i'd love to try this, but whenever I open firefox(2 or 3 beta) it hogs tons of CPU and memory, and in activity monitor it is listed as using powerPC (im on a macbook pro). On my imac firefox opens no problem, using Intel in activity monitor. what to do? I love firefox and keep hearing it is faster, safer than safari but never see those results in the real world.

I am using FF3 and IETab is working fine for me.. check to make sure there is not an update for it, as there was when I upgraded today

Thanks. It didn't work for me when I tried during the initial FF3 installation, but it works now.

faster is not that obvious since on today's computer its really hard to observe clear difference in speed. bu Safer is quite obvious.

If you MBP wrongly open firefox in Rosetta mode (PPC), you should right click the firefox.app and choose "get info", make sure uncheck that "run in rossetta mode"

Firefox stores my passwords in plain text. I can easily view them by clicking "Show Passwords." I heard a rumor a long while back saying FF3 will support Keychain. Did this not happen? Are there any alternatives?

no, you can check them doesnt mean its store locally in plain text, you can try to open the signon* file in your profile and see if you can read them.

Keychain support is being worked on, firefox need to preserve the functionality of original password manager, so it takes more efforts than the implementation in safari or camino.

Like my new firefox...

Does anyone know how to prevent the scroll from accelerating though? It's quite annoying.

Have a look at 1Password. I use it to secure all my passwords and sync them between my Macs. 1Password is also cross browser which is nice.

How do I know if I have the final and not the last RC?

I still see the 2.0 download. I got the last RC at about 1pm Eastern.

Well, I'm currently using FX3 and am really liking it. I used FX while I was a lowly Windoze user, and have since used Camino as a Mac user. I'm trying FX3 as a Mac user now, and think I may start using it as my default.

In any case, I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not there are any new themes for FX3? I liked being able to change the look of the browser.

I'm trying to get to Mozilla's addon page but I keep getting a connection timeout message. This can't be the case because my connection is fine...

Anyways, I'm guessing it might be that there are to many people trying to access the page at the same time.

There are quite a lot themes compatible with firefox 3, I tried several of them.

My guess is Mozilla pulled most of the other part of their server and focused on the download right now.

Dont worry, you should be able to try AMO very soon

Alright, thanks for that.

That was my thinking. They're trying to get so many downloads, their normal distribution of bandwidth and such just won't cut it.

I really hope they're able to break the 5 million barrier.
