Grebo, no change here either. I have some very strange numbers which I think are just Apple's numbers and not proper tracking numbers. They are :-

The delivery have still to be 'registered' at TNT, and we get 'real' TNT tracking numbers only after that. I'm thinking about the final (but one, the 6800 ) delivery in the middle of next week ... No progress on saturday/sunday

Hmm, well I don't think this is the case. I must say I had to laugh very hard when I read that newsletter. I mentioned it in my letter that I sent to Apple, how they were misleading people with things like this. Unless they are finally shipping in huge quantities to the benelux. But that remains to be seen of course.

I'm not counting on it.

Shipped Maybe

Ordered 8/22 Japan, strange tracking number, Bax Global shipping number? this number came on the Japanese Apple site 9/22 at around 6:00 PM Japan time. At least somethings happening? I seem to be checking Apples site every 4 hours at work, cannot stop myself, I hope my G4 PowerBook is not taking this personally, it's served me well and I do not intend to give it up. I wonder has anybody in Japan received one of these G5's yet?

For those in GB, if you check the shipment status using the link from the Apple Store status page you should see a tracking number(two numbers actually) separated by a comma. The first number (Mine begins with 7788) can be used directly in the TNT tracking system. The numbers in the email from the Apple store are no help, you have to go to the status pages within the Apple Store.

Does anyone know how long it takes a ground package to go between sort facilities from California to the east coast? My g5 has been departing from the fedex sort facility in Rialto, CA since Friday.

Apparently the NVIDA AND the 30" are not available!

Yeah, this has been known for some time, it sucks...

but....

There is some good news. If you approach apple correctly, you should be able to get a g5 shipped with a 9600 card. They will then ship your 6800 when it is available and you can sell the 9600 on ebay (or nail it to the wall ).

Maybe someone here can enlighten mk_in_mke on how to go about doing this???

Ok, so I've been reading this thread since I ordered on August 20 with ever sinking fear that my estimated ship date (Sept. 27) would get bumped when it got near. But Lo! Didn't I receive an email today (Sept 21) that my Dual 2.5 has shipped!

Sympathies to all those still waiting...

Nice. Perhaps Apple is finally shipping these out in a timely fashion. My machine was also shipped before it’s date (although that date was a bump).

Powermac G5 2.5 with 30" and 6800 sold in The Netherlands

Well guys,

SOMEONE in the Netherlands has a Powermac G5 2.5 with 30" and nvidia 6800 to work on.

Last week there was a conference called IBC in Amsterdam, and they had some setups there with the 30" and the nvidia and 2.5. I saw one store where they sold these after the conference. With a discount of course. Too bad it was already sold when I checked the site.

Its on its way (BTO ordered 29/06/04).

No 30" or 6800 yet, but they are sending it with a 9600 with others items to follow when available...... (at no extra cost)

If you just ask them nicely they should do it for you. It didn't take any extra coaxing from me to get them to change my order.
The real question is: will it do any good? I'm having serious doubts that I will get my computer any faster now that it's split.

They seem more hesistant in europe, I have mailed and called them about it, no luck. I think I was nice and polite to them

But this was some weeks ago. Maybe I should try again? Did anybody else get this deal in the eu?

Yes, they don't seem to be offering it, but if you ask enough times they give in.

After receiving the newsletter that the supercomputer is now shipping in the benelux, I called Apple Online Store and faked a store about me receiving this letter and wanting to order it online. I asked if the 3 to 5 weeks were correct. He said the 1.8 and 2.0 are not hard to come by, but that the 2.5 was having a lot of troubles but they were idd shipping in 'larger' quantities.

In fact, and I can hardly believe it , he said to me, if you order it through me, i'll make sure it has priority, and I'll get it in the queue BEFORE orders from resellers. So I could have it in a week or 2 weeks.

Well, evidence that they are holding resellers back with shipments doesn't get any bigger than this I suppose.. Policies...

I think he would do anything to make a sale. Based on my experience, I don't believe he has the power to put anyone ahead of anyone else. They are just messing with your head, Klaus.

My G5 left California yesterday (Sep 21) at noonish. It arrived in Montreal this morning and is currently (Sep 22 @ 11:30) awaiting customs clearance. Pretty darn fast if you ask me. I might get it as early as Friday! Yay!

Should add too, that it was standard ground shipping, not expidited shipping.

That is so lame. Either he is trying to get commission for selling a 2.5 by lying, or Apple really is treating resellers like crap.

That's so messed up. I ordered after you (Aug 20) and it shipped early (Sep 21 instead of Sep 27)

I ordered a stock system but with Ram upgraded to 1 Gig.

I think people are just refering to the fact that an added 512Mb or RAM shouldn't delay a system, as the 6800 or 30" Display would...
