12th of July 2005 is that!??

I am in the UK, and I havent a clue when I will get mine - my reseller has told me to be patient - yeah right... 7 weeks after placing my order, completely paid up, and I should be patient...

Jeez! They took your money!!

Is there anyone on this forum who ordered outside the states from Apple directly and not from a reseller?

Well i know in Australia at least most people will probably order through resellers because apple Australia is notoriously bad, both in customer service and just in general

Well - foolishly (now I realise) I offered to pay up mid July, as I was expecting it within a couple of weeks anyway (hey I had the money - if I didn't get rid of it, I might have 'needed it' ), but now that the £2600 hasn't been there for a couple of weeks (3) I am getting a bit pissed :/

I' m in sort of the same situation. I ordered via techdata, straigt from a distributer [because we sell apple ourselves from time to time] we used to order our apple equipement via ingram micro. but they stopped distributing apple. I can now see why. they were tired of the phonecalls. now because our company had to search a new appledistributer [and techdata was the only one] we had to make a new deal. and so it turned out that the first 3 bill with techdata had to be paid in front before you could pay on delivery. [guess they have had problems with people not paying or going bankrupt]

so it turned out to be me to pay a wole 5500 euros in front for a 23" display, a 2.5 powermac and a 6800 nvidia card. I have payed it since july 1th and the display is the only thing I have received.

at this moment my status is 25th of august. but that can change in both ways.

I think Apple should not make any annoucements anymore before they can ship in one or 2 weeks! yes, WEEKS. by this time, the benchmarks are allready outdated! the dual xeon 3.6 has been launched while apple still has to deliver the 2.5's [except for some rare exceptions]

Did you have your power set on "Highest" in your Energy control panel? These numbers aren't much higher than a 2.0GHz unit. Compare here >>

No. I set it on Highest and re-benchmarked it:

No G5's, No Powerbooks in UK

If you live in the UK, no one can get ahold of any G5's or Powerbooks. Microanvika has no stock, nor does any other reseller - what is going on?

It's almost here...

7:20 am
On FedEx vehicle for delivery
ALPHARETTA GA

Every time I hear a loud engine outside, I go running to the window. A fire truck has driven by 3 times. Enough already! If someone sets this place on fire and I have to evacuate, I will hunt them down.

I am in the UK

Apple have promised me my G5 and x2 23" displays will be shipped (as promised, and ignoring a delay email to the contrary) on the 16th Aug.

I was the same way--just a couple more hours (mine arrive around noon).

I have a weird scene in my head of JDhusky in a starwars X-wing going for the wormhole to destroy the deathstar. "I'm almost there!" loosen up! "I'm almost there" use the force JDhusky, ....

btw, dual xeons 3.6 are just out and are a 12.5% up in speed in comparison to the 3.2 and they are WAY expensive so the dual G5 can hold it's position for a bit longer than I expected. also the G5 is more than 12.5% faster in many apps so for me it's still king.

MacMerchant has Powerbooks I believe.

There is a shortage of 1.8's, 2.0's have a 2 week wait lime (estimated), 2.5's.. well that's hilarious!

No iMacs until September... will there be any then even?

Reasonably farsical really. ;)

JD huskey!!!!!!!

there was a traffic accident with a fedex vehicule involved.. it's all over the news. shiny aluminal parts are all over the highway! it appears the fedex guy was drunk and tried to miss a crossing bug. he hit the bug anyway and ended up mad and ended up against a concrete wall. up so far, the load of his truck was OK. but then he feared that others would hit the back of his car and therefor, he started unpacking his load. starting with a big blackbox saying G6 or G5, [the news was not sure about that because of the box being thorn apart] he put the load on the highway to signal the accident..

man I hope thats not your fedex guy...

Have seen a post of one

this seems to be the key weather yours has shipped or not.
As far as I read in several forums no 9800 or 6800 equipped machine has shipped yet.
Ordered mine on 6/9 with the Radeon 9800, pushed back to 8/20 (from 8/2).
I'm pretty tired of the wait right now but cancelling is not an option because I've waitet long enough already (I'm one of the fools who expected new PowerMacs for January).

cheers.

I saw a Post last week of a 9800 unit going out. I have not noticed a unit with bluetooth though.

That's just wrong for so many reasons! :D

Don't make me come over there in my X-wing. I'd have to open a can of southern Star Wars whoop as* on ya!

I left a door open so I could hear outside better, and now there's a fly in here that's driving me crazy!

You should be grateful - I had to close the window here as I had wasps flying in and buzzing me while doing some tricky editing (couldnt take eyes of screens, or hands off keyboard, which left me doing some kind of wild anchored jig!!

.. last year, I looked up from the screen to see a hornet the size of a cigar hovering right in front of my head.. I damn near backflipped off my chair and out the door! :D

I think all of us at the forum should chip in and buy you a nice aluminum window screen to go with your new G5.

IT'S HERE! I know the FedEx guy thinks I'm a freak for taking a picture of him pulling it out of the truck. Oh well, time to unpack. I just wanted to let you guys know first.

For some reason this thread reminds me of "Signs". A bunch of appearances all over the US, but no one really can say if they're here for sure.
