Good morning. My order still says 8/20 this morning (7:58am New York time) so I'm going to keep hoping that I'll finally get my email today.

(9800xt, BT, Airport card, no modem, ordered 6/10)

Iirc they do deliver on saturday but not for the shipping method apple uses

Using TNT UK in the past, I've found that if the item has been out for delivery and couldn't be delivered, TNT will generally be OK to deliver on a Saturday.
If it hasn't been out for delivery yet and you just call and ask them to delay it to Saturday, they're not always quite so keen to do it.

Generally, I've had good experiences with TNT. I called to rearrange delivery one Thursday morning to my office address and it arrived early the same afternoon.

Hopefully it's a shipping notice, and no delay mail

Just got off the phone to Apples reseller contact line (I shouldnt ring it technically since I am an end user, not a reseller, but wtf!)
I got an earful about not being allowed to contact them or get any info direct, and they referred me back to my reseller in London, but what she did say is that no resellers in the UK are having any shipping at the moment - so looks like we are in fo an even longer wait - no answers, no dates, no info.

If I at least had some bloody idea of how long it would take to get one, I could at least dewcide whether to cancel and reorder through the Apple store OR, given how much cheaper the Macs are in the sates, I'd even consider flying out there and picking one up in a store and bringing it back - probably wouldn't cost me any more anyway..

This is sooooo bloody frustrating - I need the machine now, people in the UK are getting them around me, and yet I am out on a limb with no bloody comeback whatsoever.

..the worst of it is, when I spoke to a guy on the same number last week - despite not being able to give me any solid info, he did say that my machine (and the order with several others via the same merchant) were in production and would most likely ship within the week - taking us to today - so why the f*ck is there no info now??

Still waiting...........

I received my 'order shipped' email yesterday. The TNT website told me that my Mac was sitting at the Edinburgh TNT Depot. I called their customer service people around 11am and the said that i could collect it in person. The guy at the depot told me that my mac has not been picked up from Apple yet!!!!!!!

I call customer service again to explain

Called back by them an hour later to say that the Mac IS still in Cork but i will receive it on Monday.

Not amused.......but another day or 2 can't hurt me!

That pretty much contradicts the info I got from my Reseller yesterday about Apple issueing a statement to resellers that CTO orders are about to ship to resellers but not Stock machines. Apple aren't technically allowed to withhold stock form resellers whilst filling their own orders, it happens though. I'm not sure if this is law or an agreement.

Well that info doesn't appear to have reached my reseller, and if that IS the case, then there is no reason why mine shouldnt be shipping since it is CTO.

It's just a farse.

did you get an email or did your order status change, cause only the first is important, imho, and according to previous apple comm.

I have't gotten any email. I just checked. The only email I got was when my display shipped. I think other ADC orders aren't getting email either.

I am going to all ADC when it opens (20 mins).

I'm either:
1. Downgrading to a 9800, hoping I can get this shipped today.
2. Asking about the 9600/6800 thing and doing that.

Its just getting plain silly now.

My order page now shows a 09/03/2004 for my machine, and 09/10/2004 for my cinema displays!!!??

What kind of a game are you playing Apple.

Until today, my order said on of before 08/16/2004, although obviously you blew that!

A note to all the people that are seeing action on their orders. Please update your info on http://powermacs.plasticated.com

Although I am saddened by my first Apple experience, I am very happy for all of you.

Ordered 06/30, Due date 08/13, revised date 09/03.

Just got off the phone to Apple in Cork: He has confirmed that my order has a definite shipping date of 08/30, (this has been confirmed by the order processing centre, machine allocated, blah, blah). I asked why the delay, and he stated that it was a 'material shortage' and confirmed this was not the 6800 but the CPUs. I'm counting down the days .........but as much as I want to believe them........I'm not going to hold my breath.

I phoned TNT using the number Apple gave me which is 0800 100 600. I told them I wouldn't be in today and asked if they would deliver on Saturday , if not I would pick it up on Saturday. The nice lady I spoke called the depot handling the order and told they had stuff going out on Saturday to my area so they would redeliver it on Saturday.

In answer to a previous post , I received my shipping notice on the 14th of August ,but this was for my box shipping from Cork to Venray , which I think was triggered in error. As of this morning I hadn't received another notification from Apple that the box shipped from Venray. I checked the TNT website this morning to find that the delivery number now had an entry for Venray to Greenhithe.

I managed to log into my order status, stills says 20/8, but still no email

Nothing for me either yet
Did you get the 2 emails the past weeks stating your order would be send out on the 20th?

JD32, i'll be gutted if you get yours before mine.
I ordered 2 days before you, and mine only has a 9800XT. :(

Have faith, the day is yet young. I doubt we will hear much until the reseller actually has the Macs or at least a confirmed delievery notice.

My reseller has hundreds of stock and CTO orders with Apple UK but hasn't got a clue what is going to arrive and in what order.

Yup, doubt those email hold any water, just to stop us from cancelling, strange getting 2 emails in quick succession saying the same thing. Wasn't to bothered before, but I've been finalising details on a job that's beyond my powerbook. So now i'm a little worried.

I'm hoping you get yours soon ..........................but if there is only one machine left and it has to go to either you or me...I know who I'm voting for. ;)

Well, I'm with thedogcow, DesertDog and others. 9-27. ADC order that I placed on June 25th. Although, according to peterd11, who placed his order on 7-2, his ADC order has shipped (link). How nice.

thedogcow: You said you called ADC and you think your order is stuck at 9-27...can you please explain? What conversation took place? What leads you to believe it's "stuck" at 9-27? Did they offer any hope? I will be calling soon and like to get a heads-up for what to expect. And did they say why no one with ADC is getting emails?

Thanks. And congrats to all who shipped, even you peterd11...you ... that ordered after me. ;) I hope everyone's comes through flawless.

Okay, I called as soon as they opened today. I spoke with "Thomas."
I told him the 9/27 date which he clarified that the time is actually 9/15-9/27, although, this pretty much means 9/27 (if that, even).

I also talked to him about the 9600/6800 ordeal that people were mentioning on this board. He knew nothing of this. I am not sure this applies to ADC orders. If someone could find this answer out exactly, this would help. Try to ask for someone else... like "Patti". She is pretty informative.

I asked about changing my order, like dropping the 6800 and getting (for example) a ATI 9800 card. He said I would loose my spot in their queue and have to make a new order. It looks like, regardless of choosen card, that ADC people are stuck *assuming you ordered the 6800 card in the first place*.

Lastly, I called the regular Apple line just to verify the said stuff. Once again, If I selected a new card, I would loose my queue spot and have to wait the 5 weeks anyway.

No. They didn't offer any hope nor explained the no-emails. I am becoming numb to it all.

I've checked MacNN and ADC people there had the same story.

So I left my order as is. School begins Monday. By the time I get the G5, the semester will be 1/5 done.

If I get bumped to 9/27 I'll give up my EDU order and grab one in New Hampshire. Sux. I imagine they'll let me know tonight around 7 PM that it isn't gonna ship. Lame.

I received the 6800 delay mail as well. In my mind, this is one of the no-brainerest of no-brainer decisions ever. I don't really need the 6800 now, so I wind up getting a perfectly good free 9600 that I will plop into the dual 1 gig G4 that my wife is inheriting. Hopefully the machine won't linger until 9/3 to ship. I don't know why anyone would not choose this option.

I don't blame Apple for this one. If they don't have the 6800s, they don't have them. I knew from the getgo that that card was still in the pipeline when I ordered it. I think this is a great move by Apple to make things right.

I personally have a shipping date of Aug. 30th for my Dual 2.5 w/6800 but I will not accept some lower grade card that I was not interested in, in the first place or I would have ordered it in the first place! From a business standpoint Apple is throwing money away sending out replacement cards, sure these cards are the cheaper of their options but still how does this look to shareholders and investors. In essence that is what hurts more not just cancelled orders. And for people trying to convert to Mac from Windows this doesn't sit well. I wonder why they can't grab the market share they are looking for. The market proves people will buy products with less stress attached them. I will cancel my order in a heartbeat if they don't make my date . I don't settle for no one or nothing, you get my money now give me what I ordered in a timely fashion and quit pulling my chain. I won't let this ride....
