Dual 2.5GHz PowerMacs Shipping

I have a CTO 2.5 that was placed on 6/11 that has been moved to 9/03. It has an ATI 9600XT in it.

It was placed through the ADC.

Any ADC orders been shipped out there? 😕

Apple never ships on Sundays. I hope ours ship tomorrow. What else is there to ship, I mean? It seems like we're the only ones here who haven't had ours ship, besides those from ADC...

I guess will see some more shipping posts tomorrow, as well as the first ones who got their new g5 with 2 day express shipping (if any)

the thread was awfully quiet over the weekend, not much more info or stuff to talk or complain about 😉

it'll be better tomorrow, but tomorrow i have to work again, my holiday is over (since 21 july) I planned this holiday so I had some time to play with my 2.5 and 23", but the first won't be here in a couple of weeks, and the latter is gathering dust at my reseller, waiting for his companion, cause no way i'm hooking this baby up to a pc.

Bleh, my holiday was spent reading macrumors about shipping info.. but it was sunny, so that makes up a whole lot 🙂

cu all tomorrow, and invalpsion, don't worry, yours will ship well before 08/20, you've waited long enough 🙂 and pray that mine does as well 😉

It says on Apple's site that all orders shipped from outside the U.S. ship 3-day international FedEx. Guess that kind of negates overnight and 2-day service, but good for those of us who chose ground shipping.

what. that can't be right. if you chose overnight shipping, then i'm pretty sure they'll give you overnight shipping....otherwise why make it an option for certain orders...

I fully agree. I called Friday to find out what was going on with EDU order and they couldn't tell me a thing. The first guy I talked to was very polite and offered a supervisor. I accepted hoping that a sup would no more. To be honest she seemed to know LESS than the first guy. Not only that she was VERY rude. I can only imagine that she was fed up with calls concerning 2.5 shipments. Still, I don't think that's a very good excuse.

Nevertheless, there is very little we can do. I HOPE that those of us who ordered the first day will be getting our computers early next week. But really, that's all we can do....hope. 😉

I'm very sorry to hear about the treatment that you received on the phone at the Apple Store. I agree that there isn't really any excuse to be rude.

Hope does spring eternal, it's good to see that there is much more optimism and patience.
 
I got the shipment notice this morning, and they sent it FedEx GROUND. AAARRRGH! So much for them telling me everything on my order was being shipped 2-day Express - not even one item was.

[edit] It's not in the FedEx tracking system yet, so I can't verify that, but that's what the online order status page says. I don't know from where it's being shipped.

I really wonder how Apple handels the pre-orders from resellers over pre-orders from online customers.. I ordered on june 13th, through a reseller, and I find it odd that guys who ordered a LOT later through apple online, already received their shipping confirmation.. oh well, guess it's because i don't live in the unistated nates of america 😉
 
My ADC order

Hey BajaBurrito (and other ADC orderers)

I ordered mine June 25th (kinda late, I know) and my ship-date was also pushed back to 9/13 with no emails or explanation of any kind. Very strange. I'm kinda in my "whatever" mood at the moment and trying not to care. Although at other times I care very much and want it here now!! 😉 I currently use a 400 Mhz G4, about 4.5 years old, so I'm totally ready to upgrade. I can barely run anything on that thing...even Safari lags opening these forum pages! Bah, whatever, it'll be fixed soon enough. 😉

For reference, only mods are I upgraded the HD to 250 GB and added Bluetooth.

According to my rep in the UK, mine *should* be still shipping today, just waiting for some confirmation.

Ordered 12th June, CTO 9800XT 256 and 1Gb RAM

Ok, it has actually left the FedEx origin location in Shenzhen, China. It doesn't have a Ship Type or Expected Delivery Date yet, but hey, I'm AM just happy that it has shipped.

I ordered on 6/9 (day one). Increased the RAM to 1 GB, 250 GB HD, and added the Airport Extreme card. I think that's all that wasn't standard. My order was through the regular ol' Apple Store. I couldn't even begin to guess how Apple is handling order from resellers since they clearly didn't get the shipping order correct for there own store's orders.
 
Off Topic - Ish

I am still waiting for my 2.5 to show up, on order with it is a 23" monitor, the old version .. I am getting the $500 rebate on this still but I am now thinking about getting the new one instead .. Is this money well spent? or should I stick with the old flavour ?

I've never had one of the old flat panels, but I got two of the new 20" aluminum displays, and I have to say, they are sweet! If it won't break your bank, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Neither of them has even a single dead pixel and they are absolutely gorgeous, but maybe I just think that 'cause they are my first wide-screen flat panels. I love them. I'd marry them if I could. 🙄 I can't wait to have the 2.5 to connect them to.

Well, I guess he'll be protecting itself with his powerbook 17" and airport express which he was using to write that famous email to all apple employees. 😀
