Battery percentage is moving at the moment 🙏 not keen on restarting my device lol, some people are reporting that they still have the issue on 15.0.1 😔
I updated to 15.0.1, and thought I had the issue after my phone (13 Pro) rebooted. It was stuck on 81% and not moving. I put it on the charger and charged it up to 100%, then have used it for a few hours since. It didn't seem like it was moving, but it actually was - just takes time because the battery life is so good. 3h29m of 'Screen On' time, and battery is now showing 88%.

3h29m for 12% doesn’t sound right, as long as it’s moving, that’s the main thing. 😂

Of course Tim cook reads macrumours, what kind of a CEO would he be if he didnt see whats going on in the biggest and most popular Apple based discussion forum on the internet?
He gets up at 3AM catching up all the news in MacRumors. Someone needs to send him an email and confirm it.

I'm on wi-fi and was mostly just scrolling around in Apple News with the screen in dark mode, nothing too taxing on the battery. Just wanted to keep the screen active and see if the battery % was moving at all.

That explains it, dark mode makes a big difference.

Me and @Boardiesboi had the same issue, restarted our devices, then battery percentage became stuck, wouldn’t go down, only way to get it to show correctly, was by restarting the phone every time, only restoring the device fixed the issue. 🤦‍♂️

DON’T!!!!!! restart your phone.
Thanks for the tip.

So Apple support on Twitter wasn’t too much help, not sure if they fully grasped the issue. They asked for a screenshot of battery health that obviously shows 100% it’s a new phone after all.
Might have to visit an Apple store instead and show it to them.

Thanks for the screen shot! The battery indicator may show slightly less than a full charge even though you've charged it fully. As well, the battery indicator may display a different charged percentage after enabling or disabling Low Power Mode or after a restart.
This could be classified as normal.

You must of got someone still using their training wheels or reading off a script lol. 🤦‍♂️ Need to call apple directly and speak with the senior heavies upstairs.

I’m experiencing this problem… probably the only one in my country lol! Doing a restore doesn’t work. On iOS 15, battery percentage was normal. Since updating to 15.0.1 this morning, the battery percentage is struck now! Only a restart will show the real percentage and remain struck until the next reboot/restart. Contacted Apple Support and they claimed I was the only one who contacted them about this problem.

Did you show them this thread? Still can’t believe no tech sites have written a article about this. 🤦‍♂️

I mentioned that members in Macrumors forum are experiencing this issue too, then the support guy said they have minimal information about that. Didn’t paste a link to this thread. Will be calling them up on Monday as they said the senior technician only work via phone calls. This must be the first time I’m not looking forward to “lengthy” unlimited battery percentage!!

Always call them, make sure you speak with a senior technician, training wheels always read off a script.

I’ll be calling them as well on Monday.

I updated to 15.0.1 and rebooted my phone in the week too, both times nothing has got stuck. Battery percentage is showing just fine. Most odd.

Do you charge your battery to full every time? I don’t. I only charge till 80% or so.

Yesterday I only charged it to 78% when it was rebooted by 15.0.1 because I always update with power lead plugged in, so it wasn't at 100% I have to say the charging to 80% doesn't harm the battery that much, my old iPhone 12 Pro after almost a year was at 100% capacity still and I charged it at about 43% to 100% normally. Im sure though it works for some, we all have ways we like doing things.
