Because they are nice and sometimes they do that. Nobody is expecting anything, but it happens.

I agree Apple is usually very accommodating.

With the massive profits they make on these phones, they can easily give some away.

Lol it was an accident not on purpose to the guy wanting the co-worker to pay more then replacement cost.


Ive had my iPhone 4S replaced at the apple store for $199 (Out of Warranty Service) that covers everything as long as the phone is not in multiple pieces.

I don't see how this would be different for the iPhone5.

BTW my 4S was nearly cracked in half when I took it in. (It slid into the groove of the armrest in my car I pulled the armrest up = destroyed phone.)
