well aware? yeah right! I haven't gotten any emails from them on my 6/9 order. I'm still empty handed even after repeated phone calls to them. My ship date is still quoted 9/3 and my credit card uncharged.
So judging from the benches, the 2.5 is roughly 25% faster in processor tests - as expected.
The biggest surprise to me is the difference between the 5200 performance and the 9600xt. Between 26% and 55% faster depending on the bench. WOW!

After hanging in cyberspace without anything to look at for so long, it was nice to see an opened machine in someone's house FINALLY. BTW, much better testimonial than the what THEGIMP did. Posting that a 2.5 arrived running 10.3.5, then crawling back under a rock posting threads but not another word or even a picture of his 2.5.
I've been entering the stats while reading in my spare time. There's a lot I've probably missed but here goes:

I don't know if there's holdups, but hotwire was good to go with a stock card, ram addon, and bluetooth.
I ordered 6-25 250HD/SD/BT/wireless Key&Mouse/stock ram & video card. Shipping date is the generic 8-20.
Oh, if anyone gets really bored, and needs a little entertainment, they can watch the videos and see pix on my website . I've been wanting to re-master my show in digital and begin promo DVD shoot/editing but have endured the lack of news in Jan, the bad news in March, the delay till July, and the delay till 8-20....its been a haul buying this one.

Good grief, these "I am sooooo mad at Apple" posts are wearing thin. You people have ordered tech products at launch before, right? You are aware that a new product - especially one that depends on having a brand new processor, new cooling system, updated system software, and a new video card all being in the same place at the same time - will usually delay at launch? Plus, many of these things are shipping from China and maybe Ireland. Every single high-end Mac for years has had a delayed shipping date. If you can't deal with that, then wait 6 months after launch when the initial supply rush has faded and it will ship in a week. There is no conspiracy. The same thing happens with most manufacturers in many fields.
The machines will arrive. The world will not stop spinning in the meantime. Go read a book, or take a walk outside. The world has bigger problems than a group of computer fans waiting maybe (gasp) a month extra for new hardware.

People are mad at apple, and rightly so, because they failed to communicate properly issues. Everyone knew that the machine was going to get delayed, however, 1 day before shipping, lame e-mails from Apple do not count. If I tell my boss he will get the report on Friday and I tell him Thusday he is not going to get it with a lame excuse, holy hell is going to break out. However, if I tell him as early as possible with solid reasons why, he fumes for ten minutes and we both get on with it. Apple knew they could not ship in mass quantities in July (as per their promise) thats where they failed and that is poor customer service on their part.

I called FedEx yesterday and they told me I could expect my unit today or no later than the end of the business day Thursday. Well, I called today and was told that it should be here before 10:30AM tomorrow.

When the iPod mini came out, I walked in the store and bought one the day they were released with no problem. I hope this will be the same case with the 2.5. I am looking at hotwires photos and it looks like there may be some kind of air filter added to the back of the processor enclosure. Does anyone else have that panel at the back on their Rev.B 1.8 or 2.0?
