SNIP Back to business now: 1 - has anyone put more than 2x250 Gb HD in their mac... Can I put 4x250 Gb HD? If yes said:Wiebetech has the G5JAM http://www.wiebetech.com/products/G5Jam.php
Uses 1 PCI Slot but check website for note on full length cards.
You could put 4 400 Gig drives in with this and put the original drive out of the G5 in an external FW enclosure with the System and Apps on it.
The Traydock allows you to do this with the original SATA drive

======================
ProMax has the SATAMaxi for 5 total drives inside

======================
Transintl.com has the SwiftData200 for 5 drives inside

These guys use the FirmTek SeriTek1S2 card to get the extra SATA connections inisde the G5 so 1 or 2 PCI slots are used.

klaus said:Well..to all belgian guys. That october 14th date will probably not be met for the dual 2.5 G5's, the 1.8 and 2.0 backorders should be obsolete by that time. But they are still only sending a handful 2.5 G5's at a time..
I got this info from an apple rep at a video seminar. There were demo's of the production suite on ... yes.. correct, a dual 2.5 ghz machine.
At least I saw one in person, and even touched it!
Now I just feel silly that i wrote this last sentence![]()

skillsonmac said:Well i just visited my local Apple Centre in my hometown this weekend and asked a salesperson if he could tell me anything regarding the suspected delivery time on a dual 2.5 system. I asked him because there was actually a dual 2.5 in the shop! He said it would probably take about 4 weeks to get one if ordered today. I think this kind of proves my catching-up-theory stated a short time ago.
Hope this gives some hope to our benelux friends hanging around here.
As for me, I just entered my third week of waiting and begin to grow a lot of respect for most people on this board. Hang in there kids, we will be rewarded!

Ge4-ce said:What did they said besides the fact not to expect them Octobre 14th? Did they give a reason? Apologies? explanation? anything? Because what boders me a little is that I still did not had ANY response to my letter. (I think you did not either)
klaus said:what bothers me as well (well it's a long list) is that the apple site still says 3-5 weeks for a standard model, well, newsflash for apple, my standard config has been on order for 16-17 weeks!
The past week my anxious wait was a bit more bearable, but now, it's going up again... can't help it.

Shipping : who knows?) Ordered online : lacie d2 160 gb hd triple interface (shipped 8/20 - delivered 8/23)I heard that the 6800 was delaying the delivery of Duali 2.5 + 30"... But from this post (for instance) it appears that the dualie 2.5 is delaying the entire stuff.. I would bet that the dual 2.5 is having some serious technical flaws and that they delay everything.
How is it that an order like the one above is delyed that much when no 6800 or 30" is involved?

klaus said:Half an hour ago, he called me back with the message that there are 2 standard configs on their way to their warehouse, and one of them is mine, since I was the first in line.

klaus said:Apparently, my machine shipped from Cork, Ireland to my dealer yesterday.
Anybody know how long it usually takes for them to get here? People who ordered online may have a clue about this.
My dealer thinks it'll be about 2-3 days from now, hopefully I can get it in time for the weekend. Not counting on it for the moment though.
Cheers guys
