Dual 2.5GHz PowerMacs Shipping

Well, its 5:30 PM central time. Last night my 2.5 ship date changed from 7/30 to 8/2 (mon). I called this morning and was told it looked like the HP printer was the hold up? I could change from "Ship everything at once" to "Ship as available" the 2.5 was scheduled for 7/30. I said OK...
I just got home at 5:00, had e-mails from apple that the monitor, and the printer shipped today! but no 2.5. I checked shipping status and it was 8/2.
Then after reading all the delays people had gotten
I checked again about 5 minuets ago and its back to 7/30...

WILL IT SHIP?

Who else is still 7/30?

Ok this is weird... on the website for my order it NOW says on or before 7/30, so who knows.. I am calling Apple again to find out.
 
Yes thats the weird thing. I called this afternoon they informed me that the date was changed to 8/20, I said but thats not what the Order Status says. She said it takes a while for the website to update. Then after that it DID change to 8/20 but now it says 7/30 again.

Maybe the hold up is a bug with the Order Status on the Apple Website. Yea thats it, the date was never 7/30 thats a bug with Order Status... it was always 8/20

Mine also says on or before 7/30...

Ordered the first day....

I hope Apple hasn't read that email I just sent them when it was at 8/20.... :eek:

Ok I called them, basically they said they dont know why the website says 7/30 again, but it must be wrong because the orders are not shipping until 8/20.
 
Try refreshing the page before getting your hopes up.

My date went back to 07/30/04 but has since bounced back to 08/20/04.

(Maybe I'll turn it into a drinking game, just to get some enjoyment out of it.)
 
No I did refresh the page, actually it said the last update time was 3:30pm. prior when it said 8/20 the last update time was 4:21... now the update time is 4:25 and its says 8/20 again... maybe my phone call did something
 
Well, I certainly feel for all of you but I felt all along Apple would do this. It'll be my turn soon when I order the new G5 iMac.
 
i've been spreading this petition like wildfire to appleinsider and macnn (under the name johnnydr87)....

it's building up, i urge others to do the same

we might change something.

I ordered the 2.5 with a 6800 card and "free" shipping on 7/13, got est. ship date for 8/20 and now a apple e-mail for 9/3!!!!! order status still shows 7/13.
am I the winner of getting the "getting very last g5 competition" here? :confused:

sorry, I should say: est. ship date 8/25 and it still shows it.

It appears to be so. Then again, you did order one month after people like myself and others. If our orders don't ship until 8/20 you can expect yours to be pushed back as well. please sign the petition in my sig.
 
This delay better not be because they're starting production of a G5 iMac.

I have been waiting 9 months, mostly by my own choice but when you announce a product, give us a estimated ship date, and the have the balls to delay that date for EVERYONE! you should at least give a solid reason.

YesApple, I know they're in high demand but I was one of the first to order so this means that you (Apple) have been sitting on your asses?
 
It looks every third or fourth time I refresh the order status page I can get 07/30/04 to show up again.

This drinking game is almost too easy to play. I need to go to the party store and replenish my stock.

that every single G5 2.5 is delayed unitll 8/20. I asked about some shipping out on 7/30 or 8/2, his response was that not a one will shipp unitll or close to 8/20. He aslo said that, there has not been an official statement from Apple as to the cause of this delay, but he expects to have on before long.

For what that is worth! :confused:

Yeah there's something either wonky with the Order Status application or every web browser. I've seen the date go back and forth on both my PC at work and my Mac at home.
