Just got a VOICE MAIL from this disgustingly happy little elf like cust service person.... my new date is 9/14 and due to this delay I got the free shipping upgrade we all noticed yesterday......

She was so happy sounding even if I was not getting frustrated I'd probably want to smack her!

So Everyone here tell her I said hi!

Okay, I called. I don't know why because I didn't learn anything new. She did tell me that "My machine is on the production line" which I think this is standard and empty response.

My Apple store 6 miles from me has them in stock!!!!!

So tempted to cancell the order.... they will take back my monitor and resell it to me to put BOTH back on the same order for Apple Care....

means giving up the $405 6800 card for now..... and ability to sell the 9600XT for a few bucks.... but Ug.... I can't believe the stores around me are stocked!!!!!

Used my 'upset voice' and got $100 credit at online apple store..... already getting EDU discount so they can't give it on the machine....

So - I'll be patient....

I really want to sell the 9600 card.... so I want to keep the online order......

Yeah but where you got your email splitting your order into the 9600 and 6800 a few days ago, I got mine on 8/19.

I think it was 8/2. When I went to check my order status that day, it was changed to 9/3. I knew that they gave priority to EDU purchases, but I thought the same went with ADC purchases too. I guess not.

Grr, the order status page STILL says 9/3 for me- the lady on the phone said all looks well and it'll be shipping out today, but it's 4:18 PM my time, shouldn't it say shipped?

edit:// Also, overnight priority shipping sent today will arrive Tuesday said an Apple rep on the phone, not Saturday.

They have probably cancelled it. a lot of US customers have received e-mails saying that they buyer must re-confirm their order otherwise it will be cancelled, if you haven't been getting any e-mails...

Apple Order Status and FedEx tracking report that my computer shipped today via FedEx Ground out of Anaheim CA and should be here by September 10, next Friday.

Apple personal education order, stock+1GB RAM+BT+FCE. Originally estimated to ship before or on September 8.

Darn, *cough* I hope *cough* I don't have to use a *cough* sick day on Monday the *cough* 13th.

Apple just called me, apparently the person who updated my order after 8/19 didn't do it right, and even if he or she had my order date would have still read 9/17.

Dual G5-2.5GHz has arrived

If somebody is still keeping track out there, my new Mac has arrived. I'm doing the transfer process now and it's showing over five hours! Fortunately, the timer isn't accurate and minutes are sometimes ticking off like seconds. In less than an hour, it's down to an hour left. During this process, I can't even hear it -- it's much quiter than the iMac G4, which is functioning as the target firewire drive.

Well, I called about my order being delayed to 9/17 and the nvidia 6800 delayed to 9/24 and managed to get free overnight on both and a free 100$ printer...not bad I guess, as long as it ships by when it says.

Don't hit me please

Dear all, Christof of London, UK here. OK OK I don't know why but my 23" flat panel shipped 2 weeks early and my 2.5 CTO G5 (2 250GB/BT/AE) shipped three weeks early. The two have been running constantly for three days now.

I've been holding my breath, cos a) my last 2 Macs have had problems at the start (UK purchasers, Apple uses AMSYS to fix newish Macs, and they're good) and b) people on this and other forums have had probs with both thyese products.

Touching wood, this combination is the greatest. It's the most stunning mix of computer, display and OS I've ever had the joy to use. It's gonna be my music production machine but hey, it's currently being amazing on the Creative Suite and internet/email stuff. Just for fun by the way, after you've done the firewire target mode set up (which is SUPERB btw) download HARDWARE MONITOR and check out the temperatures....mine's getting quite hot c/w other people....when the heatsink reaches exactly170 deg F, the front fan kicks in like clockwork for about 5 secs...it's rather nice actually! Think it's to do with the extra 2GB Ram (from Crucial) plus having two big ATA disks inside....And my Processor B die is 6 degrees hotter than my CPU A for some reason...whatever, the message is, and I know this message, like this thread, is very long, just to say, the wait is really really worth it.
