No. These things are already amazing light.

I carried my ipad 1 around for 2 years, an I never cried about the weight..and I really can't notice the difference in weight between the two. Its minute (mynoot :)) . People are really nitpicking if they think these ipads are heavy.

In simple terms.

1 to 3 a very good upgrade for everyone.

2 to 3 not so good for some people like myself for example. The sacrifices do not outweigh the modest improvements that I can see when I directly compare the new one with my ipad 2. If think it's called Buyers Remorse!

I do notice the difference but not a big deal. What I like about the new iPad is It's back shape. To me it feels better in the hand than the previous models.

It really brings it home to me what a brilliant piece of kit the ipad 2 is. A superb mix of features without the sacrifices they have made for the new one.

I was going to sell mine once I got the new one but now I am not so sure.

I noticed, but it's not like I was going to want to sacrifice battery life to make it as thin or thinner than the iPad 2. What could we do?

I know it's LIGHTER than my iPad 1 but I don't really notice the difference. My wife has an iPad 2 and when you put them side to side you can BARELY notice the depth difference. As for weight, she didn't think the new iPad felt any heavier than hers. I guess each person is different.

I will be going from original iPad to new iPad, I think the weight will be a pleasant difference :D

Coming from iPad 1 this thing feels light to me. I have held the iPad 2 in a store and I could see how this would feel heavier. Your muscle memory will eventually adapt.

It definitely feels heavier. I bought a floor stand for this very reason. When Im out I use it most on tables, but at home it's mostly in hand. This things wears on my wrists fast. Although I was without it for a week after I sold my iPad 2 and waited for the 3 to arrive so maybe it's the same and I'm our of practice.

I have solution of sorts.

I will return the new 32gb with 4G this afternoon and swap for a 16gb Wi-Fi only and keep the old ipad 2.

I save £180 and still have a new toy to play with. A stupid idea really but....

I definitely feel the difference to my ipad 2, but I can live with it. When I think about it, I jist look at the display and I forget everything :)
Seriously though, Apple should try in the future to make the next iPad lighter. This is my only real complain. Apart from that this is almost perfect!

I consider all versions of the iPad to be too heavy and too thick. I would prefer the option to have a smaller battery and lighter unit.

Heck no

The weight difference is not noticible to the point of being annoying. I held the 2 and 3 at same time and the difference is not detectable. I know the 3 is slightly heavier but if u say it bothers u, it's all in ur head.
