since you yourself said it would take you a few hours (few means like in the range of 5 or 6 maybe) I guess you are contradicting yourself, again, not surprised.
and so it continues ...
Yes but I have a life and other priorities... Tho I will try to release it as fast as possible... look iOS 26 is not even release too... what if I make the app iOS 26+?

So here we are after the release of 4 new iPhones, actually the iPhone 17 (base) is better than expected and I think it’s the best iPhone to buy now !!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the other iPhones like the Air which is more expensive and lose in the camera and battery, the only wins are 0.2 inch bigger display, light phone and more powerful with a19 pro and 12gb of ram… This is the first air, I think that it’s going to be a great phone in the future but now it isn’t… Wait iPhone air 2 if you want air or get the 17 base which is very good!

For the 17 Pro and 17 pro max, those are way more expensive than the 17 base and the only important changes are a zoom camera, other cam exclusive things and better performances… I use the iPhone 14 Pro with A16 and it’s perfectly fine, the A19 is way better and I think that it’s not worth to pay more for the performances since almost everyone will be ok with the A19 on the iPhone 17 and if you want a good zoom, please get a real camera… the zoom will be way better…

Before the event I said that the 16 pro would be better than the 17 but we got many surprises yesterday so yeah get the 17 base if you want but that’s it no other iPhone unless a very specific reason.
Well this swayed me, I’m switching to a Pixel. Thank you for keeping me from making a huge mistake with these pesky new iPhones!

You are the reason why YouTube channels like Max Tech can make a fortune.

"Why Apple going to change the world AGAIN" -> "Apple messed up, iPhone RUINED" -> "iPhone 17 hands on, 10 reasons why you SHOULD upgrade this year" -> "iPhone 17 one week review, why EVERYONE was wrong" -> "iPhone 17 two week review, 10 reasons why should should AVOID this year and wait for iPhone 18" -> "iPhone 17 one month review, Apple is back, Android is DONE" -> "iPhone 17 two month review, why I was WRONG" -> "iPhone 17 half year review (long term), LIFETIME Android user first time try iPhone and blows my mind."

If you check his posting history, he isn't merely sharing his opinion. When other members reply to his posts with valid retorts, he argues his position regardless.

I stand by what I said. He has no business telling people not to buy something.
He's free to give his opinion and say what he wants. He feels strongly about it, that's all. You can just ignore it.

Dude, you seriously have to get a Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 or 7. I'm telling you, it's a game-changer. The whole thing where you open and close it? It's been a while, and it still feels super cool. It's like having a phone and a mini-tablet all in one. So good for getting work done, but also just for watching videos or whatever.
I'm never going back to a normal 'slab' phone, not even the cool Samsung ones. I've totally stopped paying attention to new Apple releases, too. The only thing I'm even remotely interested in is if they ever make a Fold, just to see if they can finally compete with Samsung.
Honestly, I feel like foldables are probably terrible for companies' profits. Think about it—I used to buy a phone and a tablet separately. Now I just buy one device. I'm saving money, but they're losing out on a whole second sale from me. It's a win-win for us, though!

I told Gemini to write for me, opinion is mine 😁

If the argument is that people who feel strongly about something are free to say it, why can't people who strongly disagree with the way an opinion is presented also be free to say it? If OP should be free to tell us what not to do (buy a particular phone) then why aren't we free to tell them what not to do (present their opinion in the form of a command).

Oh Dang Darn it, should have told me earlier:

I don’t think it’s a trade, I think it is a clear upgrade compared to what I have. And with what phones cost it really doesn’t matter if I upgrade every year or every third, so any improvement makes it worth it.
I think your math is wrong regarding upgrade costs

I'm one of the people who got disappointed but will have to upgrade anyway because I'm on a dying iPhone 12.

So I've got three options:
1. the pro which is as bulky as ever
2. the air which is thin but with ****** camera, and i bet it's gonna get hot super quick if you decide to play mobile games and whatnot
3. or the base model which looks exactly the same as my iPhone 12 from 5 years ago 😂😭

Ok. I’m gonna take your advice and not upgrade to the latest iPhone, which has some features I would like to have for $100.

You’re applying your own needs to everyone else’s, which makes your take shallow. The iPhone 17 base is a solid phone, but dismissing the Pro and Pro Max as “not worth it” ignores why they exist—people want ProMotion displays, titanium build, bigger batteries, advanced cameras with ProRAW/ProRes, and the headroom of the A19 Pro chip. Telling creators to “just buy a real camera” completely misses the point: they want professional-grade tools in their pocket. The 17 base is great value, but acting like the Pro models have no purpose is delusional.

I plan to get the 17 Pro Max. (I had a 12PM and now a 15PM).
I want a bigger screen. I'd probably be in the market for a 7.5 or 8 inch screen if they made one.
I play AAA mobile games a lot. I want the better GPU, and the vapor cooling, and better battery life.
I want the better camera setup.
I want faster charging.

I'll also be getting a carrier deal where the Pro Max will only cost me $100 (I think). I do agree that they have really narrowed the gap between the regular model and the pro models. The regular 17 is an outstanding device for the price.

You have no business telling the forum not to buy the phone.
I was just about to say the very same thing. I am surprised MR didn't delete this post. Though, I won't be purchasincing an iPhone 17 since I already have an iPhone 16. (Buying a phone just to have it for one year is a waste of money. Unless you have a plan that permits a free upgrade year after year, but who's to say if someone who is related to or a friend of theirs don't already say something to them.)

I only upgrade if two things happen. 1. The iPhone I have becomes outdated. 2. If I can hang on to my iPhone until it becomes unsupported. I actually held on to my 12 mini until the pre-release of the 16 even though it had problems in the last few months before the release of the iPhone 16.
