nevermind...i do now have a tracking number, but no details. still f'd up...i...like duffman ordered 6/9 early in the day. i dont see how they cant send all those orders. i find this hard to believe they shipped it. i wont believe it until its on my doorstep. ****suckers.
Duff-Man says...your order has shipped and you are still cursing at everyone? Please refrain from the offensive language in your posts...it really is not necessary....oh yeah!

I'm not sure those 8/2 emails are legit. No offense to the people that post them, but it's a little suspicious that only brand-new members received.

Maybe someone is just having a little fun with our pain. :)

Duff-Man is right... it shipped or will ship very soon, don't get bent out of shape. Some of us are looking at the possibility September ship dates.

I hate to say it, but you could be right...

Nobody on any other forum that i have checked has seen of a second email from Apple saying 8/2...

With that said, I don't believe that anyone would care enough to fake an Apple email just to piss us off...

If all goes according to plan we should be hearing first hand accounts very soon. This will indeed call for great joy.

Another 2.5 buyer.

I ordered my 2.5 on July 6th, standard except for 1GB ram and BT module. It says it is a CTO order and I have been wondering, what exactly is the difference between BTO and CTO? I have received an email pushing the date back to Aug 20th. Despite the order status page being messed up last night and showing 7/30, it is back to 8/20.

So add me to the list of confused buyers.

Well I have to say I am very happy I ordered the nvidia 6800 ultra right away because it sounds like the people who ordered without it hoping to get their computer soon are getting screwed and are going to have to wait anyways. My est ship date is 9/03 and I'm happy waiting. :D

This is my first post on this forum and also my first time purchasing an Apple computer -- and let me tell you -- it's been a roller coaster ride. I ordered directly from Apple's website, and like most people, recieved an email saying 8/20. But when I checked the status of my order, my original order was cancelled and then re-ordered -- pushing my date back to 9/13.

So this morning I go to call Apple to try to get the date pushed up to 8/20, but decided to check the order status one more time -- still 9/13. Apple wasn't open yet so I waited half an hour then checked the website one more time... then it said my order had been shipped -- I had a tracking # and everything. I didn't get my hopes up since there was no email notifying me of the shipment, until about twenty minutes ago. So as far as I can tell, my G5 should be on it's way.

I ordered through the education store on 7/02. It is CTO, I bumped up the ram to 1 gig.

@dvguru : sounds very weird to me, you ordered almost a month after the introduction and it's shipped already? Did you get a shipping confirmation via mail?

It sounds very weird -- I was pretty surprised. The only notification I recieved is an email saying that it shipped today. I'm not ruling out the possibility that it's some kind of glitch.

someone on appleinsider also reports he got a shipping notification, and he ordered june 29th, maybe call apple for confirmation? for you and for us ;)

Can't wait to get it!
:D

BTW, I ordered June 9... anyone else that ordered on June 9 check their email in the last hour? I recieved this email at 11:49 according to Mail.

I've got you all beat!

I feel your pain!

While it's not a 2.5GHz, I've been waiting since JANUARY for a dual 2.0GHz G5 xServe with a RAID card. Was supposed to be delivered March 11. I'm now on the 4th shipping date revision! (8/3) My CC's been hit with the authorization, but that's happened 4 times in the past. The even charged my CC for shipping once! My rep was more than a little embarrassed when I called about it :D

Apple has told me that if I take the RAID card off the order, I can get it with-in a couple of weeks, but I need that card and no one else makes one for the Mac. As of now, I'm leaving it as is. It will be TRULY interesting to see how long it finally takes. My guess is never, at this point

This was supposed to be the first one in replacing all our Windows servers... The web application software we use, finally became available on the Mac.

Oh well

Waiting, waiting, waiting

MM

Well I just got off the phone with Apple and they said they were able to fulfill my order and it has indeed shipped.

Guess the waiting game's over for me... finally.

Was yours an educational store order?

well, I already mentioned the fact that that shipping dates doesn't matter, and apparently it doesn't. But I bet it's only for stock models?

Anyway, those apple reps on the phone don't know a lot don't they, as they stated several times ALL 2.5's were pushed back to 8/20. I guess they don't have any info besides that on or before date.. and that's not really to be trusted I reckon..

anyways, hope my reseller gets mine soon! :)

Trying to find similarities!

When announcing that your oder has shipped, or posting an update will you please state the date orderd and if it is stock,CTO, or BTO. Thanks

bdrago and invaLPsion - my previous posts regarding the 8/2 e-mail were definitely legit! I'd be glad to forward the message to you if you'd like.

Anyway, just now over lunch, I also received my shipping notification!

I couldn't imagine our IT team waiting that long for a 1u server from Dell.
