but my reseller told me this afternoon he says it would be "august" DUH, july has ended a couple of days ago, I said "Well, I guess it'll be end of august" he replies "yeah..think so".

But you're in the US, and i'm in this terrible small country called Belgium

I ordered a "2.5DPG5/1GB/250/SD/R9600XT/PCI-X/BT-USA" CTO from the Apple Store. I'm almost embarrassed to say I only ordered it on July 10 (3:16 PM EDT) (with a July 30, Aug 20, Aug 9 on-or-before shipping date). I got my shipping confirmation this morning at 9:01 (EDT).

Okay, what I don't get.. is that I ordered...

2.5DPG5/2GB/250/SD/R9600XT/PCI-X/BT-USA on June 9!!!!!!!

and I have nothing.

What gives??

No offence avah12, but you ordered almost a month later than most of us, so your aug 20 doesn't sound so bad if you consider it.

Anyways, hopefully the shipping graph will continue to rise upwards towards the middle of august

Ordered mine 5am EST on the 10th of JUNE with same config except I kept the stock 150 HD and I'm still stuck on 8/20 - where is the love?

This really sucks... I ordered at 6:36AM PST on June 9 (dual 2.5 GHz G5, with 1.0 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Radeon 9800XT, and Bluetooth module). I had an estimated shop date of 7/30 until 7/29, when it changed to 8/20, and my status hasn't budged since. Why even bother ordering early, since Apple obviously doesn't take this into account at all?

hotwire132002, yahoo! I can't believe someone from the forum will finally be receiving one today. So all our tracking info moved this morning. Mine showed that it's STILL in Shenzhen for the nth day, but that it "Left FedEx ramp" and a schedule has been set for tomorrow. With the whole experience, I doubt it will arrive tomorrow but at least maybe before the week ends.

And please do post pictures of the box/packaging (in case they changed any) as you open the unit. Also, I am pretty curious as to how an Airport Express and Bluetooth antenna looks like. I downloaded the G5 manual in advance and read there are two supplied antenna sticks which I haven't seen in the Apple store.

Anyway, I'm sure we (the guys here in the forum) are all happy for you.

Mine is on that plane too.

If ours move as fast as Hotwire's did once they get to the US, we will probably get them tomorrow. Mine claims tomorrow as the delivery date and now I'm thinking it just might make it. If my boss won't let me work from home, I may have to call in sick.

Hotwire's G5 was flying through the process once in the US...

Don't worry about lack of photos--I've got my digital camera in my pocket... I'll start taking photos as soon as the FedEx truck gets here. I'll warn you though, you're gonna need broadband to download all the photos .

klaus, there is no delay with the bluetooth equipped models. We are thinking it might be the combo drive that is causing delay with others.

Has anyone with a combo model had their unit shipped? To compare, my BTO is:

2.5DPG5/1GB/250/SD/R9600XT/56K/BT/AE...ordered under EDU discount and got my shipping notice Saturday morning, but has been sitting in China for days. Like the rest, finally left the ramp and is slated for delivery for tomorrow (if you believe the FedEx site).

The reason was finally uncovered, the slow status in Shenzhen was due to the fact that G5 units were being moved via Rickshaws.

That just really sucks. Apple should give you guys some sort of reasoning here. Its not fair that someone who ordered weeks after you should get their machine first - no offense to the others... i'm glad you guys are getting your machines... but fair is fair.
