, I mean, Steve Jobs, told you to hold the phone. Cannot disobey your master's orders, you know. By the way, is your bumper pink by any chance? Now, Burgundyburpz, do you have that 9/10 review of how great the reception is on the new iPhone? I bet you do. Do not forget to post it, if you do, Stevie will make an even thinner iPod Touch for you. :D Night, night.

Best post in this thread yet!:D

On another note; I like to think that opinions are like *******s in that everyone has one! LOL

Is it me or are diehard Apple Sheeple an idiotic bunch who just repeat the same old crap that Fuhrer Jobs says all the time! "Oh please Fuhrer Jobs, take all my money so I can have your new iPod Touch!", "I want to have your babies!", "I'll give you any body parts you want, even my eternal soul as long as I can be in your mere presence for a brief moment!"

I swear that people like that are really, really sad idiots! For feck's sake, it's only a bloody PMP (and a piss-poor one at that for the most part with the exception of the Apps side of things!)

At the end of the day, let's just agree to disagree instead of letting this thread continue for anything up to 100+ pages or more just because some idiotic trollish Sheeple (in particular the ones mentioned in bold) feel the need to spend their time trying to prove they're right and yustas is wrong and yet they're failing in such an epic manner, it's laughable!

(BTW, if anyone dares attack me verbally because *SHOCK HORROR* I have an opinion, be warned, I can bite back... And then some! :D)

Welcome to the MR forums. I see you have a join date of this month...Hmmm...Wait, seriously? You joined up a Mac forum board for this? To attack people who are on Apple forum?

The funny thing is you attack me and call me a "petulant little brat" for not naming reasons. Quite the contrary, if you look past a couple of pages, I've given my reasons and have countered Mr. Yustev for his, which I absolutely think are completely reasonable and have merit.

And that reason is, that I still and truly think that what you pay for more, you get more, which is what you get with the iPod for $379 less than the iPhone. Both of you, instead of trying to grasp simple and fundamental concepts of business and capitalism, continue headstrong to attack people who buy these devices as nothing more than Apple zealots who follow a figure akin to that of Hitler, according to your post. Extreme if you ask me, but what the heck, welcome to the forums once again.

If you can't seem to comprehend that Apple is a company who wishes to sell products and make money then you'll forever condemn every person who decides to purchase an iPod Touch, which let me remind you, is a vast majority, and you, a tiny minority. That also doesn't mean that Apple should not be allowed to set their own prices for a tiered lineup, which ANY company in this country, or any free capitalistic nation can do, lest I remind you. The successes and failures of a company ultimately lies in your wallets, not your loud mouth.

I explained this rationale in a post long ago. Even to the very end, when obviously no agreement could be reached, I told Mr. Yustas to do the only thing he can do with such a one-sided mind, and thats to not purchase the device. I still don't see the need for him or you to go on an Apple board that will probably be 99% against you anyway and to try and convince the masses why they shouldn't purchase this device. What really are your goals in doing so?

And yet, instead of pointing me out on my points, you come on here and immediately call me and others a bunch of brats. Again, welcome to the Macrumors forums ;)

I didn't join up to be a troll, I joined up just in case I ever needed any advice or help with my future iPod/iPad purchases (which I won't be buying at full price in any case)

I had every right to call you and others a bunch of petulant brats, because that's the way you were acting towards yustas from what I could see.

And to paraphrase a line from a song by Justin Timberlake: "Cry me a Frakkin' river!" if I've hurt your oh-so-sensitive feelings in any way! (For those who are sarcastically-challenged, that's sarcasm in case anyone is wondering)

I don't think it's extreme calling Steve Jobs a Fuhrer, because that's what he is: a horrible, petulant little man who thinks that he's better than everyone else and who thinks he can treat people like ****, even his only family members; especially his older daughter who he denied was even his until a DNA test proved otherwise! I mean, what kind of man does that sort of thing, deny his own daughter? Oh I know, a man who's an absolute control freak like Mr Jobs is!

Mr Jobs may be a good businessman, but as a supposed Buddhist, philanthropist and human being, he fails on a epic scale!

BTW, I read EVERY post in this thread (all 10+ pages of it) and from what I could see, the majority of the pages were full of people insulting yustas just because he was stating the obvious: That the new iPod Touch wasn't worth the money unlike the previous releases; in particular the 3rd Gen version.

At the end of the day, a lot of Apple customers are going to say "enough is enough! Give us a iPod Touch product that is truly value for money or we'll buy a product from one of your rivals instead!"

Also, I do know a lot about business and capitalism and how the both of them work as I did business studies at school, had ran a little business on eBay a while back and after doing my Foundation Degree in Computing this year at University, I'm going to be doing a regular degree in eBusiness next year.

In any case, as I said in a previous post, everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if some of them come across as being a douchebag when expressing said opinion!

And yet, you call me a brat once more and fail again to rebuttal my post.

Here's a clue, instead of calling people names, use that energy to counter with some argument and rationale at least.

Frankly speaking, the iPod is the least important product line for Apple. It is a saturated, mature market in which they are the dominant player. As a result, they don't care that much about it, and it gets the least amount of love from Apple. The touch still generally gets a good upgrade from the previous generation, but you just can't be comparing it to the iPhone.

The iPhone is arguably the most important product for Apple. It is in a rapidly growing, ultra-competitive smartphone market with no one particular dominant player. As a result Apple is forced to innovate and put everything possible into the iPhone. Android is hot on Apple's heels, and Apple can't afford to be complacent with the iPhone.

As far as priorities for Apple, it pretty much goes iPhone > Mac > iPad >> iPod. iPad might even be ahead of Mac at this point.

Perhaps there are a bunch of iPod lovers here who feel like jilted lovers. Sorry, but Apple has moved on. You're only going to get a modest amount of attention (upgrades). Realistically, what we got this year compared to last year is actually a pretty good upgrade.

What does his family life have anything to do with the new iPod Touch.

They say that you can tell what a person is really like from the way they treat their family differently; because after all, as the old saying goes: "You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family!"

And seeing as he denied that Lisa Brennan-Jobs was his own daughter for many years until he was forced to admit that she was indeed his own daughter, and that his excuse that he was "sterile" was a load of BS (If he was supposedly sterile, how come he's since had two other children with his current partner?), it goes to show that with Fuhrer Jobs, it's "I don't give a *bleep* about you because I'm richer and smarter than you!"

Look at Bill Gates, he may have his faults, but at least he's doing something to make the world a better place... What is Fuhrer Jobs doing to make the world a better place?

They say the best monument a person can leave behind after they die are deeds rather than words, and in Steve Jobs' case, I've a feeling more people are going to remember him for the way he acted towards people; especially his customers rather than his achievements.

the new iPod Touch wasn't worth the money unlike the previous releases; in particular the 3rd Gen version.

What?

The new iPod touch's 8gb model may have risen in price by $30 compared to the 3rd gen (don't forget the 1st gen 8gb was $299, the same as the current 32gb), but the 32gb and 64gb models are the same price as the 3rd gen, and they all have the Retina Display (not as good as the iPhone's, but better than the third gens display) TWO cameras, an A4, and more battery life. AND YOU DON'T THINK THEY'RE WORTH THE MONEY?!?!?!?!?!?

I guess the real problem is that GekiRed based his argument on a Wikepedia listing. I could edit Wikepedia right now to read Steve Jobs is a terrorist, and GekiRed would believe it and start using that in arguments.

So you're basically saying that it's OK for a parent to deny that they're the mother or father of a child or children for selfish, amoral reasons?

And I always wonder why humanity has SO gone downhill over the years... *shakes head*

As for Wikipedia, I take a lot of what it has to say with a grain of salt, especially seeing as in the UK, a lot of members of the Conservative Party (the UK equivalent of the Republicans but way worse!) have been editing certain entries related to them over the years. In any case, I still don't like Steve Jobs as a person... I have a grudging respect for him as a inventor, but as a human being, I don't have respect for him because of his arrogance towards others because after all, there's a clear difference between pride and arrogance.

With pride, at least you know you're good at what you do but you don't need to brag about it to others, whereas with arrogance, you feel the need to not only brag about it, but also make others look bad by putting them down.

As I said before, everybody has an opinion, but it doesn't give some people the right to act like a douchebag by trying to force their views onto others.

Of course I am not saying that is OK. I just think that Wikepedia is not the greatest source in the world for information. Also, I think it has no relevance to this thread. I understand that you don't like him as a person, and that is your right, but why should that affect whether the 4th generation of the ipod touch is a worthy follow up to the last incarnation. Either way, I didn't mean to attack you personally so I'm sorry.

Thank you for the apology.:)

The reason why I'm coming across as being frustrated is that there seem to be quite a few people in this thread as well as in various other threads who seem to be more willing to be verbal in their attacks on Thread OP's rather than explain clearly why they disagree with said OP's opinion. It's as if they have a Red Mist (and I don't mean the Supervillain from Kick-Ass! LOL) clouding their minds and causing them to lose all rational thought.

As I said, I don't like Steve Jobs as a person, but at the same time, I was expecting a bit more from the new iPod Touch; especially where storage space and enclosure is concerned... I can understand the situation with the lack of storage increase in the top-of-the-range version, but when you're paying $399 for the 64GB version or £329 in the UK and you get nothing more than a processor upgrade and a slightly better screen as well as a gyroscope, you can understand why a lot of people are venting their frustration at Apple and Steve Jobs in particular.

Look at it this way, if Apple decide to give the iPod Touch next year another incremental upgrade (in other words, nothing more but a better camera and better enclosure), I can guarantee you that a lot of people will keep this year's version and wait till 2012 to buy a new one! (That is, if the world hasn't been destroyed by then! LOL)

I agree that it seems like all these threads end up just slamming the OP. It kinda makes you not want to start any threads around here, because no matter the validity, you will be trashed. The thing is I agree with you, I was hoping for more of an upgrade too. I think a 128GB Ipod Touch would have made a huge difference. I know the costs for flash memory are high, but for a 64GB model to cost more than a PS3 or XBOX360 is kinda ridiculous.

I definitely agree with you there about the situation with the flash memory!

I mean, who cares about whether the new iPod Touch has a camera or not (even if it is crappy as hell), I know I don't care about the camera and all the minor improvements (with the exception of the processor), it still would have been nice to have had a iPod Touch that's worth the money instead of one that comes in a enclosure that's thinner than ever before.

I confess that when I do buy one (which is when they go down to a reasonable price on Amazon), I'm going to be really scared that I'm going to lose it because it's so thin.

You're right about the price for a 64GB iPod Touch being more expensive than a PS3 or XBox360! I mean, I could buy a 2nd Hand PS3 and a few cheap games including MGS4 and Star Ocean 4 Special Edition for the same price of a 64GB iPod Touch brand new.

I confess I've been tempted to buy a cheap 3rd Gen one, especially pre-owned, but at the same time, I'm worried that Apple won't do decent iOS upgrades for it after iOS 4.2 comes out in November.

Now it's bumper stickers...

yuuuuuuuuuustaaaaaas... Bridge? The bridge you were offering? I meet the customer profile; let's deal...

Still interested... C'mon, you may not like his product but at least Jobs has put it out there! His product is on the shelf. You offered up a bridge. Now deal with me. What bridge?

Well, when you title a thread "Does Apple Think People Are Dumb?" and then start a diatribe on how it sucks that Apple chose to put a 0.7 Mp back camera to keep the Touch thin, on a forum dedicated to Mac/Apple users, you get slammed and that's fortunate.
This is actually inferring that whoever purchases the new iPod Touch is "dumb". Hell, I'm gonna buy one and I don't consider myself to have intellectual deficiencies, lol. 3 years ago I purchased a Touch at the same price and it didn't have any camera/FaceTime nor multitasking. Now that I've unfortunately broken the glass of that old one, I'm happily going to spend the $$$ to replace it because I know it's a great device.

I don't want to slam the OP but for the sake of sanity of this place, he should be banned. I don't know what the mods see when someone started a thread by distorted a 9/10 review of a product and name calling everyone (who supposed to buy said product) dumb. This is trollish in the highest order.

As for GekiRed, he has nothing worthy of a reply.

(Nonsensical blatherings and bizarre fascination with Steve Jobs deleted)

RAWR! New troll relief squad? That's nice dear.

I could also buy 700 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese for $400. What bearing either comparison has on a Touch, I have no idea.

^ This.

Win. Everything else is just silly bickering.

I've never owned a touch before, nor do I have an iPhone, so to me, comparisons are pointless and irrelevant. I don't care what other devices do or don't have. This latest gen of the iPod Touch has what I was looking for - Wifi, music, video, camera. And the price is right. I don't care what other 'features' it could have had but doesn't. I'm buying it.

FYI, I don't have a PS3 or XBox360 but I do have a couple of very nice PSP-1000'S that I like to carry in both my pockets at all times and use whenever I want as well as a really nice DS Lite, if that's what you mean?[/sarcasm]

matrix07; I don't think I've seen anything of yours that's worth replying to either!:D

burgundyyears; I may bite, but at least I don't sparkle unlike the vampires in a certain series of books by a certain Mormon author who shall remain nameless!:D

In any case, here's a hypothetical question for all the Apple Sheeple out there who would blindly follow Fuhrer Jobs through Hades and High Water: If Fuhrer Jobs told you to sacrifice your first-born or drink poison so that your family could have a lifetime supply of Apple products, would you do it?

Don't answer all at once now...

(And before anyone asks, I'm just mocking the Sheeple out there who think that Steve Jobs is right in what he says all the time and that anbody who disagrees with him is a unbeliever! Well, I guess I'm an unbeliever and proud of it! Hey, that would make a nice T-Shirt for sale on CafePress! "Proud to be a member of the Church of the Anti-Jobs!")

I was one of the people unhappy about the camera in the latest iPod. I used to say "I'd be willing to buy an iPhone without the service contract, just to get all the other features".

It turns out that it is possible to buy an iPhone in the USA without a service contract. I only learned this from reading the macrumors forums.

http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/971037
"Purchasing an iPhone 4 unsubsidized results in the following prices: 16GB for $599, 32GB for $699"

Of course, I found this out right after I ordered my iPod touch.

Now that I see the price difference, I don't know if I would be willing to buy an iPhone without the service contract.

So, to people like the OP who really want the better camera, and don't care how thick the device is, I will say: you can get that if you want.

To people who say "I want a device with exactly these features", then you're out of luck. I don't foresee Apple coming out with 20 different variations of hand-held devices, making a complete spectrum of hardware options between iPod Touch and iPhone. You can complain that Apple doesn't make the exact device you want, but if you want a hand-held iOS device with a nice camera, you can get one: iPhone without service contract.
