It is worth the patience. Just got mine in last friday. It's perfect, it survived the AHT perfectly. Apple rules!!!!klaus said:

Gecko, did they mention your displays in the shipment confirmation?
Did you choose shipping when all items are available? If not, than it's normal they would send your g5 first, and then your displays when available.
But I thought the displays were available within 2-3 days?

Thats whats weird.
The whole time, my order has been 'merge in transit'. So basically, ship only when everything is ready.
Then, last week when I found there was going to be another delay, I asked nicely if it was possible to just send me 1 screen, so I could hook it up to my PC, and at least get on with some work (my old monitor died a few days after I made the Apple order).
They came back a few days later, saying because it was a loan purchase, they couldnt do that. However, my shipping turned into 'ship each item as it becomes available'.
And so we get to where we are today. The G5 heading towards my house, without the screens.
Whats really weird, as you say, is my order page quotes the 10th September for shipping on the screens, which is very strange as they are not backlogged as far as I know.
I sometimes wonder if even Apple knows how their shipping system works...

Well that's very very weird! And also very annoying..
Don't you know anyone who has a crt or some older display you can borrow or something?
I for myself have 2 17" CRT displays in the basement that are old and useless because of the lack of coloraccuracy (they were cheap and old)
but if they had send me G5 first before the 23", I would have used those displays anyway!
With me, it's the other way around.. I hooked up my 23" to my powerbook however, so I do enjoy it each day.
Heck, Now, even my 6800 card should arrive 9/1, and my G5 is scheduled for 9/8, so I can fit the 23" cable in the card and pretend I'm playing UT2004 at 100FR/sec

Still waiting for my applestore online order from June as well.
I'm seeing posting here from people from the same country as i'm in, who ordered almost 1 month after i ordered my system, and they're getting shipping confirmation already.
While my order keeps on getting postponed.
I've mailed them asking how they can claim my order is being delayed again 'due to interest in this product still being higher than anticipated', a week after sending me emails that my order would definately be shipped on or before august 20, and claim 'orders are being shipped by orderdate' .
If i get a standard reply back from them (again) not answering my question, i'm definately going to cancel.

A next shipment for Benelux should arrive first week of September, Apple Benelux told me.
But the women I spoke to could not bet her mother on that one..
My reseller date currently is:
G5 stock: September 8th
nVidia 6800 (seperate install kit): September 1st
G5 turned up at 11am this morning!
Ordered 15/6 - received 23/8
Running the initial hardware test now!

I ordered mine 16/6/4 on the apple educational online store and recieved this kick-ass machine on the 20st of august. Hoping yours will come soon to!rob118 said:

Yeah..this is such a moment where I'd want to live in the states for a change.. You have to admit it's frustrating to hear people from the netherlands receive their shipment notification when they ordered mid july. Off course, those poor people can't do anything about it, but Apple can.
I bet that lady on the phone doesn't know a lot, since their must be some shipments to the benelux already, otherwise people who ordered online couldn't of gotten theirs already. So they definity ARE shipping in the benelux, just not to resellers who placed orders the first days..
